I Can Copy And Evolve Talents
Chapter 1433: What A Brat
The man with rough and dancing hair walked around Northern. Although he looked quite miserable, his presence was all but miserable. In fact, Northern had not felt this threatened by anything since he became a Daemon, not even Rehema.
"You tore down the walls of the Empire, and harmed your own brother; that goes against all I can allow you to do, little brother. Even if you’re the baby of the house. And are throwing a tantrum... which very much is allowed. Harming blood is too far."
Northern was still, cautious and analyzing the man.
The man tilted his head and gave him an incredulous look.
"Get out of my soul, you’ll find nothing there, I promise you."
Immediately Northern felt a blank. He had been trying to deeply understand this person’s form with his eyes but after he spoke, the form seemed to not exist anymore, as if it was written off.
Finally, Northern’s lips curved. A smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
The other two Dukes were silent, watching and listening to the exchange between Northern and this strange man.
"Will you do me the kind favor of telling me which one of my brothers you are?"
The man swept his hair backward with his hand, subtly changing the finesse of his look. His red eyes were now eerily dashing. He looked ghostly with pale skin and dark shadows beneath his eyes, but he also looked stunning. Albeit in an unconventional manner.
"I am your elder brother, we’ve met once, actually, you were kind enough to spare me a coin or two, supporting my music career before Frugal became a wasteland. Or should I say proper, before your mentor turned it into one."
He touched his chest, speaking with a feigned hurt voice.
"Burning Storm was a great loss to humanity."
Northern could weave certain answers together from what the Prince was saying. It seemed the Prince had long since been in the scene, watching him since he left the Dark Continent. And he had no idea.
But it didn’t matter, that still didn’t answer his question.
Northern calmly peered into his eyes.
"You’ve not answered my question. Which one are you?"
The Prince laughed.
"Which one I am you say..."
His laugh receded and he fixed a cool gaze on Northern.
"By all the boundlessness of the star, I am Reis, your eldest brother. And I have come to strike a deal with you."
Northern remembered who this one was. He was the first prince of the Empire, Rehema’s brother. And both of them were Luminaries.
’Yeah, no doubt about that...’
Sadly though, Northern could not tell what his talent was. Although he was having a faint guess from what the prince had done to shut his eyes from before, then pulverize the entire building.
Northern chuckled humorously.
"You came to strike a deal with me..." he glanced around, fixing the Prince a deathly pale look. "And this was the best audition you could think of?"
Prince Reis kept a small smile on his face.
"You’re an annoying kid..." He scratched the back of his head, "Sadly though, a terrifying one too. I doubt there’s anyone around here that can put you in your place."
A mad grin broke out on Northern’s face; he glared at the Prince.
"You can try."
Prince Reis stood in front of him, silent for a couple of seconds, and simply staring blankly.
Then he blinked twice... and sighed.
"First, make sure you don’t harm your brother, that kid’s been through so much, I doubt you would have survived it. Second, you’re an Imperial Blood, he is an Imperial Blood, you lot are a priority to each other, you don’t know what that means but Rigel understands it very deeply. I’m sure, he’ll be the happiest person to know that your life."
He put his hands behind his back as he paused for a moment, lingered and continued.
"Third, the matter regarding your killer, the person that wanted you dead is far more complicated than you think. I am here to make a proposal to you. The destruction around you was simply a gesture born out of your own arrogance."
He halted and admonished Northern, wagging a finger.
"And don’t you think of vengeance, if the two of us were to go all out here, or anywhere, we’d just be making another Fhugal."
He nodded and lowered his gaze, regarding Northern with a kindly gaze.
"Now, do you want to talk here, or shall you lead me to the Chaos Prince’s Tower, so we could have a discreet discussion?"
Northern lingered in the silence. A moment later, he spoke.
"Actually, it’s Fagnur’s Tower, Chaos Prince only took it because he was a fraud."
The Prince waved his hand dismissively.
"Please... spare me the details. Rayner is the one interested in those twisted histories. Little brother lead the way."
Northern turned around and looked at both Dukes; he held out the broken sword.
"I’ll be holding onto this for a while."
Afterwards, he vanished.
Prince Reis looked distant with a warm smile on his face.
"What a brat."
Instead of leading him to the Tower, Northern simply dismissed his clone, leaving the Prince with no trail to follow.
He exhaled and began climbing the desolated path on his own, despite simply walking, his leg ate a vast amount of distance in so little time.
It was strange how the world worked around him, as though he could command and countermand it as he deemed fit.
In barely a minute, he had carved a path to the Tower of Trammel. But he stopped, and turned to the Obsidian, stormy tower that stood right next to it, encroached in a severely revolting mist of darkness.
"How Obnoxious, from where could he have gotten something so sinister?"
The cool smile he usually wore, for a moment faltered, but he pressed forward nonetheless.
’My little brother is certainly not one to be trifled with, if all things go well, I should be able to achieve it with his help.’
