Chapter 547: Chapter 329: An Age-Old Mystery? The Yuanchen Human Race, Ancestor of the Cheng Family

The seal broke, and the world twisted in an instant.

Space shattered like falling fragments, revealing the world’s true face behind it.

It was a world that was dark, yet everything was clearly visible. A colossal Array could be faintly seen rising slowly. At some point, Yu Fei had been teleported by the Array to its very center.

Countless silent, terrifying, giant blades filled the sky and swept toward the four of them. Ye Shuping, who had been so confident moments before, now felt his scalp tingle in terror. He could sense that these blades wielded a power far beyond that of a Martial Saint. The very power he had bitterly pursued for so many years had appeared before him, only to send him scurrying away in a desperate flight.

The lakeshore was clearly visible. He knew that if they were teleported into other fragmented realms, they might be lost forever. But with death imminent, he had no time to worry about that.

"Ren Hongxia, Mr. Tang, and Xiaoming! We might get separated in a moment. Keep this runestone safe. It might be our only way out of this!"

Ye Shuping urgently commanded them through their mental link, flicking three Fog Pine Stone markers over to them. They were the ones Yu Fei had left him.

Zhuo Feiming’s eyes narrowed. She understood her teacher’s intention. ’Yu Fei has spatial abilities; he might be able to get us out.’ She didn’t really need a marker, but she took it anyway.

Ren Hongxia was confused, but out of trust for Ye Shuping, she immediately took the runestone. At such a critical moment, perhaps this powerful old man really did have a plan.

Ren Hongxia also gave one of the Fog Pine Stone markers to Tang Shengquan. The old man with the broken leg simply took it with a casual air, paying it no mind. His gaze was transcendent. A clear light glowed in his hand as he focused entirely on recording the anomalies of this place, completely unconcerned by the giant blades descending upon them. If the other three weren’t protecting him, he would have been the first to perish.

Finally, Ye Shuping and his group escaped the giant lake’s perimeter. The moment their feet touched the shore, their figures vanished. The terrifying, giant spatial blades also disappeared without a trace.

A constant rumbling echoed from the earth. Before long, the lake water vanished, revealing a massive structure before Yu Fei’s eyes—a building that was both an Array and a mausoleum. It was made of a material that was neither metal nor wood, and its architectural style was utterly foreign.

The white light trapping Yu Fei dissipated, and he finally regained his mobility.

In the blink of an eye, the world had undergone a massive transformation. Ye Shuping and the others had been in mortal danger, but Yu Fei had been swept away and trapped by a beam of white light. Though he’d been trapped, Yu Fei felt it was more like he was being protected. The white light was essentially a physical manifestation of spatial power, operating on an incredibly advanced level. It had completely sealed off his teleportation and transport abilities until this very moment.

’What’s going on?’

’This is too weird.’ After he broke the seal, the ruin had started attacking everyone but him. ’Why? Could it be because of the Sword Qi I provided?’

His mind filled with questions, Yu Fei surveyed his surroundings.

The area was suffused with a dense spatial energy and covered in runes he couldn’t comprehend in the slightest. They radiated a potent, otherworldly aura, which led Yu Fei to conclude this was a different path of transcendent power.

As his gaze swept the area, he was startled to see a human figure. The man was dressed in archaic, blood-red robes. Seven emerald-green runic chains plunged deep into his heart, forming a unique Array. He was sealed within a massive amber-like Crystal Stone, preserved against the ravages of time.

Yu Fei stepped closer to examine it. The aura on the runic chains felt identical to the seal of the reddish-brown sword-eye from before.

’So this man was the core of the seal.’ It seemed he had been turned into the primary component of the seal itself. His soul had been annihilated, yet his physical body was bizarrely kept alive. His power was being channeled and extracted to form the seal. The outer layer had been broken by the Sword Qi, but Yu Fei could sense that the seal was slowly regenerating.

After studying it for a moment, Yu Fei turned his attention elsewhere. Through his senses, he felt the four Instant Teleportation Markers suddenly shift their locations. ’My teacher and the others must have been teleported away.’

At that moment, Yu Fei’s attention was captivated by the mausoleum-like building before him. Clearly, the sealed, strange man was just one part of the ruins. The true secrets lay within the mausoleum.

His senses swept over the structure, but he found no entrance. The building seemed to have been formed naturally, possessing no discernible passage for entry.

A crimson-gold light flickered in Yu Fei’s eyes as he pushed his X-ray vision to its absolute limit.

His vision penetrated the building’s outer surface. After struggling to push it five meters deeper, he finally saw the interior.

A flash of light sparked at his fingertip. A wisp of Sword Qi traversed space, appearing abruptly in the hall inside. Yu Fei’s figure flickered, and he was already inside the passage.

The instant Yu Fei set foot inside the mausoleum, a complex Array suddenly materialized beneath his feet. Its structure was three-dimensional, shimmering with an ethereal blue energy.

’Fuck, I was too reckless!’

This Array was identical to the one outside that had seized him. Yu Fei had assumed the intricate lines on the floor were merely decorative; he never imagined they served such a purpose. He tried to teleport, but in that same instant, he lost all connection to his teleportation markers.

Suddenly, several waves of light descended upon him. Yu Fei couldn’t dodge in time. The Gang Qi in his body was completely sealed. He threw a punch at the edge of the Array, but it didn’t even ripple. It felt like punching cotton—his force met no resistance and simply vanished.

’What is this power?’

’This is too bizarre. I was just supposed to be exploring some ruins and looking for information on Sima Hong. I never expected a turn of events like this.’

Yu Fei watched helplessly as the waves of light swept over him, unable to do a thing. He felt like a caged guinea pig.

Apprehensively, he waited, but the multicolored waves of light caused him no harm. The knot of tension in Yu Fei’s chest finally loosened.

After a long moment, the waves of light seemed to have confirmed whatever information they were seeking. Countless energy circuits lit up throughout the hall, and Yu Fei could hear a low, guttural roar.
