Evolvers are masters of life sciences. Their path is also conventionally the easiest way to achieve physical immortality, but their spiritual abilities are comparatively weak.

In the cosmos, every Extraordinary Being on the Evolver path is either researching life in a laboratory or out searching for materials.

As long as an Evolver accumulates enough knowledge and has sufficient resources, their power can transform at the fastest rate. However, this path is easily countered by Priests.

Coincidentally, several of the A-rank members of the Void God Sect, the great enemy of the Yuanchen humans, were Priests.

Unfortunately, this A-rank Evolver of the human race was bewitched and manipulated into attacking humanity.

His name was Lan Guiyun.

In the cosmos, the Priest is a very interesting Extraordinary path. Their power originates from Void Deities. While there are no truly sapient gods active in the physical world, Priests possess the ability to manifest legends into reality.

They collect legends, manipulate souls, and through rituals and enslavement, ultimately shape Void Deities to control their power.

After Lan Guiyun fell under their control, humanity was suddenly in grave danger, as both the Mechanist and Evolver paths are Extraordinary paths capable of fielding massive armies.

Cheng Shi sacrificed his life to devise a plan to annihilate the Void God Sect’s powerhouses in one fell swoop. Lan Guiyun regained his senses for a brief moment, only to discover that many of the Void God Sect’s A-rank Archbishops had not been completely killed. Their remnant souls merged with Cheng Shi’s Magic, gaining a portion of the Innate authority over the newly created borderlands.

These individuals lingered on after death. Their foundations had been destroyed by Cheng Shi, but they used a Secret Technique, hoping to become native gods to prolong their existence. This led to the birth of numerous other races.

Among them, an Archbishop named Owylis sent her remnant soul to infiltrate the Yuanchen Ancestral Star. It twisted the planet’s consciousness, subtly severed the historical records of the Yuanchen humans, corrupted their cultivation paths, and turned humanity’s powerhouses into her sustenance.

This was the conclusion Cheng Yu reached after studying the soul of a Martial Saint who had arrived here by chance twenty thousand years ago—the very same Sect Leader of the Demon Gate who was sealed within the amber Crystal Stone.

Cheng Yu drew this conclusion after studying the man’s soul.

Owylis’s remnant soul devoured the Gaia Consciousness of the Yuanchen Ancestral Star, becoming a conceptual existence.

For an Archbishop, this was actually an act that severed her path forward.

Priests are beings who were meant to fool gods and manipulate rules. However, out of desperation to survive, Owylis transformed into a native Gaia Consciousness. Although she gained a long life, her path forward was sealed.

Yet, after a long period of exploration, Owylis still found a path to ascension.

She polluted the world’s primal energy on the Yuanchen Ancestral Star. As a result, any human powerhouse at the Grandmaster level or above who advanced using this energy would have the origin of their soul devoured by her upon death. Furthermore, because the world’s primal energy was polluted, the potential for human powerhouses to advance beyond the Martial Saint realm was sealed off.

After Lan Guiyun briefly regained his senses, he rewrote the underlying code of the biomechanical weapon known as the Yuan Devils while in the Void Realm, commanding them to eliminate all humans on the Yuanchen Ancestral Star at the Grandmaster level or above in order to purify the Yuanchen human race.

Many details of the great war from forty thousand years ago are now lost to time. As Cheng Shi’s Magic Guardian Spirit, Cheng Yu does not have much information.

Looking back today, both Lan Guiyun’s and Cheng Shi’s arrangements for the fate of the humans on the Ancestral Star led to significant unforeseen changes. The A-rank Archbishops of the Void God Sect also suffered heavy losses.
