Chapter 691: Chapter 425: The Sun and Moon Emperor’s Doubts! Proposal to Appoint Lu Xuan as Imperial General!_3

How can these self-proclaimed noble families accept this?

Sun and Moon Yingshu completely ignored the few shouting noble council members, her cool gaze slowly sweeping over the entire hall.

She declared again, "Let the voting begin."

In the next moment, the hall suddenly illuminated with dazzling golden starlight—on each council member’s seat, a beam of golden light rose in succession, symbolizing an affirmative vote.

In just a moment, aside from less than ten stubbornly opposing noble council members, the entire council hall was already enveloped by a resplendent sea of gold stars.

Princess Sun and Moon Yingshu nodded slightly, unsurprised by this result.

What a joke, you think when asked to vote, you actually vote?

Did you not see the princess already speaking, clearly informing that this is a joint resolution by the seven major council members—the so-called vote is merely a formality.

Who would dare truly oppose? Wouldn’t that be seeking death?

In this hall, which of these noble council members aren’t savvy?

Over half immediately cast a wise approving vote, while the few still trying to persist looked around and saw even their most steadfast supporters had raised their hands in agreement, rendering themselves stuck in place.

They looked at each other, faces alternating between blue and white, looking like a group of clowns pushed onto stage—a stage that’s already been dismantled, only leaving them posturing there.

"Motion passed, meeting adjourned!"

After Sun and Moon Yingshu finished speaking, amidst a flash of dazzling gold starlight, she disappeared completely.

Outside the Sacred Sun and Moon Temple gates, ten guards responsible for watching the gate quickly made way upon seeing Sun and Moon Yingshu appear.

The temple doors closed again, the inner temple vast beyond compare, several dozen palaces located within. Sun and Moon Yingshu ignored each royal family member, heading directly to the main hall.

"Come in."

An old yet authoritative voice echoed from within the hall, and upon hearing it, Sun and Moon Yingshu adjusted her robe and walked in slowly.

Deep within the main hall, an elderly man in a gold-embroidered imperial robe stood quietly.

The pattern on the robe of the sun and moon illuminated by jewels and brilliant lights sparkled with stunning colors, belonging to today’s supreme ruler of Sun and Moon Empire—the Sun and Moon Emperor.

"Father," Sun and Moon Yingshu slightly bent, "The council has passed the resolution, Lu Xuan has been appointed Imperial General, but... could such a promotion be too hasty?"

It turns out, behind the unanimous decision by the seven major council members was the personal directive of the Sun and Moon Emperor.

"Whether it’s too hasty, time will reveal," the Sun and Moon Emperor’s aged face showed an inscrutable smile, "I wish to observe a while longer; Lu Xuan’s actions truly puzzle me."

"Indeed puzzling." Sun and Moon Yingshu frowned slightly, "He clearing deep crimson monsters outside the safety zones seems valiant, but it’s merely meaningless battles."

This is the common perplexity shared by the Sun and Moon court.

According to the established strategy of the Sun and Moon Empire, it suffices to clear the deep crimson monster threats within a thousand miles outside the safety zones.

As for the further away wastelands, some deep crimson monster tribes fight among themselves and devour one another, others wander aimlessly, sparing no time to invade the Empire’s ten defined safety-zone territories.

More critically, these deep crimson monsters seem to never be completely eradicated—even if cleared out, soon they mysteriously reappear from some corner.

Therefore, to the upper echelons of Sun and Moon Empire, Lu Xuan’s painstaking expeditions for extermination seem to be pointless efforts, needlessly wasting precious starlight power within his body.
