Chapter 715: Chapter 434: Talismans and Rifles! All Evils Repelled! Nothing Forbidden! (Part 2)
Over three hundred people, including Deputy Mo, were all frantically searching for their distributed Exorcism Talismans.
They mimicked the manner of the Feng Shui Master, slapping the talismans onto themselves with urgency.
When there was no more space on their chests, they stuck them onto their arms and thighs, and some even helped each other put them on their backs.
In a blink, nearly every one of the three hundred was adorned with several crimson talismans, looking less like a military unit prepared to rob a tomb.
And more like an army of talisman paper dolls newly consecrated from a Taoist temple, solemnly facing the opened black coffin.
At the moment the black coffin was pried open, revealing the mummified corpse of an old Taoist in a yellow robe inside.
"Whoosh——!"
Within the tomb chamber, a cold whirlwind arose out of nowhere!
The flames of the torches inserted in the corners were suddenly pressed low by this evil wind, flickering madly, their light unstable, as if about to extinguish at any moment, plunging the entire chamber back into absolute darkness!
Almost simultaneously, the originally bright daylight descending from the overhead entrance rapidly dimmed and grew dusky, becoming visibly darker with incredible speed!
Outside the tomb, high in the sky, the clear blue sky was suddenly overrun by dark clouds as thick as ink, rolling and congregating, quickly concealing the sun.
The world fell into dimness, as if evening had arrived prematurely!
Internal and external changes erupted with sudden phenomena! This was no mere coincidence.
Everyone in the chamber, even the most ordinary soldier, felt an inexplicable and terrifying pressure.
It was as though something extremely horrifying had been disturbed, now slowly awakening from its slumber.
The Feng Shui Master looked at the Compass in his hand, the needle spinning madly, and muttered with a pale face, "The evil energy surges to the heavens, triggering celestial alterations... It’s over; we’ve truly disturbed the big one!"
Lu Xuan, using the Celestial Eye Talisman, had been observing all the chaos happening beneath the tomb chamber.
When he saw the external sky change color, he didn’t panic; instead, he curled his lips into a playful smile.
"Interesting..." he murmured to himself, his gaze seemingly penetrating the earth layers, "This monster seems to have amassed formidable power, its evil energy so repressed that its first outburst altered the celestial phenomena, disturbing the regional aura."
"Commander, the sky is turning ominous, it looks like... it looks like it’s about to pour rain."
A cautious squad leader from the army surveyed the situation, seeing Lu Xuan’s calmness despite the sudden weather change, quickly ran forward fawning.
Behind him followed five or six clever soldiers, who efficiently with a "swish" opened up a giant Oil Paper Umbrella.
They held it steadfastly over Lu Xuan’s head, sheltering him from the impending storm.
Inside the tomb, the balance between yin and yang was completely disrupted, fierce winds rose, carrying debris and grit.
The limited torch flames swayed wildly in the wind, their light drastically shrinking, on the verge of being entirely extinguished, abandoning everyone to darkness and the unknown!
Just then——"Stick the talismans on your guns and on the torches."
A clear voice, as if right beside his ear, directly entered Deputy Mo’s mind!
"It’s the Commander’s voice!" Deputy Mo was momentarily stunned, then his face burst with joy, and he immediately hollered, using all his might to roar over the howling wind.
"Quick! Everyone listen up! The Commander orders us—stick the Exorcism Talismans on your guns! Stick one on the torches too! Hurry!"
The command was passed down layer by layer.
The soldiers near the torches, upon hearing the order, promptly tore off a still-intact crimson talisman from themselves, hastily sticking it onto the torch handle!
A miraculous scene unfolded!
The instant the talisman was adhered, the nearly extinguished flame seemed infused with a powerful energy.
With a "boom," it flared up, the flames instantly becoming stable and fierce, emitting a faint golden red glow.
No matter how the wind raged, it stood firm and unmoved!
It was as if the very light of this flame carried with it a suppressive force capable of overwhelming evil and stabilizing the universe!
Witnessing the immediate and miraculous effect the talismans had on the torches, all the soldiers in the tomb burst with fervent admiration, looking at their remaining Exorcism Talismans with newfound reverence.
"Quick! Stick them on the guns!"
"Wrap the talismans around!"
With shouts, the soldiers sprang into action, carefully and solemnly wrapping the life-saving crimson talismans around their rifles.
The cold steel fused with the talisman paper imbued with mystical powers, as if consecrating these modern weapons with a divine aura, adding a sense of unassailable righteous power against evil.
Deputy Mo and the Feng Shui Master led by example.
Deputy Mo loaded his pistol with a "click," then with great solemnity, took out a beautifully preserved yellow talisman paper and expertly wrapped it around the entire gun.
The Feng Shui Master did the same, wrapping his defensive pistol tightly in talisman paper.
In no time, an "Exorcizing Army" adorned with hundreds of talismans formed within this ancient tomb!
The soldiers gripped their "blessed" rifles, their fear replaced by an unprecedented courage.
With the Commander’s Divine Talismans for protection, they feared no evil!
They closed ranks, forming a circular formation, points of their guns unified, glaring at the open black coffin and the deeper main coffin, preparing for any eventuality!
Just as the soldiers completed their talisman endowment, formation barely formed—
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
A series of explosive sounds as coffin lids were sent flying by tremendous force echoed throughout the chamber!
Dozens of remaining black coffins, including the nine blood-red ones guarding the main coffin, had their lids simultaneously blasted open from within!
