Chapter 126: Celestial Treasury II
Chapter 126: Celestial Treasury II
Damian was standing in front of the spatial crack, a crack that looked more like a wound on reality than a normal gateway.
Huge waves of energy were pouring out from inside it, the air around was trembling slowly.
Even Nova, who had grown up her whole life in one of the most powerful guilds in the world, felt her heart become a little heavy.
Seris also fixed her gaze on the crack for a few moments, there was something inside it, something very old, something whose greatness could be felt even from this distance.
Lian was also a little surprised, even he who had grown up in this clan did not expect that the Celestial Treasury was actually inside a pocket dimension.
But with a second thought it seemed logical, a treasury that could hold treasures, weapons and items from 9 different worlds, would have to be as big as an entire dimension.
Damian placed his hands behind his back, his eyes moved over all three for a moment and then he said.
"Maybe the greatest treasure house in the world is right here."
"At least as far as I know, there is no treasury with this volume of legacies, ancient artifacts and forgotten treasures."
"Some of the things sleeping inside this treasury, were obtained from civilizations that might be older than the entire history of our world."
"Inside this treasury there are things that have been collected from 9 different worlds, saying it is easy, but I am sure you cannot even imagine what that means." He paused briefly.
"You are lucky to have been allowed to enter it, this is an opportunity that, if you were not blessed enough to be born with Vorhelm blood, you could never have."
Nova took a quiet breath and then stared at the crack and asked.
"When we go in, how do we find what we need? There must be millions of items in there."
Damian gave a faint smile.
"That is where it gets interesting." He pointed at the crack.
"The Celestial Treasury is not just a big warehouse, at the center of this dimension, there is a consciousness, a consciousness that protects the entire treasury."
None of the three were that surprised, this was a normal matter, for protecting such places, spiritual consciousnesses or artificial consciousnesses were used.
With science, artificial consciousness could be created, and with magic, spiritual consciousnesses could be created, this was the science and technology that all organizations and powers in the world used.
Damian continued.
"As soon as you enter, each of you will be separated from the others, sent to different sections, there is no way to find each other."
"And no one can affect another’s path." He paused for a moment.
"What you find depends on yourselves, on luck, on fate and on the choices you make inside the treasury."
"I thought there was no limit." Lian frowned.
"There is no limit in terms of choice, anything you find and have the conditions to take, is yours, of course, as you know, some weapons have their own spirits, if you find a spirit weapon, the weapon’s spirit must approve of you." Damian nodded.
"But the number of choices and the time are limited."
Then he fixed his gaze on Lian.
"First place, Lian Vorhelm, you have three choices and thirty minutes."
Then his gaze went to Seris.
"Second place, Seris Pendragon, two choices and twenty minutes."
And finally he looked at Nova.
"Third place, Nova Drachheart, one choice and ten minutes."
"After the time ends, the treasury will forcefully eject you." He then added.
No one objected, maybe the number they could take was small but they did not care much about it, in fact, none of them even had time to think about these limitations.
Their minds were completely occupied by the massive crack in front of them.
"It is time now, I wish you the best." Damian stepped aside.
Nova was the first one, without hesitation she entered the crack, her body disappeared into the light.
Seris was the next one, she just gave Lian a quick look, a look whose meaning was not clear, then she calmly entered the gateway and disappeared.
Finally only Lian remained, he looked at the crack for a few seconds, then without any hesitation he stepped forward and entered.
Light, pressure, energy and then... silence... he felt his whole body floating in an ocean of light.
Time had lost its meaning, space did not exist, directions had disappeared, but a few moments later everything suddenly became calm.
His feet landed on a solid surface, Lian slowly opened his eyes and for a few seconds he showed no reaction, because of what was in front of him.
His eyes slowly widened, the entire horizon in front of him was covered with treasures, but not like a warehouse and not like a normal treasury, but like a complete world.
A golden sky was spread above him, clouds of light were floating in the heights, massive crystal pillars stretched up to the middle of the sky.
Some of them were so tall that their ends could not be seen, among those pillars rivers of light were flowing.
Of course, not water, but pure energy, floating islands were suspended in the air, on some of them legendary swords were placed, on others floating books whose pages were turning by themselves.
Trees could be seen that carried shining crystals instead of leaves, each branch of them had a value that could make a clan rich.
In the distance armors were suspended, armors that even from hundreds of meters away were releasing massive pressure.
There were swords that seemed alive by themselves, spears around which storms had formed.
Books from whose pages celestial light was coming out, stones inside which stars were imprisoned.
And thousands... no... millions of other treasures.
Lian breathed slowly, in his life he had seen many things and heard about many things... monsters that could destroy cities, ruins in previous Ruined Realms that dated back to forgotten ages.
Legacies that had caused the massacre of clans.
But here... this place... was on another level, it was like the true heaven of treasures.
Everything he looked at had unimaginable value.
Even the weakest item he saw could probably start a war, after a long time he was truly amazed.
At that moment... a voice echoed in his mind, a voice that was neither male nor female, neither old nor young, and a voice that seemed to originate from the world itself.
"Welcome!..."
Lian immediately frowned, his eyes searched around, but there was no one there, but if his guess was not wrong, this voice must belong to the consciousness of this treasury.
The voice repeated again.
"Your time has begun, you have thirty minutes and three choices, so you better not waste your opportunity!"
The next moment the entire world in front of him began to shine; millions of treasures simultaneously emitted a faint light.
"But how should I choose?" he stared ahead with a frown.
If he wanted to see each and every one of these treasures and items and examine them one by one, he could easily take decades and maybe hundreds of years.
And as far as he could see and guess... this was only a small part of the entire Celestial Treasury.
"My god... the current generation of Vorhelms seem completely trash... but it seems I had really good ancestors."
