Chapter 509: This Light Faith Is Not Very Friendly

"Wait!"

His command made everyone stop.

The priest took one step forward, the light around Kain’s fingers was still moving and the man’s eyes opened slightly wider.

"That light ...." He looked carefully for a few seconds and then the color of his face changed.

His first disbelief was replaced by something close to anger.

"This is The Tear of Witness..."

Kain stayed silent for a moment, Lian also heard the word.

Tear of Witness.

So they finally had a more specific name for it, although this name seemed more like a local name than something completely accurate.

"Honored priest, are you sure?" The commander of the soldiers looked at the priest.

"I am sure, this is sacred light, only the Tear of Witness can create such pure light, this is the outsider who stole the Tear of Witness! The same tear that the Divine Of Light created for us!"

"Outsider! Return that tear and you will be forgiven!" One of the priests turned toward Kain and said calmly.

"Forgiven? The tear itself chose me, I am not going to return something to people who wanted to kill me until a few moments ago." Kain looked at them with mockery

"Look at him. He carries the sacred light and still refuses to return it, he must be punished!" The youngest priest said with disgust.

"He is touching the light with those filthy hands."

"That light does not belong to you, outsider."

"You stole something that was never meant for you. Do you really think you have the right to use it?" The elder priest looked at Kain with hidden anger, still trying to keep his anger under control.

"Stealing? The tear itself chose me, what is my fault if your god thinks you are useless?" Kain said honestly.

Lian barely held back his laughter.

But this only increased the tension.

All three priests could no longer hold back their anger.

"Capture that outsider alive!"

"And do not worry. We will cut those hands off before taking the Tear back."

"Capture that one alive!" The commander did not waste even a moment thinking.

Several soldiers immediately changed their formation, the people who had been surrounding One until a moment ago changed their path.

"Here we go again." Kain gave Lian a quick look.

"At least we know its name this time."

"That was very helpful, but isn’t Divine Of Light’s Tear better? Why would they call it the Tear of Witness?"

"It seems that Tear of Witness is more like a special name rather than a name everyone uses, if you noticed, the other natives of Region Three we encountered called it Divine Of Light’s Tear." Lian answered after thinking for a moment.

This was the first time they had heard the words Tear of Witness, and the person who had used them was a priest.

The priests might have a completely different view of the tear, and because of that, they used a more specific name for it.

"You barbarian outsiders do not deserve to have the Tear of Witness! I will take it back." The priest then said in a calm and emotionless tone, but with complete certainty.

The first soldier closed the distance, his spear was covered in light and its tip was coming directly toward Kain’s shoulder.

But before he entered attack range, Lian was already in front of him, the attacker did not even understand what had happened for a moment.

He grabbed the body of the spear with one hand, the man immediately tried to pull it back but ...the spear did not move.

The young Vorhelm turned his body, and the attacker was lifted off the ground together with his own weapon.

Boom!

His back crashed into the stone floor of the square.

Lian released the spear and moved forward without stopping, the second soldier came from the right and his short sword cut a fast line toward Lian’s side.

He moved half a step to the side, the edge of the blade passed in front of his clothes, his hand landed on the man’s shoulder.

He applied a little pressure ...that was all.

Crack!

The soldier’s body hit a stone pillar and fell to the ground.

Three more moved forward at the same time, one from above, the second directly from the front, and the third from the side, but Lian did not even look at all three of them.

He grabbed the first soldier’s hand, spun the soldier’s body in the air, and used that same body as an attack.

Boom!

The other two soldiers went down under the weight of their own companion.

Kain, who was fighting two attackers several meters away, looked over for a moment. ℯℯ𝑙.

"Leave some for me too, I want to see what fighting other Light Element users is like."

Lian grabbed the wrist of another soldier and pulled his weapon out of his hand.

"We don’t have time to waste, if you really want to fight them then be faster."

Kain smiled and said nothing else, an attacker came from behind him, and he allowed him to get close first.

A moment before the attack landed, the light around his left hand became dense like a cover, the attacker’s forearm hit it and its path was deflected.

Kain placed his other palm on the man’s chest.

Boom!

A wave of light pushed him several meters backward.

The next soldier swung his sword from below to above, he took one step backward, allowed the blade to pass in front of him, and then sent a short beam toward the ground beside the attacker.

Tak!

The stone exploded and the man lost his balance.

Kain pushed him away with his glowing fist, it was not bad for himself.

But the real difference in power became clear when four more soldiers moved toward him at the same time.

He increased the amount of light.

But it seemed he did not need to....Lian passed through them at that moment.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four strikes.

Crack!

Boom!

Tak!

Boom!

Four bodies fell to the ground almost less than a second apart.

"You are really annoying sometimes, those were mine!" Kain stayed silent for a few moments.

"You’re slow."

Kain was about to answer when the three priests finally moved.

And at that exact moment, the atmosphere of the square changed.

The first priest slammed his staff onto the ground.

Thoom!

The old grooves between the stone floor of the square lit up with white light.

The second priest raised both hands, two mirror plates on the surrounding towers began to rotate.

The third priest closed his eyes and whispered a sentence in an ancient language.

Three beams rose from the towers into the sky but stopped several dozen meters above.

Then three white circles formed one after another, each one was somewhat like a sun, but more accurately, they were three cores made of extremely dense light.

Each one shone in the air like a white, shadowless plate.

[Three Shadowless Suns Array.]

At that moment, the first sun lit up, and all the shadows in the square became faint.

Lian felt that every flow of mana leaving his body left a white trail behind it.

Kain took one step to test it, even the simple movement of mana around his hand was recorded as a bright line in the air.

"Nothing can hide from the judgment of light here." The first priest said.

The second sun lit up.

Boom!

Pressure came down from above, the stone under Kain’s feet cracked and his body bent for a moment, one of his knees almost touching the ground.

"Damn it..."

One spread its legs wider, but its huge body lowered.

Even Lian felt more weight on his shoulders, not enough to stop his movement, but enough that he could not ignore it.

Then the third sun activated.

The mirror plates on several nearby buildings lit up at the same time.

The young Vorhelm gathered a small amount of ice in his hand and sent only a simple projectile toward one of the priests.

But before it could hit, light struck one of the mirrors and the path of the attack was deflected.

The ice projectile came out from another direction and hit a wall farther away.

Boom!

He moved his eyes across the mirrors, the three priests were not the main source of this power.

The city was.

These people only knew how to activate part of a structure that had been built centuries ago and use it for themselves.

This was probably some kind of defensive mechanism belonging to the city that these people knew how to activate and use.

He now understood what his instincts had been warning him about, more interestingly, the priests had directly activated it.

One of the priests reached his hand toward Lian, three beams moved from the mirrors at the same time.
