I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 535: The Secret of the Seven Crystals

  • Next Chapter

For a moment, everything stopped in Lian’s mind, he now understood, he now fucking understood how that commander had identified him as the same Dormant Calamity before his death.

The Region Six commander had seen that after the Leviathan died, he had been able to use the power of that monster.

For someone who knew that interpretation of the prophecy, the conclusion was not very strange, but this part was not really important.

There was something else.

Region One.

If the prophecy was real, if it had predicted the Tear of Witness, the Sphere of Witness, and the Child of Light more than ten years before Kain was born...and they had even been able to predict him...

What did they know about him?

Did they know about the Innate Skill Glutton?

What about Butcher?

Did they know that he could have Cores like monsters?

And did they even know about the nature of the Ruin Heart?

He felt his fingers become tense for a moment.

No.

The conclusion was too early.

It was possible that they only had a few vague sentences and generations had built interpretations around them.

But even this possibility made Region One dangerous, because they might know things they should not know.

They had practically revealed all of his biggest secrets through that prophecy, fortunately, it was a prophecy and every sentence could have thousands of interpretations.

But that did not make the situation much better, it could still be a disaster for him.

Orlian was looking at him.

"If the report is correct, which it seems to be, then I guess the last interpretation is correct, right?"

Lian raised his head and looked at the Lord, this man might now be someone who had understood one of his secrets, that he could use the power of monsters.

But he could not do anything, this man at least had the power of an Awakened who had gone through three evolutions, and if he wanted to make a more exact guess, he should not be far from Level 80.

"So it is true....don’t worry, you are our guest, and although I don’t know why, our god has chosen you and your friend as our future leaders, your secret will be safe with me."

"Thank you."

He did not know how much he could trust him, but the situation was not so bad that he could not control everything.

"I will try to hide anything related to you as much as possible, the main problem is not the Child of Light for the six Regions, they are worried about the appearance of his companion...and it is not even said that they will appear together."

Orlian answered calmly.

"This way, I will owe you too much."

Lian smiled.

"This is not only for you, it is also for us, if they find out that the Dormant Calamity has appeared, we will definitely become the target of a full-scale attack from all of them..."

"Even if they want to launch a full-scale attack, isn’t this place safe?"

"It should be safe, until today no one has been able to destroy the defenses of the Regions, but Region One worries me too much, I feel like they may have a way."

"I understand."

The young Vorhelm thought for a moment and then asked.

"How much do you think they know about the complete truth of the prophecy?"

"The original version came from there, what we have is the version that was given to Region 3, so they may have more information than us, but I would not worry too much, if they knew your face, they would already be looking for you."

He nodded, he was growing at an incredible speed and it should not take too long before no one could be a threat to him anymore.

Even so, he really wanted to know what the interpretation of the sentence "When the heart becomes complete and the Dormant Calamity stands at the edge of the end" would be.

He could understand that the meaning of the heart becoming complete was the completion of the five slots of the Ruin Heart.

But what interpretation did standing at the edge of the end have?

"As long as the Child of Light is here, you are also a guest of Region Three, so I hope you enjoy your time here as much as possible."

Orlian did not ask any more questions and instead said.

"Thank you for your hospitality, but I am not going to stay for long."

Lian nodded.

The Lord gave him a short look.

But he did not ask why.

He only moved his hand toward the door.

"Then you should not spend the rest of your time inside a hall."

The door opened.

This time, another young woman entered the hall, she was a few years older than Elara and looked around twenty-six.

Her golden hair was longer and tied simply behind her head.

Unlike her younger sister, her clothes looked less religious, white and gold, but suitable for movement.

A natural smile was on her face.

Cassia Veyra.

"My eldest daughter."

"I heard our city found some interesting guests today, welcome."

Cassia respectfully lowered her head toward Lian.

Her tone was completely different from Elara’s, warmer.

"Cassia, until the ceremony is over, show our guest around the city."

Orlian gestured toward his daughter.

"With pleasure."

She answered without hesitation.

Lian exchanged a short look between the father and daughter.

Apparently, not every member of this family was going to think the end of the world was near just because they saw him, unlike Elara.

Outside the hall, Cassia walked beside him for a few steps.

"Did my sister treat you coldly?"

She asked after a few seconds.

"You got straight to the point."

He gave her a short look.

Cassia laughed.

"I could tell from your reaction to me."

"Yes."

"It is not personal."

"I am still not sure about that part."

"Elara takes the prophecy very seriously."

Cassia gave another short laugh.

"I am also starting to take it seriously."

Lian answered.

She looked at him with curiosity for a few moments.

"Even so, you don’t look very worried."

"Worrying does not change anything."

"That answer sounds a lot like my father."

The tour of the city was interesting, unlike what Lian had expected.

Not because of the large buildings, but because Region 3 really had the structure of a living society.

The herb market was full of the strong smells of roots and interesting flowers, each of them had different properties.

In the healer section, several entire buildings were dedicated to treating physical injuries, poison, and Soul injuries.

Water channels passed through very old paths, and in several places, faint light rose from their floors.

Cassia explained.

"The water network has remained since before the Fall, a large part of the city was built on that old design."

After that, they passed a group of children wearing the same white clothes and practicing Light control in a large courtyard.

Some could only create a small point of light.

Some could move it between their fingers, and one of them directly shined his light on his friend’s face and made the other one angrily chase after him.

With the clothes they were wearing, they looked like young priests, or at least people who would soon become priests.

"The Priest Preparatory School, from this age they learn the teachings and traditions, and after the age of 16, they are taught how to use Light."

Cassia said with a smile.

When they reached the central part of the city, the streets became wider, the buildings moved farther away, and a huge square appeared in front of them.

Lian first noticed the channels, twelve water paths entered the square from different parts of the city.

But there were also strands of Light among them, they came out from underground, from the walls, and from the towers, and all of them reached the center of the square.

He took a few more steps forward and stopped.

A huge crystal was floating in the center of the square, it was more than thirty meters tall and had a semi-transparent structure, and white-golden light rose from deep inside it.

Bright lines slowly moved inside it, almost like watching the flow of blood inside a huge creature.

There was no base underneath it.

The crystal floated several meters above the central stone platform.

Strands of Light came out from it, one group went toward the border towers, another part went toward the farming lands, paths went toward the water channels, and much stronger strands went toward the huge defensive barrier surrounding the entire Region.

"The Heart of the Region."

Cassia said with clear pride.

Lian did not answer, something about the shape of the crystal looked familiar, he knew this thing, every Awakened knew it.

This was that crystal, at least one of the Seven Crystals and the final goal of all Awakened in the Ruined Realm, to collect them.

The reason?

It was simple, collecting all seven Crystals and destroying them would cleanse and completely close the Ruined Realm, and the monsters would no longer be able to enter their world through them.

"The Divine Gift of the Divine Of Light and Life to our ancestors, and the reason Region 3 is still alive after all these centuries."

She added.

Lian stayed silent, so the seven Crystals that all Awakened were searching for were the main source of the shelters’ defenses.

He looked more carefully at the strands of Light, the reason even the Demons had not been able to take these regions.

The reason for the defensive barrier, the source of the city network, was this thing.

To take this Crystal, Region 3 would have to lose the heart of its own defense.

And if all seven were needed?

All the Regions.

"Does every one of the seven Regions have one of these?"

He only asked, he already knew the answer, but he had to make sure.

Cassia answered without the slightest doubt.

"Of course, the appearance and properties of every heart are different, because each one is connected to one of the Seven Divines.

But every shelter has a heart."

That was enough.

But the information he had now could change the Federation’s relationship with all seven Regions forever.

And there was an even worse question.

How much did the Federation know about this truth?

He knew there were rumors and guesses saying that the Seven Crystals were inside the seven Regions.

And now, from his point of view, the guess had been confirmed, but were the Federation and the other forces also certain?

"Maybe I can use this."

He thought for a moment, a simple idea came to his mind that maybe with its help, he could destroy all six other Regions.

And this way, only Region Three and the followers of the Divine Of Light would remain and all the enemies would be eliminated.

Several hours later, Lian returned to their accommodation and had not even entered the room when he heard Kain’s voice.

"If you say one word, I will kill you."
