Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Alien Race’s Preparations

After the disappearance of the Great Saint of the Winged Race, the clan was currently led by a Saint Realm expert named Alden.

He was the one leading this delegation, bearing gifts to make amends.

They had brought several beauties carefully selected from within the clan, precious rare metals, mineral materials, Sky-Splitting Crystals, and Inheritance Secret Techniques. As for the most important item... he glanced at a specific box.

"Alden," a voice called out. At that moment, an Elf Saint Realm expert flew over from the Elf Race camp not far away.

His name was Rick.

Yesterday, these two Saint Realm experts had been the ones observing the battle from afar.

Right now, Rick swept his Divine Thought over the Winged Race’s delegation, but he didn’t discover anything out of the ordinary.

"What’s wrong, Rick?" Alden naturally detected the other party’s Divine Thought and narrowed his eyes. "What kind of gifts has your Elf Race prepared?"

"About the same as yours," Rick shook his head.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Yesterday, seeing the way Alden had hurried away so anxiously, it was obvious that the man had an idea in mind. Was it not an object?

He suddenly looked at a young girl in the Winged Race delegation who appeared to be only thirteen or fourteen years old. To have reached the Divine Thought realm at such a young age! Could it be...

"Don’t misunderstand," Alden noticed his gaze and chuckled softly. "This is Annie. She was originally a maid to the Violet Queen. She returned to our clan a while ago, and now we are simply escorting her back."

The truth, of course, was not that simple. After Annie had returned, she had been secretly gathering information related to the origins of the foreign races. Following the disappearance of the Great Saint, her actions had been discovered, and she was immediately detained. It was only now that they had no choice but to send her back.

If they were counting on her to put in a good word for them, the Winged Race would be doomed.

However, Rick was unaware of this. His pupils shrank, clearly believing Alden’s explanation. He thought about how the Winged Race appeared arrogant on the surface, yet had sneakily sent one of their own into the human world to establish a connection one step ahead of everyone else. How despicable! How shameless!

"And what about your Elf Race?" Alden turned his gaze toward the Elf Race’s delegation. He didn’t find anything particularly special either, aside from the presence of another female Elf Saint Realm expert.

"We discussed this all night," Rick said expressionlessly. "We debated what to give, what stance to take, and what outcome to strive for. In the end, Teresa convinced us with her wisdom and determination."

"Teresa..." Alden remembered this female elf. She was one of the youngest Saint Realm experts to emerge in the Elf Race in recent years. Wait a minute...

"Teresa... she hasn’t found a partner yet, has she?" Alden’s eyes widened in sheer astonishment. "You’re actually planning to offer a female Saint Realm member of your clan!?"

"It was Teresa’s own decision," Rick replied, still expressionless.

"Are you crazy? She’s a Saint Realm expert!" Alden found this hard to accept.

A single Saint Realm expert was capable of propping up an entire clan. As for the beauties the Winged Race had prepared, let alone the Saint Realm, none of them had even reached the Divine Thought realm. After all, this was not a marriage alliance. It was merely a gift. Even if the clanswomen they gifted were handed over to someone else or outright sold off, they would have no right to interfere. To give away a Saint Realm powerhouse...

"Could it be that you intend to submit?" Alden’s expression turned incredibly ugly as this possibility dawned on him.

Rick remained silent, which was essentially a tacit admission.

"Have you lost your minds?" Alden couldn’t help but lower his voice, his eyes filled with fury. "That’s a human powerhouse. Are you planning to betray the Alliance?"

If the Elf Race fully submitted, the Winged Race would undoubtedly be thrust into an extremely awkward position. The foreign race Alliance was practically held together entirely by their two clans. When that time came, let alone resisting Violet, even the Beastman Race might not continue to follow them. Realizing this outcome, Alden wanted to curse aloud. Despicable! Shameless!

"Alden, you are truly as naive as ever." A mocking smile curled Rick’s lips. "Did last night not make the difference in our strength clear enough to you?"

"He is very strong, but he is not a deity. Even the Ancestor of Holy Light from eight hundred years ago..."

"The Ancestor of Holy Light refused to accept you, not the other way around," Rick interrupted unceremoniously. "Eight hundred years ago, you had three Great Saints. What do you have now? To us, what is the difference between a Half-Step Deity and a true deity? Even if the Great Saint of your Winged Race returns, could he withstand even a single strike?"

These words were like sharp daggers, every sentence plunging into Alden’s barely maintained dignity. He opened his mouth, wanting to say that he had also prepared a very important item. Yet, the words caught in his throat. No amount of preparation could mask the massive gap in strength. It was even possible that, combined, all of their clansmen wouldn’t be able to resist a single blow.

At this moment, Alicia flew over from a distance. "Master is waiting. Everyone, please follow me, meow."

"Alicia..." Alden forced a smile. He was just about to say something when Alicia turned and walked away.

In this catgirl’s heart, a deep resentment still lingered toward the Winged Race for leaving them to die. This animosity wasn’t just about the present. Even ten years ago, they had refused to grant asylum to her human husband.

Rick, on the other hand, didn’t say a word. He returned to the Elf Race delegation and followed closely behind Alicia.

Alden’s mood grew worse and worse. As the beautiful race closest to the sky, the arrogance of the Winged Race was carved into their very bones. But now, with every step he took, he felt as though he was drawing nearer to an abyss of humiliation. Yet, what was destined to come would eventually arrive.

They arrived at a beautiful lake where Shen Yun and Vierlia were standing.

"Your Majesty!" Before anyone else could speak, a figure rushed forward at top speed. It was Annie, who threw herself directly into Vierlia’s embrace.

"Welcome back," Vierlia gently stroked the top of Annie’s head, finally breathing a sigh of relief. Her proposal that morning to visit the Winged Race had been entirely for Annie’s sake. She had initially sent the young girl back to gather information about the Bronze Hall, but she had been gone for far too long with no news. It was impossible for Vierlia not to worry.

Shen Yun glanced at the young girl from the Winged Race and noticed that she was secretly peeking at him as well. It was just... what was up with that incredibly aggrieved look in her eyes?

At this moment, Rick stepped forward first. With impeccable etiquette, he declared, "On behalf of the Elf Race, Rick congratulates Your Highness, the Prince Consort, on defeating the Demon King and preventing the return of darkness. We present our gifts."

"I appreciate the thought," Shen Yun said mildly. "What kind of gifts did you bring?"

"Yes, we have prepared a list." Rick presented a list he had been holding. Xiaojiu stepped up to receive it. After opening and scanning the contents, she said softly with an expressionless face, "These are all useless and uninteresting things."

A cold sweat broke out on Rick’s forehead. Written at the very top of that list... was an Elf Maiden Saint Realm expert.
