Chapter 156: Chapter 140: 1 Million Yin Demons Completely Annihilated
Fu Jian, possessing a keen talent for gaming—or rather, a talent for combat—immediately began studying the items in the store to figure out how to maximize their utility!
Blood Bottles, mana potions, and titles had limited uses, their roles already clearly defined.
The Detonator Talisman, however, was different.
While everyone else dismissed it as an unorthodox trick—a low-level, expensive item with mediocre damage output—Fu Jian fell into deep thought. One or two talismans might not pack much of a punch, but what about ten? A hundred? What if a million of them exploded simultaneously? Just how devastating would that be?
His eyes suddenly lit up. He decided to pull off something massive: unite the players and put on an explosive show!
As the number one alliance in the Divine War Game, his call to action naturally rallied countless supporters. After all, if someone like Wang Dazhi—who had been on the embarrassing fail leaderboard—could wield immense influence, Fu Jian’s top alliance certainly could. Countless players immediately responded to his summons.
In Fallen God Canyon.
The world turned upside down. A mushroom cloud rolled with a shockwave, erupting with a massive boom that sent countless dry bones flying into the air. It was a spectacular sight.
"It’s not over yet. Since you’ve stepped into our Detonation Array, you can all go to hell!" Fu Jian said calmly, hiding within the dark mist.
His clear, bright eyes resembled those of an owl in the night. Profound and piercing, they flashed with a cold light from beneath his iron armor.
"RUMBLE..."
"RUMBLE..."
Before his voice could even fade, the massive Fallen God Canyon was engulfed by another giant shockwave. This explosive art swept beneath the heavens, turning the canyon into something resembling a churned-up mud pond.
The world was filled with black mist, spiraling white bones, and... the blood and severed limbs of Yin Demons! The earth shattered and the sky tore apart.
"ROAR..."
"AHH..."
The screams of the Yin Demons flickered faintly amid the howling wind before being completely drowned out by the deafening explosions. The entire landscape was ravaged by tornado-like natural disasters. The Yin Demons had been ambushed and suffered catastrophic casualties.
A murderous intent curled at the corner of Fu Jian’s lips, his eyes surging with icy resolve.
"Kill!" That single word made him seem like a descending Asura Dao King.
Once the explosions momentarily subsided, the Ten Thousand Races Alliance—who had been lying in ambush within the safe zone—launched their attack, mercilessly kicking the Yin Demons while they were down. One by one, they emerged from behind the dark mist.
Some Yin Demons, who had just landed and were lucky enough to survive the Detonator Talismans, didn’t even have time to rejoice before a massive blade chopped down on their heads. With a sickening thud, heads rolled, and blood splattered as the blades swiftly fell.
"KILL..."
Battle cries resounded through the sky like a raging tsunami. The Ten Thousand Races charged out of the clouds against a gloomy backdrop. Their eyes, filled with silent killing intent and a total disregard for death, made them look like Divine Weapons transported from ancient times. It felt like an epic European medieval war between gods and demons. The grim, cold blades flashed with a chilling light, freezing both light and shadow.
Having first been bombarded by the massive Detonation Array, the Yin Demons were thrown into total chaos. Unable to maintain their formation, their ranks instantly collapsed.
In stark contrast, the Ten Thousand Races side possessed a majestic aura and overflowing battle intent. Every kill provided experience to level up... and slaying Yin Demons... brought wealth! Every cultivator was completely crazed on the inside. They wanted to snatch up every single kill they could get! This was the mindset of the Ten Thousand Races Cultivators, their morale surging so high it could pierce the sun.
"BAM BAM BAM!"
The Yin Demon Army clashed with the Ten Thousand Races Alliance! War broke out. No... a massacre began!
It was a totally one-sided slaughter. Caught completely off guard, the Yin Demons’ collapsed formation was once again torn apart by the Ten Thousand Races Alliance. The battle cries were deafening. Their defeat came crashing down like a landslide.
This Yin Demon Army had lost!
Encircled and suppressed by the Ten Thousand Races, they were quickly wiped out, leaving behind mountains of corpses and rivers of blood. It was a perfect ambush.
"We won!"
"We won!"
"We won just like that?"
Everyone who participated in this battle reaped massive benefits. Damaging Yin Demons with the Detonator Talismans yielded experience points, as did directly charging in and slaying them. Best of all, it was incredibly easy. The rewards were immense. The two hundred thousand Alliance cultivators had actually obliterated an army of a million Yin Demons with lightning speed.
This level of lethality was simply astonishing! It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call this the fastest annihilation of a million-strong legion in history.
The Yin Demon high command was stunned.
"What’s going on? Why did a legion of a million troops suddenly vanish?"
"Perhaps... they entered a special zone and lost contact temporarily."
Lost contact temporarily? But what about two or three hours later? They still couldn’t be reached. No matter how much they wanted to deny it, they knew something had gone horribly wrong.
"They’re... wiped out!"
"That’s impossible! Even if it were a million defenseless pigs, the Ten Thousand Races players wouldn’t be able to butcher them that easily!" one Yin Demon protested in disbelief.
"Sometimes, slaughtering a routed army is easier than butchering pigs!"
The expressions of the high-ranking Yin Demon commanders turned incredibly grim. It was true. Just what exactly had happened on the Ten Thousand Races Alliance’s side for a million-strong army to suddenly disappear?
"It seems we can no longer underestimate the Ten Thousand Races Alliance!"
"We must be careful..."
"And here I thought that with their disappearance for the better part of a month, we had already seized the initiative in the Marching Battlefield. But now it seems... it was a conspiracy all along!"
They had originally intended to use the military power they developed over the past half-month to seize total control of the Marching Battlefield in one fell swoop and exterminate the Ten Thousand Races Alliance. But now, it appeared that it wouldn’t be so easy. The Ten Thousand Races Cultivators were far more difficult to deal with than before.
In the Divine Mansion.
"Not bad, not bad at all. The results are quite good!" Su Tan beamed with joy upon learning that Fu Jian’s coalition had won with a smaller force, successfully wiping out a million Yin Demon powerhouses. "Since the game’s upgrade, the efficiency of killing enemies has improved significantly!"
Sacrificing half a month to reconfigure the game had absolutely paid off! Without the Detonator Talismans, and without the game’s new mechanics, there was no way Fu Jian would have come up with such a strategy. He wouldn’t have been able to shatter the Yin Demon Army’s formation, let alone obliterate a million Yin Demons so quickly with just two hundred thousand Alliance cultivators. This was a massive step forward!
"Of course! Just look at whose handiwork this is," the Fat Monk said smugly.
"Look at how full of yourself you are. If you’re so great, why couldn’t you control the model room?" the Little White Wolf retorted. It never got along with the Fat Monk and always looked for a chance to berate him, regardless of the situation.
"Uh..." The Fat Monk shrugged. "We all contributed, we all contributed..."
They turned their attention back to the Marching Battlefield.
After Fu Jian led the various alliance teams to crush the million Yin Demons, the alliances that partnered with him benefited immensely. Their rankings instantly skyrocketed, leaving all other players far behind in the dust. The outcome was absolutely jaw-dropping. Ever since the creation of the Marching Battlefield and the Divine War Game, Fu Jian had gone from being completely unremarkable to suddenly becoming the center of attention.
This time in particular, he had trapped and slaughtered a million Yin Demons! Such a record would undoubtedly leave a heavy mark in history. The glory, the achievements, the cultivation base... all of it was bestowed upon him by the Divine War Game.
Fu Jian felt a deep, heartfelt gratitude towards this game. When the other players heard about his achievement, many were utterly stunned—or filled with deep regret!
Because earlier, Fu Jian hadn’t just invited a mere two hundred thousand people to join this demon-slaying plan; he had invited almost every single player. For some of the top-ranking individuals, he had even reached out to them personally.
Unfortunately... not everyone gave Fu Jian face. This was especially true for the geniuses. Some prodigies who believed they were not inferior to Fu Jian wanted to prove their worth, so they flatly rejected his invitation. Some of the more hot-tempered ones even angrily retorted that they could do a much better job than him.
Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, he would wipe out a million Yin Demons?
Damn it!
They were dying of frustration!
Some people were still staking out, hesitating over whether or not to attack the Yin Demon Army, while others hadn’t even warmed up their weapons yet before news of the Yin Demon Army’s total annihilation spread. It was way too fast! Over in a flash of lightning?
"Is that the true capability of the number one alliance in the Divine War?" Many people were now completely convinced and thoroughly impressed by Fu Jian.
"Fuck, if I had known, I would’ve joined his crew... I originally thought he was nothing special, but now I know he’s a massive powerhouse!"
"I regret this so much!"
"Who exactly is this Fu Jian? It’s obvious he has a completely average Physique, and his cultivation is nothing special, so how is it that ever since encountering the Divine War Game, it’s like he’s using a cheat code?"
"It’s truly unbelievable!"
Trapping and slaughtering a million Yin Demons wasn’t something just anyone could do. But he had done it, and accomplished it with blistering speed. On this day, Fu Jian’s mighty reputation spread far and wide.
