I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 173: Still Improving
Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Still Improving
Damon smiled faintly before turning back toward the tide.
Their advance had not slowed.
With each battle, the group cleared another section of the beasts, and the pressure on the frontline continued to decrease. The monsters that had turned toward them were being eliminated, while those still pushing forward were forced to deal with the attacks coming from behind.
Damon’s group moved as one.
Shiro controlled the battlefield with his ice, Snow supported Caelia and restricted the beasts, Sylphie dominated the air, and Freya tore through the stronger enemies with her silver lightning.
Damon connected their abilities, filling any gaps in their attacks and adjusting their approach whenever the situation changed.
He didn’t need to command every movement.
His spirits understood what he wanted, and Caelia had become much better at reading the battlefield alongside them.
Their teamwork was improving with every encounter.
And as the frontline drew closer, Damon could already see the distant defensive structures and the faint flashes of elemental arts beyond the tide.
"They’re still holding on," Caelia said, following his gaze.
"For now."
Damon observed the battlefield for a moment.
The defenders were exhausted, and their formations had clearly suffered heavy damage. Even from this distance, he could tell they wouldn’t last much longer without help.
"We should pick up the pace."
Caelia nodded.
"Agreed."
Damon looked toward his spirits.
"Let’s clear a path."
Freya’s tails swayed excitedly as silver lightning gathered around her.
Sylphie spread her wings, and Shiro’s eyes glowed with cold blue light.
The group surged forward.
A fresh wave of wind art swept across the battlefield, followed by a storm of silver lightning and ice. The beasts caught in their path were overwhelmed, and the remaining monsters began to scatter as the group pressed closer to the frontline.
Damon didn’t slow down.
They had come all this way to help, and he intended to reach the defenders before their remaining strength ran out.
They continued pushing through the beast tide, and this time, he moved even faster.
His spirits kept pace with him, attacking the beasts from every direction and clearing a path toward the frontline. He had no need to use their weapon forms for now. Instead, he let them fight independently while he focused on using his own elemental arts to support their attacks.
With everyone fighting at once, their overall strength had increased considerably.
Freya, in her bestial form, was one of the deadliest fighters on the battlefield. Silver lightning surged around her nine tails as she darted between the beasts, striking them with frightening speed.
Every time she unleashed an attack, several monsters fell.
Her lightning had a wide range, and she was gradually improving her control over it. She could now strike multiple targets without wasting too much energy, while her movements made it difficult for the beasts to land a hit on her.
A group of Thunderfang Wolves charged toward her, their bodies covered in crackling lightning.
Freya grinned.
"You’re a little too slow!"
She leaped into the air, and silver lightning gathered around her tails. With a flick, several bolts shot toward the wolves, striking them before they could reach her.
The beasts stumbled, but Freya was already moving.
She landed among them and released another burst of lightning, sending the remaining wolves crashing to the ground.
Meanwhile, Sylphie was dealing with the beasts attacking from above.
Her six wings spread wide as she soared through the air, her emerald feathers catching the faint light of the distorted sky. She moved gracefully between the flying beasts, avoiding their attacks while gathering the surrounding wind.
A large group of Gale Hawks descended toward her, their sharp claws extended.
Sylphie tilted her wings, and the wind around her shifted.
Several razor-sharp blades formed beside her before shooting outward. The first few Hawks were struck mid-flight, while the rest struggled to maintain their balance as powerful currents swept them aside.
Sylphie quickly turned toward another group approaching from below.
She beat her wings once, sending a wide wave of wind crashing into them. The beasts were swept off their feet, leaving them exposed to the attacks coming from the ground.
Damon noticed the opening.
"Good work, Sylphie!"
He raised his hand, and several ice spears formed around him. Lightning gathered at their tips while wind wrapped around their bodies, accelerating them as they shot toward the fallen beasts.
The spears struck one after another, tearing through the group before they could recover.
Sylphie gave a proud cry and continued flying ahead.
Caelia, meanwhile, was doing her best to keep up with the others.
There were so many beasts, but she still struggled to find an opportunity to attack. Damon and his spirits were clearing large groups at an incredible pace, leaving her with fewer enemies to deal with.
Still, she refused to remain idle.
She had come here to fight, and she was enjoying every moment of it.
Caelia had faced difficult battles before, but fighting alongside Damon was different. He gave her room to act while constantly finding ways to help her improve. His instructions were simple, but they made her think more carefully about every movement and every attack.
Instead of relying on the sheer power of her Ice Arts, she had begun focusing on precision.
A Thunderhorn Beast charged toward her, its thick horns covered in lightning. Caelia quickly moved aside as it rushed past, then raised her hand.
"Frost Chains!"
She copied Shiro’s skill, although less effective but it worked as several chains of ice burst from the ground and wrapped around its hind legs.
The beast roared and struggled to break free, but Caelia didn’t give it the chance. She formed a series of narrow ice spears and aimed them at the joints beneath its armor.
The spears shot forward.
Three struck their targets, piercing through the beast’s weaker points. It stumbled, and Snow immediately rushed in, her claws coated in frost.
With a swift strike, Snow tore through the beast’s exposed side.
The monster collapsed.
Caelia smiled as she watched Snow return to her side.
"Well done, Snow!"
