I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 178 Reports from the Frontline
Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Reports from the Frontline
The family head looked toward the battlefield reports again.
The Wind Sovereign Roc and the nine-tailed lightning beast were already familiar from the Floating Ruin incident. Their abilities had attracted considerable attention, and their master’s identity had remained a subject of speculation.
Now that person had been identified.
It was Damon.
And beside those two spirits was a Frost Qilin whose support art had helped restore the strength of an entire frontline.
The family head’s expression darkened.
He couldn’t help thinking about the opportunities they had lost.
Damon had possessed a White Core from the beginning. Even if he had lacked a conventional elemental affinity, the family could have continued investigating his potential rather than dismissing him.
Instead, they had allowed him to fall into obscurity.
And now, he had returned with abilities that surpassed their expectations.
One of the Calloway elders finally broke the silence.
"Family Head, could it be that Damon has always possessed this potential?"
The family head looked at him.
"How would I know?"
His voice was calm, but the answer carried a weight that made the elder lower his head.
Another elder spoke cautiously.
"Regardless of how he obtained his abilities, his achievements are undeniable. His strength is already considerable, and he has several powerful Spirit Elementals under his command."
"Three elements," another murmured. "And one of them is silver lightning..."
The elders exchanged glances.
As a family that took pride in lightning, they could hardly ignore such an achievement. Yet the fact that Damon had developed it outside their guidance made the situation even more uncomfortable.
They had spent years nurturing Kane and celebrating his Purple Storm Lightning.
But Damon had returned with a rare lightning element of his own, along with wind and ice.
And he had done it without their help.
The family head said nothing.
He watched the reports being delivered, each one adding to the growing realization that they had badly misjudged their own son.
He couldn’t tell whether he felt pride, regret or frustration.
Perhaps it was all three.
The battlefield was changing rapidly.
With Winter’s Blessing supporting the defenders, the elemental users had regained enough strength to coordinate their attacks. Kane and the other geniuses continued fighting, while the ordinary elemental users reinforced the weakened sections of the formation.
Damon’s group moved between them, eliminating the stronger beasts and preventing the tide from regrouping.
Whenever a large monster threatened to break through, Freya would strike it with silver lightning, while Sylphie controlled the air above the battlefield. Shiro’s Frost Chains restricted the movements of those that managed to get close, and Snow worked alongside Caelia to finish them off.
Damon connected their abilities whenever he saw an opportunity.
His instructions were brief, and his spirits responded without hesitation.
"Shiro, hold them there!"
A field of ice spread beneath a group of charging beasts, and Frost Chains immediately wrapped around their legs.
"Sylphie, push them together!"
Sylphie beat her wings, sending a strong current of wind across the frozen ground. The beasts were forced into a tight formation, leaving them unable to move freely.
"Freya!"
Silver lightning burst across the battlefield.
The attack struck the trapped monsters, spreading from one body to another until the entire group collapsed.
Damon then raised his hand and formed several ice spears, sending them toward the few beasts that had managed to survive.
The group was quickly eliminated.
Caelia watched the coordinated attack as she and Snow finished off another monster.
Their teamwork had become so natural that the spirits barely needed to wait for Damon’s instructions. They understood his intentions and adjusted their actions accordingly.
Even Caelia was beginning to anticipate what he wanted to do.
She raised her hand, and a series of ice pillars emerged from the ground, creating a barrier that forced the approaching beasts toward Shiro’s Frost Chains.
"Shiro, now!"
The Frost Qilin immediately responded, binding the monsters in place.
Snow rushed forward, striking their exposed weak points while Caelia followed with a wave of ice spears.
The beasts fell one after another.
Damon glanced in her direction.
"You’re getting faster."
Caelia smiled.
"I’ve got a good teacher."
"Then make sure you don’t waste what you’ve learned."
"Don’t worry. I’m planning to surpass you one day."
Damon chuckled.
"I’ll be looking forward to it."
Caelia’s smile widened before she turned back toward the battle.
She was enjoying herself more than she had expected. The constant fighting, the need to adapt, and the opportunity to test her growing abilities had made the entire experience exciting.
And fighting alongside Damon had given her a chance to push herself beyond what she had previously thought possible.
She could see her own growth, and she knew Snow was improving just as quickly.
They still had a long way to go, but for now, she was satisfied with their progress.
The reports continued reaching the command area.
Every few moments, another scout arrived with news of the battle.
"Damon has destroyed a group of A-rank beasts near the eastern formation!"
"His Spirit Elementals have cleared another section of the tide!"
"The defenders have begun advancing, and the western formation has been restored!"
The elders listened in growing disbelief.
The reports were beginning to sound almost fictional.
One young man and his Spirit Elementals had not only broken through the beast tide but had also given the frontline enough support to turn the battle around.
The very tide they had struggled to contain was now being cleared.
Then, from beyond the command area, a wave of cheers rose from the frontline.
The sound grew louder as more elemental users joined in.
"We’ve done it!"
"The beasts are falling back!"
"Push forward! Don’t let them regroup!"
The elders looked toward the battlefield.
The beast tide that had once seemed endless was finally being pushed back. The remaining monsters were being eliminated, and the defenders had regained control of the frontline.
They had survived.
Some elemental users cheered while others collapsed onto the ground, too exhausted to celebrate properly. The injured were carried away, and the remaining fighters began securing the area.
Kane stood among them, breathing heavily as he looked toward Damon.
