Chapter 64: Chapter 64: A New Path Forward

Sylphie closed her eyes happily beneath his hand.

At the same time...

Another wave of feedback flowed through his body.

His white core expanded slightly.

His Aether veins grew sturdier.

Although he remained at Master Rank...

He could clearly feel himself taking another step forward.

Then came the familiar bestial feedback.

The wind around him became even clearer.

He could hear tiny shifts in the air from much farther away.

Every movement carried more information than before.

Even his own body felt lighter.

Faster.

More natural.

He slowly clenched his fist.

A smile appeared once again.

"...Looks like I’ll need another strong opponent soon."

Sylphie chirped excitedly.

Freya’s voice echoed through their connection, sounding just as eager.

Damon laughed and looked toward the mysterious passage ahead.

"Not today."

"We’ve got plenty of time."

"But..."

His eyes shone with anticipation.

"I have a feeling the next challenge is going to be even bigger."

*****

The next days had become strangely peaceful.

Damon no longer rushed his cultivation.

Instead, he focused on polishing himself.

Since Sylphie had just broken through, she no longer needed to cultivate immediately. She happily sat nearby with a pile of snacks, quietly munching away while watching Damon train.

"Crii..."

She tilted her head, completely absorbed in the show.

Damon laughed.

"You really enjoy watching, don’t you?"

She chirped proudly before taking another bite.

He shook his head with a smile.

"Then watch closely."

He started with simple exercises.

Push ups.

Squats.

Stretches.

Movements that looked ordinary, yet meant everything to him.

Back on Earth...

His body had never allowed him to do any of this.

Even something as simple as running left him exhausted.

Now every muscle answered him perfectly.

Every breath felt full of life.

It was a feeling he would never get tired of.

He gradually increased the intensity.

His movements became smoother.

Punches.

Footwork.

Turns.

Dodges.

He repeated every combat pattern he knew, letting his body remember them until each movement flowed naturally into the next.

Sylphie’s eyes sparkled.

Whenever Damon landed particularly well after a movement, she happily chirped as though applauding him.

"You’ve become my audience now?"

"Crii!"

"I’ll take that as a yes."

The training continued.

Soon Damon became completely immersed.

His breathing settled into a steady rhythm.

His body moved almost on instinct.

Then...

He suddenly stopped.

His expression changed.

A familiar emotion flowed through their connection.

Freya.

She wasn’t panicking.

She wasn’t frustrated anymore.

Instead...

She felt... certain.

Damon slowly smiled.

"So you’ve found it."

Inside the Second Core, Freya’s emotions were overflowing.

There was excitement.

Hope.

Nervousness.

Like someone standing before a door they had searched for a long time.

"You don’t have to rush."

His voice was gentle.

"I’m here."

"Take your time."

Almost immediately...

He felt her calm down.

The nervousness faded.

Only determination remained.

Damon nodded.

"I’ll be waiting."

Satisfied, he returned to training.

Time quietly passed.

Neither Damon nor Sylphie noticed how long it had been.

Inside the Second Core...

Freya had completely immersed herself in her own evolution.

She had finally understood why she had reached a dead end.

The Nine Tails were not her limit.

She simply needed a new purpose.

She remembered every battle.

Every injury Damon had suffered.

The broken knife against the Stormreign Wyvern.

The moment he was forced to finish the battle barehanded.

She remembered all of it.

She wanted to protect him.

But protecting him didn’t always mean standing in front of him.

Sometimes...

It meant becoming the strength in his own hands.

That single thought opened a brand new path.

The Second Core trembled.

A brilliant light spread through it.

Damon immediately felt it.

His eyes snapped open.

"It started..."

The pressure surrounding Damon slowly increased.

Even Sylphie stopped eating.

She quickly flew beside Damon, as he stared at the glowing Second Core with wide eyes.

The light grew brighter.

Then...

A bolt of lightning shot into the air.

It didn’t spread wildly.

Instead, it gathered.

Compressed.

Refined.

The lightning slowly took shape.

Not into a beast.

Not into a fox.

But into a weapon.

And the glow finally faded.

Floating quietly before Damon was a spear unlike anything he had ever seen.

Its long silver shaft was wrapped in flowing patterns that looked like living lightning.

Every line shimmered softly as though countless tiny currents flowed beneath the surface.

The spearhead was elegant and impossibly sharp.

It resembled the fang of a heavenly beast, while arcs of silver lightning danced around its edge before disappearing into the air.

Behind the blade rested nine faint lightning tails that swayed like flowing ribbons.

They weren’t decorations.

They felt alive.

The entire spear floated silently.

Proud.

Ancient.

Sacred.

It didn’t release overwhelming pressure.

It didn’t need to.

Simply looking at it made Damon feel as though he was standing before a legendary weapon that had existed long before he was born.

Neither Damon nor Sylphie spoke.

For several seconds...

The chamber remained completely silent.

"...Freya."

His voice was barely a whisper.

"You..."

"You really became a weapon."

The spear gently floated toward him.

Warm emotions filled their connection.

Encouragement.

Trust.

She wanted him to hold her.

Slowly...

Damon reached out.

The moment his hand wrapped around the shaft...

Lightning surged through his arm.

Instead of hurting him... It welcomed him.

The current flowed from Damon into the spear before returning again, completing a perfect cycle.

It felt natural.

Like the spear had always belonged in his hand.

He gave it a small swing.

The weight was perfect.

Not too heavy.

Not too light.

It moved exactly how he imagined.

A smile slowly spread across his face.

"This..."

"...This was made for me."

His heart couldn’t stop racing.

Back on Earth, he had spent countless hours grinding games just to unlock legendary weapons.

Now...

One had chosen him.

No.

It had been born for him.

He couldn’t help laughing.

"I never imagined it would happen like this."

His grip tightened around the spear.

"So this is your answer."

"You became my weapon."
