Chapter 78: Fighting two powerful entities

  • Next Chapter

Dante took a step forward, his foot shattering the stone beneath him as his invisible blade hummed silently, facing the two upper-floor entities head-on under the clear sky.

Marcus and Elena—their bodies fully anchored by the two cosmic entities—did not advance. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder, their void-like eyes reflecting the pulsing purple remnants of the shattered core behind Dante.

The female entity inside Elena’s bleeding form raised her hands first. She didn’t draw a dagger or chant a phrase. She simply spread her fingers wide, her long nails dripping with a black ooze that defied gravity, floating upward in thin strands.

"Law of Decay: Absolute Restriction," she spoke through Elena’s mangled jaw, her voice carrying a distorted double tone.

Instantly, the space within a five-meter radius of Dante began to rot. There was no physical projectile, no elemental blast of frost or flame, and no kinetic momentum. The very concept of structural integrity within that zone was erased. The stone beneath Dante turned into liquid sludge, and a microscopic weight latched onto him, actively eating away at his cell density.

Dante’s system flashed a bright red warning tone inside his mind:

[Conceptual Status Inflicted: Level 5 Vitality Decay]

[Notice: Active Mitigation Passive ’Vajra Mirror Body’ possesses zero kinetic feedback to calculate. Reflection status: Ineffective.]

Dante didn’t blink. He didn’t check the status bar or try to jump backward to escape the rotting zone. Even as the skin on his bare forearms began to peel slightly from the acidic conceptual weight, his eyes didn’t show a single flicker of hesitation.

’No physical impact means my skin passive is offline,’ Dante analyzed his fingers locking tighter around the Seven-Sins Asura Blade. ’But their vessels are still tied to mortal flesh. High-floor laws or not, if I split their core nodes with pure velocity, the possession loop breaks.’

He willed his baseline muscles to contract, forcing the raw energy directly into his foot

Void Step—

He vanished from the liquid sludge. He didn’t execute a simple retreat or a side-step; he went straight forward into the center of the crimson fog, appearing directly between the two possessed traitors. The sheer displacement of air from his raw physical speed created a sharp, booming vacuum that violently scattered the black decay strands.

His right hand moved in a vertical arc, swinging the sword straight toward Marcus’s neck.

The male entity controlling Marcus reacted with chilling efficiency. He didn’t try to parry the unseen edge. Instead, he twisted his torso sideways at an impossible angle, letting the red plates of his armor slide right past the line of the cut. Simultaneously, he drove his magic sword upward in a swift, diagonal thrust, the thick beam of destructive red light on the blade aiming directly for Dante’s liver.

Dante didn’t slow down his momentum. He utilized a secondary Void Step mid-air, his body blurring horizontally by a fraction of an inch to let the red light beam graze his ribs, burning a clean line through his clothes. Before Marcus could recover his stance, Dante drove his left fist straight into the center of the giant’s chest plate with his full baseline density.

BOOM!

The sheer physical force of his multiplied attributes was so massive that the armor plates across Marcus’s torso instantly fractured, a web of deep cracks running all the way to the shoulder joints. The five-meter vessel was violently blasted backward , his boots leaving two deep trenches in the stone tracks as he struggled to stabilize his center of gravity.

"Incredible," the male entity rasped through Marcus’s throat, his eyes widening slightly as he looked down at his ruined chest plate. "A mortal frame carrying zero system buffers should have collapsed under my restriction law within three seconds. Your muscle density is bypassing the logic of this floor."

"Brother, watch your left!" Elena’s form hissed from the side.

She moved with an unnatural, jerky stride, her damaged legs clicking loudly against the stone as she lunged toward Dante’s exposed flank.

She didn’t use daggers; she pointed her palms forward, releasing a massive wave of pressurized black rot that aimed to wrap around Dante’s throat like a noose.

behind them, Esabella stood perfectly still in front of the stone pillar. Her horns were vibrating aggressively, creating a protective barrier that completely deflected the stray crimson sparks and gravity ripples before they could touch Yenna.

Yenna sat with her knees pulled tightly to her chest, her black cat ears pinning completely against her head as she watched Dante trade high-speed blows against two cosmic forces in the center of the room. The sheer density of the shockwaves was making her chest feel tight, her tail wrapping tighter around her ankles.

"Lady Esabella..." Yenna whispered, her voice trembling with a deep, emotional fear. "Dante’s stamina... it’s draining too fast. Every time he uses that speed inside their rot field, his baseline energy signature drops. He’s fighting through pure grit..."

Esabella didn’t look back at her, but her lips pulled into a serious, tight line, her long nails digging deep into the handle of her thorn-vein whip tightly. Her golden pupils tracked every single burn on Dante’s skin that bordered on madness. She wanted to lunge forward to paint the walls in their blood, but she remembered his absolute order.

’Protect her at all costs,’ Dante’s voice come in her mind.

’I–I have to– no, no I will not move,’ Esabella thought, her tail thrashing against the floor block once, leaving a deep scratch. ’I will hold this line until my core shatters. But if those black-eyed trash mobs force his knees to bend... I will tear the seals of the upper floors apart myself.’

In the center of the crater, Dante dodged Elena’s black rot wave by executing a low pivot, his invisible blade humming silently as he rose back into a clean combat stance. He didn’t care about his draining stamina or the dark blisters forming on his arms. He simply looked at the two entities with that same expressionless stare, his hair falling forward as the final, brutal attrition round under the clear sky intensified.
