Chapter 147 - 146: If I Bring This Hammer Down, You Might Die
Chapter 147: Chapter 146: If I Bring This Hammer Down, You Might Die
He Xiaotian stared, stunned, at the warhammer bobbing up and down in mid-air.
’When did this thing learn to absorb Qi and Blood?’ he wondered.
And in a single instant, it had devoured the frenzied dragon of Qi and Blood completely.
’Why has it never shown this before?’
"Damn it, give it back to me!"
The unidentified figure burst into action, forming a claw with one hand and swiping viciously at the transforming warhammer in the air.
How could He Xiaotian let him have his way?
’After all, it’s my weapon, and he’s the enemy.’
"Thunderous Divine Palm—Blazing Sunburst!"
A Fireball the size of a human head materialized in his right palm, and the surrounding temperature grew even more scorching.
He Xiaotian then pushed forward, and the crimson sphere shot out.
It left a charred black trail in its wake.
The skeletal freaks, who had been standing aside trembling and not daring to make a sound, finally met with disaster.
The moment they touched the fiery light, they instantly melted into puddles, deader than dead.
"Bastard!"
The figure had no choice but to abandon the evolving warhammer in the air and turn to face He Xiaotian’s Nine-Yang Minor Thunderbolt.
He could clearly feel the energy it contained.
’So be it,’ he thought, steeling himself. ’Even if it worsens my injuries, I’ll teach this guy a lesson today!’
"Sky Devour!"
The figure opened his mouth, and an infinite devouring force erupted from within.
In a single gulp, he swallowed the crimson Fireball.
He was about to spit it right back out at He Xiaotian, to give him a taste of his own medicine.
He had used this move to trick countless people in the past.
Unfortunately for him, the unthinkable happened.
The palm force of the Nine-Yang Minor Thunderbolt focused on cohesion and explosive power.
From the outside, the Fireball’s structure looked very stable.
But in reality, it was designed to detonate on impact!
The figure, who knew nothing of He Xiaotian’s techniques, had just been completely outplayed.
BOOM!!
He had just leaped into the air, but after the Nine-Yang Minor Thunderbolt exploded in his mouth, his entire body was blasted away!
THWUMP!!
His head slammed into the ceiling, crashing right through it.
From the ground, it looked as if he had tried to hang himself.
He Xiaotian himself was surprised. Who in this day and age would be ballsy enough to catch his Thunderous Divine Palm with their mouth?
"..."
"AHHHH—"
The figure descended into a complete frenzy. ’Why am I so damn unlucky?’
’I was just minding my own business, floating on the water and healing my wounds, not causing any trouble for anyone.’
’So how did this walking disaster suddenly show up out of nowhere?’
"I’ll fight you to the death!"
The figure braced his hands against the ceiling and yanked his head free.
CRACK... CRACK... CRACK...
An unnerving, grating sound of bones grinding rang out as he transformed from a man of average height into a two-meter-tall giant.
His clothes tore apart, revealing bulging muscles underneath.
Intricate patterns were carved into his skin, all converging to form the image of a giant mouth, its tongue lolling out and dripping with saliva.
"I have ten minutes. I’m going to pound you into a pulp, one punch at a time."
This power-up could only be maintained for ten minutes. It was his final trump card, a last resort given his severe injuries.
Once the time was up, he would become a sitting duck, helpless before his foe.
But it was worth it. At least he had recovered one-tenth of his peak strength.
’He was confident he could crush this bug, He Xiaotian!’
"Pfft... Sorry, it’s just... pfft..."
He Xiaotian tried his best to stifle his laughter, but he just couldn’t hold it in.
Sure, the explosion from the Thunderous Divine Palm’s Fireball hadn’t shattered his opponent’s head.
But what the hell was with those sausage lips?
Could you picture it? A burly, broad-shouldered brute, wearing a ferocious expression... topped off with a pair of ridiculous sausage lips?
No matter how vicious the enemy tried to look, he just seemed adorably dumb.
"I..."
The figure felt like his lungs were about to explode from rage.
"AHHHH—"
After a furious, maddened roar, he charged straight for He Xiaotian.
His two giant palms spread wide, intent on crushing He Xiaotian’s skull.
But just as he got close, a sharp, twisting pain shot through his gut, so agonizing he nearly vomited up his own organs.
And so, he went flying back the same way he came.
BOOM!
The figure lay on the floor, his eyes gazing blankly at the hole he had just smashed through the ceiling.
’What in the world just happened?’
’How... did I end up back here?’
Meanwhile, He Xiaotian retracted his right foot.
He cracked his neck, the joints popping audibly.
"So, we’re comparing size, are we? I, Zheng Peng, have never been afraid of anyone!"
The guy was already starting to brag. Had he forgotten about the Abyssal Voyager on Huayang Road?
Still, at a time like this, why was he still trying to frame the real Zheng Peng?
"Unleashed Golden Body!"
His body swelled once more as a golden substance seeped from his pores, instantly coating his entire form. He now looked like a magnificent Arhat, glowing with a divine, Buddhist light.
"Protective Copper Tunic!"
In an instant, a layer of clothing that emitted a faint coppery glow draped itself over him. His body swelled again, growing even larger.
"Protective Gang Qi!"
A gray Qi Force surged forth, enveloping his entire body.
His ferocious eyes glinted with a terrifying light, like a tiger descending a mountain, ready to pounce and devour its prey.
At this moment, He Xiaotian’s height surpassed three meters.
A single one of his arms was twice as thick as the figure’s thigh.
GULP!
The figure, who had just gone all-in, was utterly dumbfounded.
’Is there even any point in fighting this?’
’Just get on my knees, put my hands up, and surrender. That’s all there is to it!’
’I might even be spared a savage beating.’
"Hey, kid. How’d you like my muscles? Your little brain buzzing yet?" He Xiaotian asked smugly, shaking a fist that was several times larger than a clay pot.
’Son of a... You win.’
’What kind of rotten luck is this?’
’A tiger stranded on a flat plain gets bullied by dogs; a dragon trapped in shallow water gets harassed by shrimp.’
’Am I really going to submit to some small-time fry I wouldn’t have even deigned to look at when I was at my peak?’
’After weighing the pros and cons, the logical choice was to feign compliance and bide my time for a future comeback.’
’But for some reason, looking at his opponent’s smug expression and hearing the delighted oinking sound from the air just left a sour taste in his mouth.’
’Getting my ass kicked for no reason, and now I have to bow down.’
’I... I’ll endure it.’
’A great man knows when to bend and when to be unyielding.’
’Just you wait and see.’
But before he could signal his surrender, He Xiaotian had already appeared at his side.
Without a single wasted word, he kicked the man flat on his back again.
A massive foot came down, pinning him by the chest.
The figure’s face was a mixture of grievance, anger, and resignation—a jumble of conflicting emotions.
He Xiaotian raised a hand, and the warhammer—which had devoured the frenzied dragon of Qi and Blood—flew straight into his grasp.
He gazed at the massive warhammer, now reconnected to its chain and covered in sinister crimson patterns, and nodded with great satisfaction.
He hefted it a few times, getting a feel for its weight.
It was at least twice as heavy as before.
’A shame,’ he thought. ’Still a little light.’
But this was probably the most suitable weapon he was going to find.
CLANG! CLANG!
The two hammers collided, letting out a deafening roar accompanied by a shower of sparks.
"Not bad. Very good indeed!"
Then he looked down at the figure pinned beneath his foot and said with a vicious grin, "Hey, kid. If I bring this hammer down... you just might die, you know!"
