Chapter 25: Chapter 24: Is That It?
BAM!
With just a single punch, Liu Zimo sent the eleventh Martial Master that Sun Yang had brought in to teach him a lesson flying over five meters away. Although the man hadn’t suffered any severe injuries, he wouldn’t be standing up again anytime soon.
"That’s it?" Liu Zimo curled his lips in disdain.
"Vice Hall Master Sun, if this is the level of all the Martial Masters in the Yu Xun Martial Arts Hall, I don’t see any reason to continue!
"What’s the use of hiring a bunch of bodyguards who can’t even beat me? If we encounter real danger, am I supposed to protect them, or are they supposed to protect me?
"Where are Zhao Jiajun, Sun Xincheng, Wan Hongying, and Li Yan?
"Are they not at the martial arts hall, or have they turned into cowards hiding in their shells, too afraid to come out and face me?"
Sun Yang flushed red, choking on his words. He never expected this seemingly scrawny and young kid to be so powerful. He had called in six Bronze Medal Martial Masters and five Silver Medal Martial Masters to the training hall one after another, yet not a single one of them could take a single blow from the boy!
It was incredibly embarrassing. Originally, he had wanted to teach the kid a proper lesson to show him his place and curb his arrogance. Instead, he was the one getting slapped in the face!
"Mr. Liu, you truly have excellent skills!" Sun Yang said through gritted teeth. "Now, you are indeed qualified to meet Master Zhao, Master Sun, and the others!
"Wait here, I’ll go report to the masters right now—"
"There’s no need. We’re already here!"
Before Sun Yang could finish his sentence, someone outside the training hall doors cut him off. Then, Liu Zimo saw three pillars of soaring crimson flames appear simultaneously at the doorway, their red light so brilliant it stung the eyes.
"They’ve arrived!"
Upon seeing the dazzling radiance emitted by these three Red Shadow Locks, Liu Zimo knew the people he was waiting for had finally shown up.
Zhao Jiajun, Sun Xincheng, and Wan Hongying.
The three True Disciples of the Yu Xun Martial Saint Sect, who were also destined to become three world-renowned Grandmasters of the Federation thirty years in the future! These three were the absolute strongest combatants among all the Martial Masters in the Yu Xun Martial Arts Hall, and they were also three of Liu Zimo’s primary targets for coming to Shangjing.
He hadn’t expected them to all be at the martial arts hall today. What a stroke of luck. Being able to bind three future Martial Arts Grandmasters in one go saved him the immense trouble of tracking down their whereabouts one by one!
[Binding successful! Your Good Brother Zhao Jiajun is now online. Current bindable targets: (5/20)]
[Binding successful! Your Good Brother Sun Xincheng is now online. Current bindable targets: (6/20)]
[Binding successful! Your bestie Wan Hongying is now online. Current bindable targets: (7/20)]
As the three approached, Liu Zimo immediately used his Thought to lock onto the Red Shadow Locks floating above their heads, turning them into his "Good Brothers" and "bestie."
"We just got back and heard an expert had arrived at the hall. I assume that would be you, little brother?"
Stepping forward, Zhao Jiajun glanced at his own Martial Masters groaning side-by-side on the floor. Seeing they had only suffered superficial wounds and no real damage to their bones or internal organs, he felt somewhat relieved and cupped his hands in a traditional Martial Artist salute toward Liu Zimo.
"May I ask how to address you, little brother?
"Such a young Iron Bone realm Martial Artist must surely be the top disciple of a senior in the Martial Dao!"
Zhao Jiajun didn’t underestimate Liu Zimo in the slightest because of his slight build; instead, following Martial Dao etiquette, he tested the waters to inquire about his opponent’s sect and origins. As a fellow Iron Bone realm expert, he could tell at a glance that there was something extraordinary about Liu Zimo’s muscles and skeletal structure, and he could feel the clash of Martial Intent that naturally occurred between Martial Artists of the same realm.
Not only had this young man’s Martial Dao realm advanced to the Iron Bone tier, but his Martial Dao Will was also terrifyingly resilient and strong. He was definitely no ordinary person! However, an Iron Bone realm expert this young was completely unheard of. He wondered which Martial Dao expert had trained such a genius successor!
"Master has always said that the birth of Spiritual Energy will inevitably give rise to a large number of Martial Dao geniuses, and that this is the best era for Martial Artists!" Zhao Jiajun thought.
"I didn’t feel it too deeply before, but now, with even an Iron Bone realm Martial Artist this young appearing in the world, I have no choice but to believe it!"
...
"Bastard. This pretty boy actually dares to come to our Yu Xun Martial Arts Hall to throw his weight around. Just watch how I teach him a lesson in a minute!" Wan Hongying thought.
...
"Tsk tsk, this kid’s got some skills. He’s not panicking at all after seeing the three of us approach. Is he relying on something?" Sun Xincheng thought.
"It’s rare to meet a Martial Artist at the same realm. I really want to exchange a few good moves with him.
"But looking at how furious Senior Sister Wan is, I’m afraid I won’t get a turn..."
The inner thoughts of the three people echoed in Liu Zimo’s ears almost simultaneously, allowing him to instantly grasp their mental states. To his surprise, two out of the three actually wanted to fight him. Especially Wan Hongying; despite being a woman, she had the most fiery temper and wanted to bypass Zhao Jiajun to teach him a lesson directly.
This suited his intentions perfectly. If he didn’t beat these three into submission, how could he smoothly arrange a meeting with the legendary Yu Xun Martial Saint?
"Cut the crap. If you want to probe my background, beat me first!
"Are the three of you coming at me together, or one by one?"
The aura radiating from Liu Zimo’s body surged to its absolute peak, pressing down directly upon Zhao Jiajun, Wan Hongying, and Sun Xincheng.
"How bold! I’ll take you on!"
As expected, Wan Hongying was the first to lose her patience. Bypassing Zhao Jiajun, she lunged straight at Liu Zimo.
BOOM!
Fists and kicks clashed, sending Power spilling out in all directions. The oak floorboards specially laid down for training were blasted into craters one after another by the Powerful Qi radiating from the two of them!
Nearby, Zhao Jiajun and Sun Xincheng’s expressions changed simultaneously. Without prior agreement, they both released their auras to shield Sun Yang and their eleven injured martial brothers behind them.
"First Senior Brother, can you tell what this kid’s background is?
"Senior Sister Wan is a notorious battle maniac. Once she goes crazy, even the few of us brothers have a hard time subduing her.
"But look at this kid. Not only has he blocked Senior Sister Wan’s proud Ultimate Killing Techniques, but he’s even started to counterattack. Where on earth did this powerhouse pop out from?" Sun Xincheng kept his eyes fixed on Liu Zimo as he quietly asked Zhao Jiajun beside him.
Wan Hongying’s combat style had always been famous for its sheer madness. For her, there were no such things as probes or warm-ups; she usually unleashed her thunderous attacks to annihilate her opponents right from the start. If the opponent couldn’t survive Wan Hongying’s initial three Killing Techniques, the outcome of the battle would naturally lose all suspense.
But now, this young man who had suddenly appeared in the martial arts hall had not only easily parried Wan Hongying’s Killing Techniques, but his counterattacks were even more explosive and insane.
"I don’t know either—Oh no, hurry, save her!"
Before Zhao Jiajun could finish speaking, his expression suddenly shifted. Pushing off the ground with both feet, he shot into the battlefield like a bolt of lightning, throwing himself between Liu Zimo and Wan Hongying.
BOOM!
Liu Zimo’s fist connected solidly, landing squarely on Zhao Jiajun’s chest. The impact sent Zhao Jiajun and Wan Hongying behind him flying over ten meters away, crashing heavily onto the floorboards in the back.
PFFT!
The two of them spat blood simultaneously, clearly having suffered significant internal injuries.
"First Senior Brother, Senior Sister Wan, how are you?!"
Only then did Sun Xincheng react. He quickly flew over to help Zhao Jiajun and Wan Hongying sit up, his voice tinged with panic as he asked after them.
He hadn’t expected Senior Sister Wan to show signs of defeat so quickly. Let alone that even after his First Senior Brother had personally intervened, he still ended up being sent flying by the opponent.
He was too strong! Was this really still the Iron Bone realm?! Even if their Master were to strike personally, the result probably wouldn’t be much different from this, right?
"That’s it?" Liu Zimo retracted his fist and stilled his body. Looking down from above at Zhao Jiajun and Wan Hongying slumped on the floor, he curled his lips in contempt.
"Is this the strength of the Yu Xun Martial Arts Hall’s True Disciples? What an utter disappointment!
"You possess formidable martial prowess in vain, yet lack even a shred of life-or-death combat experience. You’re too weak!
"With disciples like this, I imagine your master is nothing special either. This trip to Shangjing has been a complete waste of my time!"
Liu Zimo intentionally spoke to provoke the three of them. Seeing that Sun Xincheng, along with Sun Yang and the others who had long since retreated outside the training hall doors, had already started secretly making phone calls for backup, a satisfied smile crept onto Liu Zimo’s lips.
Beat the young, and the old will inevitably come out. Next, all he had to do was sit here and wait for Hong Yuxun to come knocking on his door!
