Chapter 30: Chapter 28: Fabricating a "Master" Out of Thin Air, Precognition Superpower!

Luozhou.

Liu Yi stared at his phone, which had abruptly disconnected and gone black, then looked down at the streets below where cars were continuously colliding. Immediately after, he saw three planes in the sky plunge straight down simultaneously, dropping like dumplings into a pot.

BOOM!

Explosions roared as thick smoke billowed into the air. Even from several kilometers away, the violent shockwaves rippling through the air were clearly palpable.

This completely dumbfounded Liu Yi, who was standing on the building’s rooftop Celestial Terrace preparing to photograph the astronomical phenomenon.

"Holy crap! Don’t tell me that brat actually got it right?! The Post-Apocalypse or whatever is really freaking coming?! No, I need to hurry home and lay low!"

Recalling his eldest son’s solemn warning on the phone just moments ago, Liu Yi shuddered. He no longer dared to stay on the Celestial Terrace to watch the spectacle. He jogged all the way downstairs and returned to Zhao Hongzhang’s home.

Fortunately, Liu Zihao hadn’t officially registered at his school yet, and since it was noon, both he and Zhao Hongzhang were taking a nap at home. Otherwise, Liu Yi really wouldn’t have known where to find them.

"Dad, what happened outside? Why does it sound like firecrackers going off?" asked Liu Zihao. Having just been jolted awake by the explosions, he was about to head out to investigate when he saw Liu Yi rush back inside, panting heavily.

"Yeah, Liu Yi, what’s with all the chaos out there?" Zhao Hongzhang also emerged from his room, looking at Liu Yi in surprise. "Aren’t you usually the first to join the crowd? Why did you run back home this time?"

"It’s a disaster! The Post-Apocalypse is here! If I don’t run home, am I supposed to go out and get myself killed?" Liu Yi couldn’t be bothered to waste words. He shoved Liu Zihao, who was just about to step outside, back into the room.

SLAM!

He slammed the door shut behind him and locked it from the inside.

"Hurry! While the water is still running, fill every container in the house!" With that, Liu Yi took the lead, rushing into the kitchen to pull out pots, bowls, pans, buckets, and any other vessel that could hold water, rapidly filling them up.

Liu Zihao and Zhao Hongzhang looked completely bewildered. They wondered why he was suddenly hoarding so much water. Even if the community had announced a water outage, there was no need to fill this much all at once.

"What are you two standing around for? Hurry up and help!" Liu Yi urged anxiously. "It’s the Post-Apocalypse, don’t you understand?! All the electrical equipment has failed, which means the water company has definitely shut down too. The water supply in the roof tank is limited. If we don’t hurry, we won’t be able to get any later!"

Seeing his father so frantic, Liu Zihao didn’t dare delay. He dashed into the bathroom, bringing out all the buckets and basins, not even sparing the washing machine as he turned on the taps to fill them one by one.

Zhao Hongzhang also realized something was wrong. The sky outside was growing increasingly dark, and the sounds of explosions and screams continued to drift up from the streets below. Yet, from beginning to end, he hadn’t heard a single siren from a police car or an ambulance.

Something terrible had happened. Even if it wasn’t the Post-Apocalypse, it was undoubtedly a massive catastrophe!

Hesitating no longer, Zhao Hongzhang sprinted into the other bathroom and joined the water-hoarding effort.

Meanwhile, in Shangjing City.

Hong Yuxun was soaring rapidly through the air, carrying Liu Zimo in his grasp. Along the way, they saw the entire urban area of Shangjing City filled with grief and devastation. Thick smoke blanketed the city, and everywhere they looked, crowds of people were screaming in pain from traffic collisions and electrical accidents.

This only further validated Liu Zimo’s earlier claims about the Post-Apocalypse.

The disaster had already arrived. If they didn’t implement the correct countermeasures in advance, many more would inevitably be injured or killed later on! Suppressing the urge to fly down and personally rescue people, Hong Yuxun got his bearings and charged toward the Military Staff Department in the North Suburb at maximum speed.

Covering a distance of over ten kilometers, they arrived smoothly in less than three minutes.

CRASH!

Bypassing the main entrance, Hong Yuxun smashed directly through the window into the office of General Staff Wu Songyang.

Inside, Wu Songyang was pacing frantically in a state of sheer panic. When he saw who had arrived, his eyes lit up.

"Elder Hong?!" Wu Songyang rushed up to him, his voice laced with urgency. "You’re here right on time! I was just wondering how I could get in touch with you!

"Our communications with the outside world have suddenly been cut off, and the defense systems across all of Shangjing City have completely failed. More importantly, none of our motorized equipment will start!

"This is a massive crisis! We are virtually blind and deaf right now. If we were to be attacked, the consequences would be unimaginable!

"Elder Hong, you are a Golden Body realm Martial Artist and the only Martial Artist in Shangjing City who has mastered a Martial Arts Domain and possesses the ability of short-distance flight. I need you to visit the major defense zones on my behalf to stabilize military morale!"

Hong Yuxun was momentarily stunned. He hadn’t expected Advisor Wu to acutely sense the impending danger before he even had a chance to speak.

"Advisor Wu, that is actually exactly why I’m here..."

In just a few sentences, Hong Yuxun quickly recounted how he had captured an extraterrestrial Demon Fiend at the martial arts hall, which subsequently triggered the anomalous celestial phenomena. He then pointed to Liu Zimo and said, "It was this young brother who told me that the white vortex in the sky is a Transmission Passage connecting to the Outer Realm. Very soon, countless Outer Realm Demon Fiends will descend upon Earth through it!

"Furthermore, the series of disasters currently unfolding in Shangjing City have all been caused by these Outer Realm Demon Fiends.

"Advisor Wu, we don’t have much Time left. Once the Transmission Passage above our heads fully materializes, the true disaster will erupt. We must make preparations in advance!"

Outer Realm Demon Fiends? The Post-Apocalypse?

Hearing this, Wu Songyang frowned deeply. He couldn’t help but turn his gaze toward Liu Zimo, asking with a hint of doubt and inquiry in his eyes, "Young brother, may I ask who your master is? How did he learn of this information?"

Liu Zimo had anticipated this question. Well-prepared, he answered without a moment’s hesitation, "It is inconvenient for me to reveal my master’s name. I can only say that my master was a Prophet who awakened a special ability. Everything I have done was instructed by him before he passed away.

"This includes publishing warning articles online, teaching the public the Guiding Breathing Method and the Five Animals Fist, as well as visiting Elder Hong, Divine Monk Zhiyuan of Dalin Temple, and Master Zhang of Dragon Tiger Mountain. All of it was to fulfill my master’s dying wishes.

"However, I didn’t expect an anomaly to occur in my master’s premonition. The chaos of the Demon Fiends, which was supposed to break out on November 11th, has unexpectedly arrived so many days early!"

He was fabricating a "master" out of thin air, shifting all the blame onto this supposed figure. After all, chaos had already broken out and the Post-Apocalypse was upon them. Even if these people harbored suspicions, they wouldn’t be able to investigate it anymore.

"A Prophet? A Superpower User who awakened a special ability?" Wu Songyang took a deep breath, looking up to exchange a glance with Hong Yuxun beside him. A trace of gravity and understanding appeared on both of their faces.

Over the past two years, quite a few people within the Great Xia had indeed suddenly awakened special abilities that Ordinary people lacked. These included Invisibility, Limb Regeneration, Infinite Strength, Eavesdropping on Others’ Thoughts, Body Metalization, and the manipulation of natural elements like wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. The variety was vast and bizarre. The Military Staff Department already had records of this, so neither Wu Songyang nor Hong Yuxun found it unfamiliar.

However, this was the first time they had heard of such an absurd ability to foresee the future. Still, given the mysterious and unpredictable nature of Superpowers, they couldn’t entirely rule out the possibility that someone had truly awakened such a gift.

"Alright, let us tentatively assume everything you say is true," Wu Songyang said, addressing Liu Zimo once more. "Did your master ever tell you how to deal with these Demon Fiends, and when this catastrophe will end?"

Liu Zimo decisively shook his head. "I don’t know.

"It was precisely to seek the answer to that question—to find a glimmer of survival for humanity in the Post-Apocalypse—that my master continuously exerted his Prophetic Superpower. Ultimately, he suffered a backlash from his Superpower, his life force severed, and he passed away with regret."

Wu Songyang and Hong Yuxun exchanged another glance, their hearts filled with awe. They couldn’t help but feel a sliver of respect for this unseen "master" Liu Zimo spoke of.

If Demon Fiends truly descended to plunge the world into chaos, it would prove that the master’s premonition had been completely accurate. In that case, Liu Zimo following his master’s dying wishes by pre-publishing the Self-Help Guide and the Breathing Technique online could be considered a deed of boundless merit. There was no telling how many Ordinary people in the Post-Apocalypse would be saved by it!

"Very well, I basically understand the situation now. Thank you, young brother!" Wu Songyang expressed his gratitude to Liu Zimo. After pondering for a moment, he leaned over the desk, swiftly wrote out several handwritten orders, and stamped them with his official seal. Only then did he look up at Hong Yuxun with a solemn expression.

"Elder Hong, with communications severed and traffic blocked, if Demon Fiends truly invade, the nearby defense zones and police departments will definitely be unable to coordinate in time. They won’t be able to establish an effective offensive and defensive system at the first opportunity.

"Therefore, I must trouble you to take my orders and visit these locations in the shortest Time possible to unify command and coordinate our combat efforts!

"During this Time, if anyone dares to harbor treacherous thoughts or disobey orders, you may take action and capture them directly!"

Taking the handwritten orders, Hong Yuxun replied solemnly, "Rest assured, Advisor Wu. I will ensure these orders are delivered safely right away!"

With that, Hong Yuxun cast a deep backward glance at Liu Zimo before soaring into the air once again.
