I Can Stock Up in the Game
Chapter 37: This Magical and Bizarre Attribute
Chapter 37: Chapter 37: This Magical and Bizarre Attribute
Zhang Lin spent 45 yuan to procure one jin of dried Honeysuckle.
Just then, the dismissal bell at No. 1 High School rang.
As the bell rang, he saw Fu Yao hurrying out of the school gate alone.
"Did you cut class?" Zhang Lin asked, a little surprised.
He had also been a student at No. 1 High School, so he knew that given the distance from the academic building, a student would have to leave class at least five minutes early to make it out the gate right as the bell rang.
Fu Yao quickly waved her hands and explained, "It was art class. I turned in my painting early and told the teacher I had to use the restroom!"
"Hop on!" Zhang Lin urged. He was anxious to get back to the farm and check on this Quality 2 Honeysuckle.
When they reached the warehouse, he stopped the scooter and said to Fu Yao, "Wait here a minute!"
"Okay!" Fu Yao nodded. Looking around, she could tell this area housed the farm’s dormitories and warehouses.
Zhang Lin entered the warehouse and immediately spotted the one-jin package of dried Honeysuckle he had procured. He hurried over, picked it up, and read the item description:
[Dried Honeysuckle: Quality 2!]
[This is natural, wild Honeysuckle harvested from deep within the mountains. It is extremely rare and can only be purchased from old farmers in the countryside who frequent the mountains. When used to brew a special Honeysuckle Tea, it grants the following attributes:]
Cooling and Thirst-Quenching +1, Heat-Reducing +1, Constipation Relief +2
Auxiliary Formula for brewing Honeysuckle Tea: Licorice, Monk Fruit Stem, White Peony Root, Gentian Root...
Restrictions: 1. When brewed alone, the Honeysuckle produces only ordinary tea. 2. The formula is only effective when using game-produced dried Honeysuckle!]
Zhang Lin stared at the attributes, completely dumbfounded.
He knew about Honeysuckle, and he was aware of its cooling, thirst-quenching, and heat-reducing properties. In fact, almost anyone who grew up in the countryside would know that.
’But Honeysuckle can treat constipation?’
’And the Quality 2 bonus is specifically for that effect!’
He quickly pulled out his phone to look it up and discovered that it was true.
But that wasn’t the important part. The crucial thing was the Constipation Relief +2 attribute.
For many people, an attribute like this would be a godsend.
Very few people have never been constipated. Anyone who has knows it’s an experience you never want to repeat. It can even give you the desperate urge to try and dig it out with your own hands.
If someone was unlucky enough to have a hemorrhoid flare-up at the same time, the pain would be sheer torture. They’d probably feel like they were going to die on the toilet.
Hadn’t there been news stories online about people with hemorrhoids who also got constipated, causing a rupture and bleeding that landed them in the hospital?
The two restrictions in the description also made it clear: brewing the Honeysuckle by itself wouldn’t produce this effect. You had to use the formula. And conversely, the formula wouldn’t work without this specific Honeysuckle.
’It’s less about the Quality 2 Honeysuckle itself and more about this special folk recipe.’
Still, one was useless without the other.
Zhang Lin immediately grabbed the one-jin package of Honeysuckle, left the warehouse, and got back on his scooter.
"Uncle, is that Honeysuckle?" Fu Yao asked curiously.
"Mhm!" Zhang Lin nodded and explained, "I have an exclusive recipe. Plus, this isn’t ordinary Honeysuckle. Tea brewed with it has a special effect. I’m going to go buy the other ingredients for the formula and brew a batch. You can try some."
Fu Yao’s interest was instantly piqued. "Okay! My grandpa used to make Honeysuckle Tea for me all the time when he was still around. I haven’t had it in so long."
As she spoke, her expression turned sorrowful. The passing of a beloved relative makes reminiscing about the good times a painful affair.
As Zhang Lin rode the scooter through the canola Flower Sea, he noticed it was now bustling with tourists who were enjoying themselves, filming videos, and taking photos.
He could also see Liu De patrolling the area.
After opening the Flower Sea to the public, he had arranged for Liu De and a few other farmhands to patrol and promptly stop any unruly behavior.
Meanwhile, Lin Dawei and Lin Dayou were leading the other workers in developing more land. After all, he still had to meet the upgrade requirements for ten more agricultural products.
Even after that condition was met, only a little over 500 mu of the 2,000-mu plot had been developed. They might as well clear the rest of the land now to make future planting more convenient.
"Uncle, the tourists really love your Flower Sea!" Fu Yao said, watching them happily taking pictures.
"Do you want to stop and take a look around the Flower Sea?" Zhang Lin asked.
Fu Yao replied at once, "Even though I’ve already been, the Flower Sea is just so beautiful. I’d love to see it again."
Naturally, she also wanted to take some more selfies and videos.
Zhang Lin parked the scooter. "I’ll wait for you over here."
"Thanks, Uncle."
The girl was clearly delighted. She eagerly walked into the Flower Sea, found a good spot, and started taking pictures with her phone.
"Oh!" A surprised voice came from nearby. A young woman was looking at Fu Yao in astonishment. "Hey, you’re the model from that commercial, aren’t you? Can I get a picture with you?"
"Oh, s-sure!" Fu Yao was taken aback for a second, but she nodded in agreement.
The woman happily pulled out her phone and started taking pictures with Fu Yao, narrating gleefully, "Came to Li Yuan Farm to see the canola Flower Sea today and ran into the influencer from the ad! She’s just as pretty in person."
Clearly, the woman was thrilled.
Fu Yao, on the other hand, felt a bit embarrassed.
’How did I become an influencer?’
While she was still feeling bewildered, several other female tourists gathered around.
"It really is the girl from the commercial! Can we get a picture with you too?"
"Yeah, you’re just as pretty as you are in the video!"
"..."
These tourists were clearly thrilled, too; it was a pleasant surprise for them.
After all, the trip was already worth it just to see the stunning Flower Sea. Now, they had also run into the girl from the Darunfa Plaza commercial. Posting a photo with her to their Friends Circle would definitely rack up the likes, which was a very satisfying prospect.
Only Fu Yao was at a complete loss, having never experienced anything like this before.
Seeing this, however, put Zhang Lin in a thoughtful mood.
’I promised her a part-time job during the summer vacation. It seems I could put her to good use in this area.’
After finally managing to handle all the tourists, Fu Yao clearly wasn’t in the mood to sightsee anymore. She hurried back to Zhang Lin and said, "Uncle, let’s go check out the service center."
Zhang Lin smiled and rode the scooter toward the service center. Just as they arrived, however, he saw two unexpected people.
It was Chen Shengfei and his wife, from the other day.
Judging by their clothes and bearing, they were clearly not ordinary people; they were wealthy, to say the least.
’I can’t believe it. I messaged him last night about the grand opening, and he showed up today. His wife must really love the canola Flower Sea.’
"Mr. Chen, welcome!" Zhang Lin immediately went up to greet them.
"Boss Zhang, we meet again." Chen Shengfei smiled and shook Zhang Lin’s hand, then said with some embarrassment, "We actually set out this morning but got delayed by an unexpected issue on the road. That’s why we’re only just arriving now, around noon. I was wondering, do you offer lunch service here?"
Zhang Lin chuckled. "Mr. Chen, as it happens, our service center has a restaurant. Please, go on in and have a meal. In fact, we’ve even hired a master chef. We’d be honored to have you critique his cooking!"
"Really?" Chen Shengfei asked, surprised.
’The title of master chef isn’t something you can just throw around. It implies not only top-tier certification but also participation in prestigious culinary competitions. Their skills are superb, making them highly sought-after by high-end establishments. Their salaries are exorbitant, and many even receive a share of the profits.’
’He glanced around. This was clearly just a small farm, and its buildings were quite simple. A place like this shouldn’t be able to afford a master chef.’
’Then it dawned on him. Outside of the professional world, the title "master chef" isn’t so strictly defined. Almost anyone who’s been to culinary school calls themselves one, just like anyone who opens a store is suddenly "CEO so-and-so." Someone with just three years of cooking experience would have the gall to brag about being a master chef.’
’This Boss Zhang had probably hired that kind of "master chef." Still, even though he figured as much, he knew better than to point it out. It would be impolite to say something like that to someone he’d only met once.’
