Chapter 764 - 441: Golden-winged Roc

When Apache’s Ancient Sacred Bird bloodline was triggered, his personal consciousness was swiftly overwhelmed by a massive influx of information. As the power of his bloodline completely burst forth, his agonized screams came to an abrupt halt. Though his consciousness had perished, his thoroughly modified physical body was naturally the perfect "vessel" desired by the three Demon Immortals.

"Zou Feng, have you ever heard of... the Golden-winged Roc?" Jade Fox demanded, her tone boastful. Meanwhile, she pushed her Path of Rebirth to its absolute limit, initiating the possession right in front of Zou Feng’s eyes.

At this moment, all the power of the Demon-slaying Platform’s Array had been converted into a defensive barrier. They were clearly giving it their all to prevent Zou Feng from interfering with the possession. Thus, from the very beginning, the three Demon Immortals were hardly worried about any unexpected mishaps.

It boiled down to the same irrefutable fact: no matter how formidable Zou Feng was, he was ultimately limited to the Golden Core Realm. An Array like the Demon-slaying Platform, which concentrated so much Divine Power, could not possibly be shattered by him in a short amount of time.

What they didn’t know, however, was that Zou Feng never had the slightest intention of stopping them from possessing Apache. For one, he was completely confident in his own capabilities. Secondly, he was genuinely curious as to how three Demon Immortals were going to possess a single person. Could they really pull off a Three-in-One fusion!?

A brilliant golden light flared up, blazing even brighter than before, as radiant as the midday sun. But the light vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. By the time the onlookers’ vision cleared, Red Tiger and Cyan Wolf were no longer where they had been standing.

Instead, hovering in midair was a ten-foot-tall monstrosity with three heads and six arms. It had wings on its back and bird-like talons for feet. Its three heads were neither avian, feline, nor canine—they were entirely human. Two men and one woman.

One male head was heavily jowled, sporting a fierce and domineering expression; it was undoubtedly Red Tiger. The second male head was gaunt and deathly pale, its eyes gleaming with a cunning, ruthless light. No one needed to guess to know it was Cyan Wolf. The third head belonged to Jade Fox. She hadn’t possessed a fox head previously, and now she maintained her signature seductive, alluring beauty.

Thus, the three Demon Immortals successfully possessed the Ancient Sacred Bird, the Golden-winged Roc.

However, compared to their original plan, this was clearly an imperfect possession. Zou Feng’s sudden disruption had forced them to complete the process prematurely, meaning they hadn’t been able to raise Apache to his optimal state before taking over. Had they been able to do so, the three Demon Immortals fully anticipated that they could have used the opportunity to break through to the Nascent Soul Realm in one fell swoop.

Indeed, the primary reason they had gone to such immense lengths was to secure a much more powerful advancement to the Nascent Soul Realm. Their previous possession of the Demon Race was naturally to adapt themselves to demon bodies ahead of time, serving as a stepping stone for taking over the Golden-winged Roc.

As for why they had to resort to this specific "Three-in-One" trick... Naturally, it was to compete for the True Immortal Position of the Path of Rebirth in the future.

Red Tiger and the other two were originally triplet siblings. After joining the Ninefold Celestial Court, they relied on their decent Talent and the fact that the three of them always advanced and retreated together no matter what happened, allowing them to rise to prominence. However, as their Realm increased, they gradually realized the fundamental flaws of the Nine Immortal Ascension Skills.

To break this deadlock, they had no choice but to replace one of the True Immortals. Yet, having accidentally witnessed the terrifying strength of a True Immortal, they hardly dared to hold any hope for success. After all, it was a suppression that originated from the very soul itself. Even if they Cultivated to the same Realm as a True Immortal in the future, they still wouldn’t stand a chance.

But resigning themselves to fate simply wasn’t in their nature. The three pondered bitterly for years, searched the world over, and finally found a way to break the deadlock through the Path of Rebirth.

The bloodline of an Ancient Sacred Bird could allow them to break free from the suppression of the Celestial Court’s True Immortals. The Three-in-One fusion was equivalent to combining the Cultivation Talents of all three siblings into a single entity, ensuring their subsequent path of Cultivation would be perfectly smooth.

It was a brilliant plan, and everything had been going perfectly—until Zou Feng showed up to ruin it. But what was done was done. Failing to break through to the Nascent Soul Realm right away was acceptable; the plan was still a massive success. As long as they killed Zou Feng, everything would return to its proper track.

Yet, when they looked down at Zou Feng, they failed to see the shock and fear they so desperately wished to witness on his face.

The three couldn’t help but sneer in unison. He was ultimately just a reckless greenhorn, entirely ignorant of what an Ancient Sacred Bird truly represented.

In ancient times, the Golden-winged Roc was a supreme existence that fed on dragons. These Ancient Holy Beasts and Holy Birds were entirely unique entities, born of miraculous coincidences when the universe was first formed. As a result, they had no kin and were unable to form traditional species or tribes. Later on, they were gradually rejected by the Rules of Heaven and Earth, inevitably marching toward their own extinction.

As for why certain members of the Human Race inherited the bloodline of the Ancient Sacred Bird, it was most likely a final, desperate struggle by these Holy Beasts and Holy Birds to continue their lineage before fading into oblivion.

Regardless, the original Golden-winged Roc could never have imagined that its absolute last resort would merely end up serving as a convenient prize for three Tribulation Cultivators.

"Little brat, let’s see if you can still smile in a moment!"

Zou Feng’s unbothered demeanor only infuriated Red Tiger further. His impulsive and reckless personality snatched full control of the body. There was no point in wasting words; letting Zou Feng thoroughly experience the sheer terror of the Golden-winged Roc would be more than enough.

Red Tiger abruptly launched a charge, their massive body instantly transforming into a bolt of golden lightning.

The speed was unbelievable. Even though Zou Feng was on high alert, he couldn’t react in time and was solidly blasted by the golden lightning.

BANG!

Accompanied by a tremendous, muffled boom, Zou Feng plummeted from the sky like a kite with a snapped string.

Having landed a successful blow, Red Tiger immediately burst into manic laughter.

"Keep acting tough! Let’s see how tough you are now!"

Even as he roared, Red Tiger didn’t forget to deliver follow-up attacks. With every flap of his massive wings, bolts of golden lightning violently struck down, all zeroing in on the falling Zou Feng.
