I Can Transfer the Side Effects of Evil Skills
Chapter 788 - 454: Seven Fairy Sisters?
While one should naturally lend a helping hand when fellow sect members were in trouble, it should only be done within one’s capabilities.
However, the spatial rift harbored far too many unknown risks, and there was no telling what kind of perilous Outer Realm it led to. Thus, even if Zou Feng wanted to save them, there was absolutely no need to risk everything he had. Otherwise, that wouldn’t be a rescue mission; it would be like sending lambs to the slaughter, throwing their lives away one by one.
Seeing Zou Feng’s hesitation, Zhao Feixiong advised, "It’s too dangerous. We are only in the Golden Core Realm, after all. Rushing blindly into a spatial rift is... ill-advised!"
"Who said I was going in?" Zou Feng replied. As he spoke, he turned to look at Zhu Caiwei.
Taken aback by his gaze, Zhu Caiwei pointed at herself. "Th-this servant?"
"You’re the only Nascent Soul Cultivator here. If you don’t go, who will?" Zou Feng said matter-of-factly. "Just do your best. If the situation is beyond salvaging, retreat immediately!"
His words sounded perfectly reasonable, but Zhu Caiwei could only smile bitterly in her heart. To put it bluntly, Zou Feng was still guarding against her. This was completely normal, however. For a Maid to possess a higher Realm than her master—even if that master had other trump cards to rely on—was utterly absurd.
"This servant obeys!"
Knowing this was just another one of Zou Feng’s tests, Zhu Caiwei naturally dared not show any dissatisfaction. Besides, just as he had pointed out, diving into a spatial rift posed the lowest relative risk for a Nascent Soul Cultivator.
With a respectful bow, Zhu Caiwei wasted no time. Her figure blurred as she darted toward the spatial rift.
Once her silhouette vanished into the void, Zhao Feixiong couldn’t help but say, "Junior Brother Zou, treating a Nascent Soul Great Demon like this... what if you push her too far..."
Forget everyone else—even now, Zhao Feixiong found it incredibly surreal that a Nascent Soul Great Demon was still being ordered around like a lowly servant by Zou Feng.
Zou Feng clearly had a different perspective on his concerns.
"That Spider Demon Zhu Caiwei hasn’t been fully tamed yet. If you treat her with too much respect, she’ll just think you’re afraid of her.
"Only by keeping her on her toes will she be too afraid to harbor any treacherous thoughts."
Zhao Feixiong shrugged at that. Though he didn’t voice a rebuttal, he evidently still disagreed. If it were him, there was no way he’d dare boss around an entity whose Realm surpassed his own.
Zhu Caiwei didn’t take long to rescue their Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect peers from the spatial rift.
About half an hour later, a Flying Celestial Ship nearly identical to the Holy Lotus slowly emerged from the rift. There was, of course, a reason for its sluggish pace. Numerous octopus-like tentacles clung tightly to the rear half of the Divine Ship. These appendages strained relentlessly, trying to drag the vessel back into the void.
The Cultivators aboard the Divine Ship, alongside Zhu Caiwei, were launching all sorts of Skills at the tentacles to break their grip. Fortunately, since most of the hull had already cleared the spatial rift, it meant the remaining tentacles were at the end of their rope and could no longer cause much trouble.
Soon, the entire Flying Celestial Ship broke free completely. Everyone aboard the Divine Ship, Zhu Caiwei included, looked thoroughly exhausted, collapsing onto the deck and panting heavily.
Seeing that the ship had reached a relatively safe distance, Zou Feng finally steered the Holy Lotus forward to meet them. As they approached, he quickly noticed a familiar face aboard the rescued vessel.
It was Liu Chenyu, the True Disciple of the Immortal Sect who had tried to sabotage him back in the Demon Suppression Tower.
After he had rejected her back then, Liu Chenyu had plunged headfirst into the Northern Domain, acting as though she were going to vent her frustrations on those Tribulation Cultivators. He hadn’t expected that she would somehow get sucked into a spatial rift and encounter such immense danger that she was forced to send out a distress signal.
Had the Holy Lotus not happened to pass by, and had they not conveniently had a Nascent Soul Realm laborer like Zhu Caiwei on board, Liu Chenyu likely would have perished there.
Zou Feng didn’t care that he had saved her by some twist of fate. Although he didn’t care for the woman, she had never ended up on the List of Gods. As such, he couldn’t be bothered to hold a grudge against her. However, her seasoned lapdog, Du Rentian, was nowhere to be seen by her side.
Zou Feng immediately checked the List of Gods, only to find that Du Rentian’s name had vanished. Clearly, the man had already perished in the Northern Domain.
This was perfectly normal. Before Zou Feng had even returned to the Northern Domain, he had deliberately kept Du Rentian firmly at the top of the List for a while. Because of that, Du Rentian’s condition during his time in the Northern Domain must have been absolutely abysmal. It was entirely expected for him to meet a grisly end.
Of course, even if Du Rentian hadn’t met his demise, he wouldn’t be worth a single glance from Zou Feng now. Slaughtering that wretch would be as easy as butchering a chicken or a dog.
Meanwhile, Liu Chenyu was incessantly thanking Zhu Caiwei, her Nascent Soul Senior. The lingering terror of narrowly surviving had stripped the woman of her former elegance.
When she learned moments ago that Zhu Caiwei was a Senior from their own sect who had come specifically to rescue them, the once-despairing Liu Chenyu had nearly wept tears of joy. Now entirely out of danger, she was naturally showering Zhu Caiwei with profound gratitude.
Sensing the approach of another Flying Celestial Ship, Liu Chenyu subconsciously assumed that it had to be one of the Upper Sect Elders, or perhaps even one of the Direct Disciples.
To have a Nascent Soul Great Demon acting as a subordinate... it was highly probable that the newcomer was a Direct Disciple.
In the entire Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect, there were only slightly over a dozen Direct Disciples. If the Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect were viewed as a dynasty, then these dozen or so Direct Disciples would be equivalent to the most outstanding candidates for Crown Prince.
Yet, even someone like Liu Chenyu, who had been a True Disciple for years, rarely ever got a chance to see these Direct Disciples in person.
So, which Direct Disciple had arrived?!
