I Collect Skill Fragments in the Demon World

Chapter 1263 - 892: Transformation Technique

  • Next Chapter

"It’s only at the first tier of the Nine Revolutions Profound Skill, still too weak, I must push forward to at least the third tier, and cultivate the Transformation Technique!" Zhang Chen thought deeply as he gazed at the Nine Revolutions Profound Skill.

The Nine Revolutions Profound Skill consists of nine turns, yet it doesn’t correspond to the current cultivation levels. The first three tiers correspond to the pre-Immortal Dao, which is equivalent to today’s Twelfth Tier.

The middle three tiers correspond to Celestial Immortal, Golden Immortal, and Taiyi.

The last three tiers correspond to the realm of Daluo.

"I need to reach at least the third tier to be useful." Zhang Chen hesitated slightly as he looked at the Golden Finger Interface of the Nine Revolutions Profound Skill, then took out the elixir.

[Skill (First Tier): Nine Revolutions Profound Skill (0/10000000000)]

"A mere ten billion experience points; just a matter of a hundred elixirs." In the past, Zhang Chen had devoured countless elixirs, stashed away many, but now he had no choice but to consume them. The upcoming matters require the Transformation Technique of the Nine Revolutions Profound Skill, so Zhang Chen had no alternative.

Accompanied by the continuous increase in experience points, Zhang Chen gently tapped the Golden Finger Interface:

[Skill (Third Tier): Nine Revolutions Profound Skill (0/1000000000000)]

The Nine Revolutions Profound Skill reaching the third tier could almost be considered a great cultivator in the human realm, just a step away from achieving the Dao Fruit, yet the experience points needed have reached an astonishing level.

"The amount of experience required for the current Nine Revolutions Profound Skill is so immense, I wonder, if I find the Eight-Nine Profound Skill and combine it into the legendary Pangu True Form, how much experience would be needed then." Zhang Chen marveled inwardly.

In a flash, his form transformed into a stone, landing on the ground, the stone glowed and transformed into a mirror, then into a cricket, and then into a sparrow.

After a series of rather novel transformations, Zhang Chen’s form reappeared inside the house, revealing a contemplative look: "There’s a flaw in the Transformation Technique of the Nine Revolutions Profound Skill, if the attack power it receives exceeds the limit, it’ll revert to its original form, breaking the Transformation Technique."

Yet even so, it’s extremely extraordinary, for Zhang Chen had never heard of anyone mastering the Transformation Technique.

"My cultivation in the Immortal Dao now matches the Twelfth Tier of this world, but I am of the orthodox Immortal Dao, my cultivation surpasses the same tier in conversation, one could say mine is a full version while this world’s cultivators have a truncated version." Zhang Chen mumbled to himself, of course, he’s the full version while this world’s cultivators are the truncated ones.

Raising his hand, Zhang Chen inspected his own arm, noticing his palm was as fair and delicate as flawless jade, with not a single pore visible. His skin had transformed into jade-like bones, though he had yet to endure the Three Calamities, lacking the tempering of the Three Calamities, and thus not completing the final transformation.

"Even though my physique has changed considerably, described as being reborn anew, yet no impurities have flowed from my pores, seems my physique had perfected during the upgrade of the Blood Dao." Zhang Chen felt quite delighted, believing his strength was immense, capable of moving a whole mountain.

The Nine Revolutions Profound Skill always included the Powerful Warrior Moving Mountain. Now Zhang Chen’s cultivation had reached the Third Realm, the ability to move mountains had evolved to an exceedingly formidable level.

"Now if I claim: no Innate Spiritual Treasure, I am invincible, who agrees or opposes?" Zhang Chen felt inclined to shout.

However, he also sensed the situation wasn’t quite right, curious as to why?

Upon reaching the Twelfth Tier, he realized the magical power density within his body had reached a subtle equilibrium state with the external essence of heaven and earth; normally, it would be fine, both sides maintaining peace, but if he mobilizes his magical power, it causes internal fluctuations, akin to a cup full of water suddenly stirring, with water flowing outward, seemingly wanting to return to the Great Thousand World.

"It seems I might also face the Queen Mother’s dilemma, my magical power within has achieved a subtle balance with the essence qi between heaven and earth; my situation is slightly better than the Queen Mother’s, as long as I don’t engage vigorously, it won’t lead to my internal essence flowing toward the Great Thousand World." Zhang Chen slowly furrowed his brows, an uneasy look in his eyes.

"What the heck? This is a huge pit, how will I break through in the future? No wonder the Great Virtuous Master rarely acts, hiding in seclusion, and no wonder the Innate Spiritual Treasure requires lives to invoke, the reason lies here." Zhang Chen’s eyes revealed a hint of discomfort.

He recalled the Great Victory discovering a new world, but Zhang Chen felt it wasn’t necessarily a new world, if it truly was, the Queen Mother would’ve discovered it long ago, as would those old fellows.

Moreover, they are all within the Great Thousand World; even a world born within it would have a lower status, at most being a Middle Thousand World, unable to maintain his continued momentum for breakthroughs.

"Luckily, I still have the Peach Tree and the Tree of Life. As long as I can create a small world and plant the Peach Tree in it, no matter how Heaven and Earth change, I can survive. No, the Great Victory royal family has discovered a new world. If I refine that new world, store it within my Celestial Eye, and then plant my Peach Tree and Heaven-Reaching Jianmu, wouldn’t that be perfect? The newly born world must be better than the Thirty-Three Heavens. I might even be bolder; if I can refine the Thirty-Three Heavens into my small world, then my small world will surely evolve again. I will have countless possibilities to choose from in the future." Countless inspirations flickered in Zhang Chen’s mind.

He had already made up his mind to first destroy the Eight Great Clans and then seize the royal family’s new world to cope with future changes.

He always felt that the Essence Qi between Heaven and Earth would continue to decline, which may not be something good for him. If he doesn’t prepare in advance, the outcome might be extremely tragic. Perhaps the path taken by The Queen Mother of the West back then would be his last resort.

"So damn it!" Zhang Chen could not help but complain.

Is there anything more damnable than this? He was about to become immortal, yet the road ahead seemed to be cut off.

"Let’s talk about the future later. What I need to do now is to visit the Zhang Family, reclaim my dignity there." Zhang Chen suppressed his Qi Mechanism, then sat back on the bed, contemplating every detail of tomorrow’s visit to the Zhang Family. Only after a long while did he close his eyes and fall asleep.

Time slowly passed. The next day, before Zhang Chen had gotten up, Old Grandmaster Zhong had personally come to the backyard to visit, with ten maids following him, carrying food boxes. When they reached Zhang Chen’s courtyard gate, one of the gatekeeping maids greeted Old Grandmaster Zhong with a bow: "Greetings, Old Grandmaster."

"Is Young Master Zhang awake?" Old Grandmaster Zhong asked.

"Reporting to Old Grandmaster, Young Master Zhang is already awake." The maid respectfully bowed.

Old Grandmaster Zhong nodded, pushed the door open, and walked in to find Zhang Chen sitting by the window reading a book, appearing quite leisurely without a hint of impatience.

"Old Grandmaster." Zhang Chen, seeing Zhong Wubai enter, put down the book in his hand and smiled at Old Grandmaster Zhong.

"I know you like peace and quiet, so I’ve ordered breakfast brought to you." Old Grandmaster Zhong instructed the maids to place dozens of breakfast dishes on the table and then noticed Zhang Chen, a trace of surprise in his eyes: "Strange, you seem different today than yesterday?"

"How different?" Zhang Chen asked.

Old Grandmaster Zhong replied: "Can’t say for sure, just feel that today you seem to have more presence than yesterday, a kind of indescribable aura flowing over you, like you’re sharp yet trying to suppress it..."

"For some reason, when I saw you today, I felt like a mountain weighed on my heart, urging me to flee immediately, like you’re a mountain ready to crush me at any moment." Zhong Wubai looked at Zhang Chen meaningfully, believing his intuition that something about Zhang Chen had changed.

"Old Grandmaster’s intuition is sharp. I broke through again in my cultivation last night, maybe couldn’t restrain my Qi Mechanism, hence the pressure." Zhang Chen said with a smile.

"To what realm did your cultivation break through that you could pressure me?" Zhong Wubai’s eyes were filled with shock.

He was a Tenth Tier Great Cultivator, and just a trace of Qi Mechanism escaping from Zhang Chen could urge him to run, which indicated an incredibly terrifying strength.

Zhang Chen knew that he had inadvertently revealed some of his strength before Zhong Wubai, but he wouldn’t acknowledge it directly, instead opting for vagueness: "Just a breakthrough last night, nothing special!"

Zhong Wubai, being perceptive, noticed Zhang Chen’s reluctance to elaborate and chose not to pursue the matter further, opting to change the subject instead. Cultivation is the greatest secrecy for each person, so wisely avoiding probing was best. His question was a slip of the tongue out of shock, but he immediately realized the inappropriateness. Luckily, Zhang Chen didn’t mind.

While the two talked, the maid had arranged a myriad of pastries, from dumplings to crystal buns, neatly covering the table.

"When do you plan to visit the Zhang Family?" Zhong Wubai asked.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Chen smiled: "Originally planned for today, but I had another breakthrough last night. I need to settle down for two or three days before going."

Zhong Wubai sipped his porridge and nodded in agreement: "Smart, you need to ensure you have a plan before going, so you can take control of the situation."
