I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts
Chapter 1007: The Final Battle
Inside Han Zhan’s body.
The Dao forged from his divine flesh, with the addition of the Ancient Divine Soldier Pangu Axe, finally had its last missing piece of the puzzle filled in.
Now, the ten Ancient Divine Soldiers transformed into the core array eyes, shining brilliantly, vast and magnificent, reflecting and resonating within the Grand Array of billions of stars.
Each Divine Soldier is a single Creation Dao.
Ten Divine Soldiers, ten Daos, fused into an unprecedented, eternal Chaos Dao!
Han Zhan’s Realm, in this instant, began a mad ascent once more!
The Creation Divine Realm is the apex of the entire Cosmic Era, yet it is not the absolute limit.
For above it, there still exists the River of Eternal Darkness, like a nightmare gloom that has lingered across three Cosmic Eras.
But now, at last, another existence of equal Realm has appeared, one that can contend with it!
As the ten Daos merged into one, the eternal Chaos Dao returned to his body.
His level of life in that moment underwent a qualitative leap!
Han Zhan’s eyes snapped open.
Everything about the River of Eternal Darkness before his eyes, when viewed with his current life level and Realm, finally presented a different scene.
The originally pitch-black waters of the River of Eternal Darkness were actually masses of dense grey fog that could not be dispersed; it was only that his former Realm was insufficient, unable to see the true nature of these river waters.
And regarding this grey fog, Han Zhan had already attained another understanding.
It is Chaos Energy.
It is the Chaos Energy that, after Pangu cleaved heaven and earth open, either vanished or was Suppressed, all of it disappearing from sight!
Thus the River of Eternal Darkness annihilates everything, returning all things to chaos.
Thus its level is so high that not even the Creator Gods can contend against it.
Within chaos one cultivates cause and effect, forging the body of worldly annihilation.
If, as Donghuang Taiyi said, every Cosmic Era has a Cosmic Will belonging to it, then for the First Cosmic Era opened by Pangu, what was its Cosmic Will?
In this moment, the answer had already emerged.
The answer is: the River of Eternal Darkness whose purpose is chaotic annihilation!
Pangu cleaves heaven and earth open—this is the cause.
Chaos Spirit is born within Chaos Energy—this is the effect.
Pangu creates the world, so the Chaos Spirit must extinguish the world—this is cause and effect.
This also explains why Chaos Energy, which ought to have no consciousness, would nevertheless condense and gather into the River of Eternal Darkness, annihilating Cosmic Eras.
Because the Chaos Spirit is directing all of this.
This was the final truth Han Zhan discovered only after achieving the Chaos Dao and raising his own level to the Peak.
He saw, in the extreme distance, within the endless dark waters that annihilate all things, a pair of utterly indifferent eyes.
“So that’s how it is.”
Thinking this, Han Zhan softly murmured to himself:
“Only by ending cause and effect can one leap beyond fate.”
“Chaos Spirit should be my final opponent.”
Just as his words fell, he suddenly drew a deep breath.
With that inhalation, the boundless waters of the River of Eternal Darkness were abruptly drawn toward him, sucked into his body through his mouth and nose.
As his body took in this endless grey fog, faint grey light glimmered through his flesh, then quickly vanished.
Han Zhan’s Realm, which had just broken through, began to gradually stabilize after this fierce inhalation.
The waters of the River of Eternal Darkness are Chaos Energy; even the Creator Gods shy away from it, and even Pangu could only cleave chaos apart and then create the world.
But to Han Zhan now, with his lone Chaos Dao blazing throughout antiquity, the Chaos Energy untouchable even to the Creator Gods had instead become the finest possible nourishment.
The River of Eternal Darkness surrounding Han Zhan’s body was suddenly devoured clean.
This scene even made the Chaos Spirit freeze for a moment.
In the past, only it devoured Cosmic Eras; never had anyone like Han Zhan turned around and devoured it.
While it was stunned, Han Zhan had already begun his second deep breath.
Another vast stretch of the River of Eternal Darkness was swallowed by Han Zhan; this time, the Chaos Spirit could no longer sit still.
If it went on like this, it really might be “eaten alive” by Han Zhan!
Thinking this, the Chaos Spirit, which controlled the River of Eternal Darkness, moved.
In the Endless Star Sea, the River of Eternal Darkness that had been rampaging through the Cosmos and annihilating everything now, unprecedentedly, began to contract toward a single direction.
Spilt water actually had a day when it could be reclaimed.
And the speed was pushed to the extreme.
By the time Han Zhan drew his third deep breath, the Chaos Energy within the Cosmos was already scant.
He sighed regretfully.
If he could take a few more breaths, his Chaos Dao Realm would be completely stabilized.
But for now, it was enough.
Han Zhan lifted his head and once more looked toward the location of that previously indifferent gaze.
There, the River of Eternal Darkness, fully contracted, had become a ring-shaped Moat, encircling and guarding the central region.
A figure formed from condensed Chaos Energy appeared in that central region.
Now, the concentration of Chaos Energy in that area had risen to an exceedingly exaggerated level.
Han Zhan also saw, beneath that figure and at the deepest point of the River of Eternal Darkness’s riverbed, that “source.”
He let out a cold laugh. “Not entirely stupid.”
With the source of Chaos Energy under its control, the difficulty of resolving the Chaos Spirit would be greatly increased.
However…
“What have I to fear?”
Han Zhan strode forward with fierce resolve, crossing an unknowable distance in a single step.
When his figure appeared again, a Golden Longsword had already manifested in his hand.
Its blade was somewhat narrow, slender and long.
Complex and arcane symbols of chaos were condensed upon it.
Golden radiance blazed like a mighty sun, illuminating the darkness.
As Han Zhan gripped the hilt and moved, the Golden Longsword trailed a razor-thin, dazzling gold line through the Endless Cosmos.
The golden line shot straight ahead, like a roaring, soaring dragon, like a fierce tiger locked in savage battle, slamming headlong into the Moat formed by the encircling River of Eternal Darkness!
Golden light sprayed, grey fog surged.
The raging waters of the River of Eternal Darkness parted to both sides, not daring to meet its edge head-on.
The sword light of Han Zhan swept all before it, about to cleave Eternal Darkness asunder and restore clarity to heaven and earth.
Just then,
A grey blade of light that could shatter all things erupted suddenly from the depths of the River of Eternal Darkness, from the central region where the Chaos Spirit resided.
The grey arc of light spanned heaven and earth, cleaving straight down.
It intersected Han Zhan’s sword light in mid-air.
In that instant, a terrifying, annihilating energy surged from the point of impact, a Power surpassing the limits the Third Cosmic Era could bear; the entire Cosmos shook violently.
Strands of grey fog shredded by the sword light drifted back past the corner of Han Zhan’s eye.
His gaze was like a sword as he looked toward the central region.
There, the grey figure condensed by the Chaos Spirit was standing amid dense grey fog, a giant axe in its grasp.
A sense of strangeness yet familiarity rose to his heart; Han Zhan knew it could no longer possibly be his own leftover Creator body.
Thus only one answer remained.
“You have devoured Pangu’s cause and effect.”
“It took three Cosmic Eras.”
“So this is what you rely upon? I did not expect that the River of Eternal Darkness—the most powerful, most merciless, devourer and annihilator of all things—and you, Chaos Spirit, would have your final trump card be mere imitation of another.”
Han Zhan’s mocking words resounded; the grey figure suddenly vanished and recongealed.
The pressure of the giant axe’s cleaving wind made Han Zhan’s brows lift slightly.
The Golden Longsword, infused with the Power of Chaos, braced against it, the two contesting in deadlock.
This was now the second round.
