Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Miche: Laxus, Can You Give Me a Chance?

Hearing that she was going to be sent back, Amy’s heart immediately leapt into her throat.

"Uncle, I’ll be good and obedient from now on. Please don’t send me back, okay? I’m begging you."

The little female cub’s low sobs made Laxus feel sympathetic, and he frowned, continuing to persuade his sister.

Ophelia sneered inwardly, thinking that Amy had clearly learned quite a bit from Miche. At the very least, the girl could turn on the tears at a moment’s notice.

"Ophelia, this child is your own flesh and blood after all. You can’t just abandon her," Laxus said.

Ophelia’s lips curled into a mocking smile. "She was the one who wanted to cut ties with me in the first place. We have absolutely no relationship anymore."

"Since you won’t take care of her, can I keep Amy here?" Laxus asked tentatively.

"Even if you keep Amy here, I won’t spare a single bite of food for her. If you want to raise her, do it yourself." Unwilling to look at Amy any longer, Ophelia turned and left.

Seeing that Ophelia had really left, Amy panicked completely. She turned to her grandmother beside her, pouting pitifully. "Grandma Rebecca, I really know I was wrong. Please don’t abandon me."

Laxus sighed helplessly. "I’d better send you back to Loki. No matter what, he is still your father."

As soon as he said that, Amy resisted fiercely. "No, Uncle Laxus, please don’t! As long as you let me stay, I promise I’ll be obedient."

"Let’s see what your father has to say first." Laxus helplessly picked Amy up and caught up with Loki. "Loki, wait a minute. Take Amy back with you."

Seeing this dead weight appear before them again, a hint of disgust flashed in Loki’s eyes. After Amy’s recent behavior, he no longer liked this daughter very much. Besides, he would have more cubs with Miche in the future. He didn’t need this daughter anyway.

"Didn’t she want to stay with the Golden Dragon Clan? Then just let her stay with the Golden Dragon Clan," Loki said dismissively.

Laxus’s expression changed slightly. "What do you mean? Do you not want Amy anymore?"

"Laxus, Amy is Loki’s biological daughter. How could he not want her? It’s just that when he goes back this time, he has to take care of the sick members of the Snow Wolf Clan. He really doesn’t have time to look after Amy," Miche smiled, considerately explaining on Loki’s behalf.

Loki also realized he had misspoken just now, so he hurriedly tried to cover it up. "Miche is right. It’s better to let Amy stay with the Golden Dragon Clan for now. The Snow Wolf Clan is full of sick people, and it would be bad if Amy got infected."

"But Ophelia doesn’t want to see Amy. It would be awkward for her to stay in the tribe. If she goes back to the Snow Wolf Clan, at least she has you, her father," Laxus argued.

"Father, Ms. Miche," Amy called out in a low voice.

Miche put on a reluctant expression and said softly, "Amy, your father and I don’t want to leave you with the Golden Dragon Clan either, but if you go back with us, he won’t have time to take care of you."

Amy wasn’t stupid anymore; she could tell that Miche didn’t want her to return to the Snow Wolf Clan.

Miche rolled her eyes in thought. "How about this? Since Ophelia isn’t willing to take care of Amy, why don’t I stay with the Golden Dragon Clan and look after her? I was the one taking care of Amy back in the Snow Wolf Clan anyway. What do you say, Amy?"

Amy pursed her lips and remained silent.

Miche cursed her inwardly for being ungrateful, then shifted her gaze to Laxus.

Loki was also worried that Miche might get sick again if she returned to the Snow Wolf Clan. Perhaps staying with the Golden Dragon Clan was a good choice. "I think this is a good idea. Doesn’t Ophelia not want to take care of Amy? Then let Miche stay with the Golden Dragon Clan. She’s always been the one looking after Amy anyway."

Loki had a selfish motive as well. If Miche stayed with the Golden Dragon Clan, she might be able to find out the source of their herbal medicine. That way, if something similar happened in the future, he wouldn’t have to beg that wretched female Ophelia anymore.

"This..." Laxus hesitated. It was a good idea, but his sister despised Miche. If he really let Miche and Amy stay, his sister would probably throw a fit.

Just as Laxus was hesitating, Amy suddenly spoke up. "Uncle, I don’t want Ms. Miche to take care of me. I don’t like her anymore."

Amy could already see that her father truly didn’t want her anymore. Since that was the case, she wouldn’t let him and Miche get what they wanted.

Miche’s face turned ugly for a split second, but she maintained a gentle smile. "Amy, I treat you so well. Why don’t you like me all of a sudden? It breaks my heart to hear you say that. When you misunderstood Ophelia before, you also said you didn’t like her..." Miche deliberately tried to sow discord and badmouth Amy in front of Laxus.

"You’re a bad person! I just hate you!" Amy yelled. "Before, when I was sick, Father gave all my medicine to you so you would get better. Later, your brother even came to steal my medicine. I didn’t have any medicine to drink, which is why I’m still sick."

Amy’s eyes were filled with resentment. Galen’s fierce and vicious face made her wake up crying from her nightmares.

Hearing this, Laxus was in disbelief. "What? Loki, you actually embezzled the medicine I gave to Amy? You’ve gone entirely too far! Is Amy really less important to you than this little female?!"

Laxus’s face instantly turned cold, and he raised his fist, violently punching Loki. He had been wondering why Amy’s illness hadn’t improved and had instead grown increasingly worse. Today, he finally understood.

Seeing Laxus’s immense fury, Loki hurriedly offered an excuse to explain. "At that time, Miche was seriously ill, and Amy’s condition wasn’t as severe.

"I planned to personally take care of Amy once Miche recovered. I didn’t want things to turn out like this either."

"What? Loki, the medicine I drank back then was actually Amy’s?" Miche also put on a look of utter shock.

Loki looked over in confusion. Seeing her constantly winking at him, he could only play along. "You were too sick at the time. I didn’t think that much about it."

"Loki, how could you do such a thing!

"If I had known that it was Amy’s medicine, I absolutely would never have drank it. You went too far." Miche disguised herself as someone who was completely unaware, shifting all the blame onto Loki with her words.

Then, looking incredibly guilty, she grabbed Amy’s hand. "Amy, I’m so sorry. If I had known, I definitely wouldn’t have stolen your medicine. And I had no idea about Galen taking your medicine either.

"To think I trusted him so much! But he was just too worried about me. He did the wrong thing, and I apologize to you on his behalf. Will you please forgive us this once?"

The moment Miche spoke, her words dripped with a manipulative, fake innocence. She was acting so humbly now just because she wanted to go to the Golden Dragon Clan. In order to latch onto a Dragon Clan male, she could only suppress her disgust and continue to coax Amy. Worried that Laxus wouldn’t believe her, she covered her face and began to cry, as if she were the real victim.

"Laxus, I want to beg you to let me stay with the Golden Dragon Clan to take care of Amy. Treat it as my apology for the mistakes Loki and my brother made. Can you please give me this chance?"
