Chapter 68: Chapter 68: What He Wants Can’t Wait 3 Long Years

"I won’t regret this," Ophelia said, her voice muffled against him. "Not all mistakes deserve forgiveness. Once some things are broken, they stay broken."

"Yes. You don’t need to care about outsiders, Princess. As long as you are happy, that’s all that matters. I will handle the rumors outside for you," Tyler said softly, kissing the forehead of the person in his arms.

Ophelia’s mood improved significantly.

In the grassy nest, Ophelia rested her hand against Tyler’s chest, feeling his powerful heartbeat. The temperature in the small space continued to rise.

"Princess?" Tyler’s voice was a little hoarse. He looked up at her, wild waves surging in his deep brown eyes.

Ophelia didn’t speak. She simply leaned down and gently wrapped her arms around his neck. Her long golden hair fell and brushed against Tyler’s cheeks. She could feel his breathing quicken and his body temperature gradually rise, becoming scorchingly hot.

"Tyler," she called out to him softly. "I love you."

Tyler’s body stiffened, and then he felt something warm press against his lips. As they intertwined, Tyler gradually shifted from passive to active. His hands wrapped around Ophelia’s waist, slowly pressing her against him. His fingertips gently stroked the little female’s slender back, as if slowly seeping into her skin.

"Princess," he said, his voice deep and raspy. "May I?"

Ophelia curled her lips into a soft smile and kissed his cheek. "Fool."

Upon receiving permission, Tyler immediately took charge. He captured the little female’s soft, delicate lips with precision, cupping the back of her head as he kissed her. His kiss was gentle and reverent, as if he were kissing the goddess of his heart.

He whispered, his warm breath brushing against Ophelia’s ear. "Princess, give birth to a cub for me.

"My child will definitely be just like me—they will never betray you."

Ophelia’s eyes grew hot, and she gave a gentle nod.

The temperature continued to climb. Since there was an outsider in the stone house, their movements were incredibly light, and all sounds and whimpers were swallowed in their throats. It was restrained yet thrilling, subdued yet frantic.

A long while later, when peace finally returned, Ophelia listened to Tyler’s still-racing heartbeat and felt an unprecedented sense of security. She believed, and she knew for a fact, that Tyler would absolutely never betray her.

Tyler lowered his head and kissed the crown of her head. "Go to sleep. I’m right here."

Ophelia found a comfortable spot in his arms and slowly closed her eyes. Exhaustion gradually blurred her consciousness, but her body felt warmer than ever.

"The sky has cleared!"

"It’s stopped raining. Is the rainy season finally passing?"

"That’s great! I hope the sun comes out soon too. I’m practically growing mold staying inside the house."

Ophelia woke up to the surprised cheers of the males. She dressed neatly and stepped out of the stone house. Although the sun hadn’t come out, it had indeed stopped raining. The gloomy haze that had originally clouded Ophelia’s mood gradually lifted along with the clearing weather.

"Ophelia," Laxus called out as he walked over. "I discussed it with my father and the elders. We’re going to take advantage of the break in the rain to dig canals in the tribe and drain all the accumulated rainwater out of the settlement."

"Mhm, the rainy season should be over." She remembered that in her previous life, the rain hadn’t stopped at all during the middle of the season, which meant the rainy season had to be completely over now.

Currently, the Beast World had no farming tools. The males all used their claws to dig the canals and divert the water. It was exhausting work, but their hearts were full of joy.

"Thank you for your hard work," she said.

"Yeah." Laxus pondered for a moment, but ultimately swallowed the words he wanted to say. He then led a team of males down the mountain.

After the crowd left, another figure approached.

"Ophelia." It was Klein.

Ophelia turned her head. "White Tiger King. Is there something you need?"

"There is indeed an important matter I need to discuss with you," Klein said seriously. "The rainy season is over, and we will set off to return to the White Tiger Clan in a couple of days. I’m here to confirm our previous agreement."

So Klein had come for their prior agreement. Ophelia smiled. "Rest assured, White Tiger King. I always keep my word and never back out of a promise. The 3,500 sacks of grain you requested—I guarantee not a single sack will be missing."

"I believe you," he said. "However, we didn’t agree on a timeframe before. I want to set the deadline at half a year." Klein pointed out the loophole in their agreement and stated his demand.

"Half a year?" Ophelia was somewhat surprised by the deadline. Frowning slightly, she said, "Don’t joke around, White Tiger King. How could it be possible to produce 3,500 sacks of grain in half a year? Even if you combined the yields of the entire Starfall Continent, there wouldn’t be that much.

"The only reason I had that much on hand before was because my friends had excellent storage methods. Now, their food reserves are also practically depleted.

"I simply cannot produce that much grain in half a year. Are you deliberately making things difficult for me, White Tiger King?"

That was what she said out loud, but in reality, she could actually come up with that much grain within six months. However, if she really brought it all out, she was afraid it would draw the attention of the entire continent. After all, the current crop yield per acre in the Beast World wasn’t that high, and rice was only harvested once a year. Even the entire Beast World combined produced no more than 1,000 pounds at most.

Ophelia reasonably suspected that Klein was testing her. Ever since he arrived at the Golden Dragon Clan, he had a motive. He wanted to know where the grain in her possession came from, and had even deliberately sneaked into the cave to investigate.

"Then how long do you think you need?" Klein asked earnestly, as if his suggested half a year was truly inappropriate, seemingly realizing that his request was indeed a bit unreasonable.

Feigning difficulty, Ophelia said, "Three years."

"Three years? That won’t do; it’s far too long. With that much time, no one can guarantee what might happen in between," Klein immediately rejected the offer upon hearing it. He believed Ophelia would honor their agreement, but he couldn’t wait three whole years for what he wanted.

Ophelia frowned in thought. "Or I could return a portion of the crystal stones to you."

"I am a Mine Master. Do you think I have a shortage of crystal stones? I only want grain."

"Three years, and I will definitely deliver the grain to you," Ophelia said helplessly, refusing to budge from the three-year deadline.

"No, it’s too long," Klein said, his attitude resolute.

"Don’t be so stubborn," Ophelia retorted, biting her lip in exasperation.

"One year at most." Seeing her get angry, Klein had no choice but to relent.

"Could we do two years?" One year was still too short; bringing out the grain that quickly would still arouse suspicion.

"One year, no more than that." Klein had made his stance clear.

"Aren’t you just making things difficult for me?" Ophelia asked, growing somewhat angry. "Or is there something else the White Tiger King actually wants?"

Ophelia didn’t believe that someone as smart as Klein wouldn’t know it was utterly impossible to grow 3,500 sacks of grain in a single year. Him restricting the timeframe so tightly meant he definitely had ulterior motives.

"Spit it out. What exactly do you want?!" Ophelia stared warily at Klein’s handsome face, trying to discern his true intentions.

"I have an idea to solve this. I can help you." Seeing Ophelia so angry, Klein felt the timing was just about right, so he revealed his true thoughts.

"What idea?" Ophelia asked, half-doubting and looking hesitant. Did he really have such good intentions to help her?

"If you can’t deliver the grain within a year, we become mates. What do you think?"
