I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 70: They Are All Supported by Her!
Chapter 70: Chapter 70: They Are All Supported by Her!
A bustling crowd gathered on a high mountain near the Golden Dragon Clan, all eyes fixed on a middle-aged male. Leon’s expression was solemn. These members of the Snow Wolf Clan were the people his daughter had gathered for her new tribe.
Finding it difficult to make a decision, he was just about to send someone to fetch Ophelia when the males of the Golden Dragon Clan began to clamor.
"The males of the Snow Wolf Clan must leave! They aren’t Dragon Beasts at all. What right do they have to stay in the Golden Dragon Clan?!"
The words were like a stone tossed into a tranquil lake, startling the already restless fish beneath the surface.
"Exactly! The males of the Snow Wolf Clan are so weak. If they stay, they’ll only steal the prey in our territory. It’s completely unfair!"
Most of the Golden Dragon Clan members were Dragon Beasts, making them highly xenophobic—especially toward these Wolf Beasts, whom they viewed as inherently weak. While they welcomed the young females of the Snow Wolf Clan to join and bring new blood to strengthen their tribe, they absolutely would not tolerate the females’ male partners staying.
The presence of these male partners would not only drain their territory’s hunting resources but also ruin their own chances of mating with the young females. Having their own male partners, these females would naturally reject the Dragon Beasts. If those males were allowed to stay, no matter how many Dragon Beasts pursued the females, they could never usurp the status of their original partners. How could the Golden Dragon males possibly accept that?
"That’s right! As long as those males are around, the young females will never truly mate with us and bear our cubs."
"Exactly, they cannot stay!"
"It’s already an act of mercy that we haven’t killed these males. We can’t let them stick around and be an eyesore," an older but unmated male said coldly.
The other males chimed in, talking over one another. Since the elders of the Golden Dragon Clan also disapproved of the Snow Wolf Clan males staying, the Golden Dragon males felt even more emboldened. Their words became increasingly reckless and aggressive.
Arriving at a new tribe was already an unsettling experience. Hearing the Golden Dragon males pressuring them at every turn, the young females of the Snow Wolf Clan grew even more terrified. Without their familiar partners by their sides, they would be paralyzed with fear.
Hearing the demands, several Snow Wolf males scowled, their hearts burning with equal anger.
"We will not leave our partners."
"If you insist on driving us away, we will take our females and leave together, even if it means death!"
The females of the Snow Wolf Clan quickly stepped up to stand beside their mates, their gazes resolute as they glared at the Golden Dragon Clan. "That’s right! If you insist on kicking our partners out, then we won’t stay either.
"We stay together, or we leave together!
"If you force this upon us, even if we are forced to stay, we will never mate with the Golden Dragon males. After all, the Beast God decrees that males cannot force themselves upon females.
"Even if you do force us, we will sever the mating bond and turn you into Wandering Beasts!"
The young females’ threats darkened the faces of the Golden Dragon males, whose glares at the Snow Wolf males turned increasingly hostile. The elders of the Golden Dragon Clan frowned, clearly not expecting the situation to escalate to this point. They had assumed that a little pressure would force the Snow Wolf males to leave obediently. They never imagined the young females would stand so firmly by their partners, even going so far as to threaten to sever their mating bonds.
Empowered by their partners’ unwavering support, one of the Snow Wolf males sneered. "You used despicable methods to snatch our mates in the first place, and now you refuse to tolerate our presence. The so-called magnanimity of the Golden Dragon Clan is nothing but a joke."
Tension saturated the air. The conflict finally ignited when a hot-tempered Golden Dragon male threw a punch. Both sides immediately lunged at each other, sparking a chaotic brawl. Standing on the sidelines, Leon watched with a deepening scowl.
As the fight grew more intense, the Snow Wolf males quickly fell at a disadvantage. Seeing this, one of them broke away and rushed to find Ophelia.
"Ophelia! The Golden Dragon males are fighting us!" he shouted, panting heavily as he found her.
Ophelia furrowed her brow at the news. "Everything was perfectly fine. Why would a fight suddenly break out?"
"The Golden Dragon males insisted on driving us away, so a fight started. But they were the ones who struck first! We were only forced to defend ourselves."
Upon hearing the situation, Ophelia immediately rushed to the scene with Tyler in tow. By the time she arrived, the area had devolved into utter chaos. The males of both clans were shoving and pummeling each other, a cacophony of dragon roars and wolf howls echoing through the air.
One young female from the Snow Wolf Clan was shoved in the melee, stumbling backward and nearly crashing to the ground. Ophelia, quick on her feet, darted forward and caught her just in time.
"Ah!" the female cried out.
"Are you alright?" Ophelia’s concerned voice sounded by her ear.
"I’m fine," the young female replied, biting her lip and shaking her head gently. She had interacted with Ophelia back in the Snow Wolf Clan, though they weren’t exactly close.
Yet, watching her partner get beaten down, she gathered her courage and pleaded, "Please, let my partner stay! We’ll be good and obedient. We will mate with the Golden Dragon males. We... we will even bear cubs for the Golden Dragon males first."
Her voice trembled slightly, and her fingers gripped the hem of her clothes in a desperate bid to suppress her mounting terror of the future.
Ophelia gently patted the young female’s shoulder, her tone gentle. "Don’t worry. I will handle this."
The young female bit her lip, a spark of hope igniting in her eyes. "Can you really help me? But the Golden Dragon males..."
Ophelia nodded, her voice steady and reassuring. "You are my people. You have nothing to do with the Golden Dragon Clan. You don’t need to worry about anything; just focus on taking care of yourselves.
"They have no right to decide whether you stay or leave!"
Overwhelmed with gratitude, the young female said, "Thank you, Ophelia."
Ophelia offered a faint smile before turning back toward the brawl. Her gaze turned icy as she shouted out a sharp reprimand. "Stop, all of you!"
Though her voice wasn’t deafening, it carried an unquestionable authority. The battling males immediately halted their movements and turned to look at her.
Seeing her approach, the Great Elder spoke, a hint of dissatisfaction lacing his tone. "Ophelia, you were the one who made the decision to keep these young females.
"Now that we are moving back to the tribe, you must understand that there simply isn’t enough open space to house these outsider males. We only agreed to let the young females stay."
An enigmatic smile played on Ophelia’s lips as she replied calmly, "Who said the people of the Snow Wolf Clan are returning to the Golden Dragon Clan? They are my people. They have absolutely nothing to do with the Golden Dragon Clan."
The Great Elder’s face darkened, and he raised his voice. "When they arrived, they brought absolutely no food with them! These past few days, they have been eating the food of the Golden Dragon Clan!"
It was true that the people of the Snow Wolf Clan had been surviving on the food distributed by the tribe. However, what the Great Elder failed to realize was that the tribe’s current food reserves had been exchanged entirely for the rice Ophelia "sold."
In other words, when the males of the Golden Dragon Clan had completely run out of food, they had been surviving entirely on Ophelia’s prey!
The other oblivious males chimed in. "That’s right! The fact that we shared our food to keep their bellies full during the rainy season is already more than fair."
"Exactly! After the tribe fed them for so long, they should have the decency to leave on their own."
