I Fuse All Things and Become the Strongest Cultivator
Chapter 387: A Conversation Between Master and Disciple
As long as his Master could still smile, the problem probably was not too serious. However, seeing Xiao Shou laughing so uncontrollably, he blinked his eyes in confusion and asked, "It was only a matter of tricking a few fools. Is it really that funny?"
"Of course! With the way you usually behave, I can already imagine the utterly baffled and frustrated expressions on their faces."
After saying this, Xiao Shou could not help laughing a few more times. "Hahaha..."
Well, making his Master laugh was pretty good too. Fu Young waited until Xiao Shou had finally laughed enough before asking, "What exactly happened? Can’t you tell me?"
"It’s not that I can’t tell you. I just can’t quite figure it out." Xiao Shou leaned against Fu Young’s shoulder and told him everything that had happened during the Rong Family Patriarch’s visit.
He then asked troubledly, "Why do you think Tushan Qing... Grandfather did something like that? I know he did it for my sake, but... does that mean he can kill so many people just because of me? With so many people involved, surely there must have been some innocent ones among them, right?"
So that was what had been troubling his Master.
Fu Young realized that the rules of his Master’s world were truly very different from those of his own world. He would have to pay more attention to this in the future. With that thought in mind, he said, "Perhaps it’s because the rules for survival in this world are different. At least if I encountered something like this, my first thought would be the same as your grandfather’s. I would never allow anyone who disrespected you, or anyone who might harbor hostility toward you, to continue living in this world."
"Young’er!" Seeing Fu Young’s serious expression, Xiao Shou suddenly remembered that when they returned yesterday, Fu Young had also said that he was too softhearted and should have dealt with the Gou Family Patriarch and the others in one go.
So Tushan Qing had not been wrong.
The problem was with him.
He had not yet fully adapted to the rules of this world. Because he had failed to eliminate the Gou Family Patriarch himself, Tushan Qing had stepped in instead.
But why?
Looking at Fu Young’s unwavering expression, Xiao Shou thought inwardly, Even if the worlds are different, our values are completely different, aren’t they?
He helplessly rubbed his forehead. "I’ll think about it carefully."
"Master, you don’t have to think about it. Just be yourself. I’ll handle everything else. From now on, I won’t let you worry about these things anymore." Fu Young tightened his grip on Xiao Shou’s hand and looked at him seriously.
At that moment, with the young man’s peerlessly handsome face and sincere dark eyes reflecting his own image, Xiao Shou suddenly felt his cheeks grow hot.
For some inexplicable reason, he turned his face away and did not dare look at Fu Young.
He wanted to pull his hand back, but doing so seemed too deliberate, so he simply remained frozen there and lowered his head. "This isn’t about whether I’m worried or not. Being myself doesn’t mean I should stop growing. I still have to learn to adapt to the rules of this world. I can’t exactly expect the rules of this world to adapt to me, can I?"
Why not?
This world should simply submit to Master and revolve around him.
Fu Young almost said those words, but when he saw Xiao Shou raise his head in surprise, he swallowed the rest. He pursed his thin lips before saying, "In my heart, Master, you are the best and most precious person in this world. Even the laws governing survival in this world should submit to you."
"Heh... Young’er, I’m very happy to hear you say that. But I’m just an ordinary cultivator right now. I’m not nearly as powerful as you think." Xiao Shou felt as though his cheeks were burning. He lowered his head again and let out a quiet laugh before expressing his thoughts. "The laws of survival that naturally arise in every world must be the ones best suited to that particular world. Interfering with them artificially doesn’t necessarily make things better."
"Is that really what Master thinks? Or does you simply not care about this world at all, so it doesn’t matter what happens to it?" Fu Young could not help gently lifting Xiao Shou’s hair and letting it fall between his fingers as he stroked it. "Whatever. I have no interest in any of that, and I don’t really care. As long as Master is happy, that’s enough. I’ll always listen to you anyway."
"Mm! I know." By now, even Xiao Shou’s ears and neck had turned red. He did not dare look at Fu Young at all.
He let his thoughts run wild for quite some time, yet afterward, he could not even remember what he had been thinking about.
Only after the heat in his cheeks gradually faded, and Fu Young left his seat to prepare a pot of Bodhi Tea for him, did Xiao Shou finally calm down.
He did not dare think about what had just happened. To distract himself, he thought for a moment before asking, "Then how are you planning to respond to the Rong Family?"
"Does Master want the Gou Family’s assets?" Fu Young answered with a question instead.
Xiao Shou hurriedly shook his head. "Of course not. I can’t even figure out how to manage the Eternal Prosperity Sect properly. Besides, we’re not lacking those resources."
"Hehe... I knew Master would think that way. Since you aren’t interested, then let’s leave it to Gou Guangyan to handle. Those things originally belonged to him anyway. Since he’s a disciple of our Eternal Prosperity Sect, giving him some appropriate support is only natural."
Fu Young smiled as he explained his plan. He had no intention of wasting his energy on matters unrelated to his Master. In this life, he only wanted to worry about his Master and devote himself to taking care of him.
