Chapter 535: Tragic Fate of the Immortal Sword’s Inheritor

  • Next Chapter

Through her various schemes, the original Heavenrise Immortal Sword’s inheritor suffered an increasingly miserable fate. In the end, her cultivation was completely crippled, and after enduring repeated sexual violence, she died a tragic death. With that, the female protagonist completed her mission to avenge An Tae’s family.

After all, this was a quick transmigration novel, so these events were only summarized briefly.

The story’s detailed account focused on what happened after the mission was completed. Rather than leaving the world immediately, the female protagonist remained until the great calamity arrived. She and the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor were ordered to join the battle.

At first, they slaughtered their enemies in every direction. Midway through the battle, however, the female protagonist, Baili Ruoxi, deliberately pretended to have been seriously injured through a moment of carelessness, leaving herself unable to fight.

At that point, enemies surrounded them from every direction. Baili Ruoxi hoped that, under such overwhelming pressure, the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor would reveal an opening. Ideally, she wanted him to be gravely wounded and on the verge of death, giving her the perfect opportunity to seize the Heavenfall Immortal Sword and take it back to the Mystic Azure Realm.

Unexpectedly, even under those circumstances, the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor acted without hesitation. Although he had made no preparations and had never created the sword technique that the reborn individual had envisioned, he forcibly controlled the Heavenrise Immortal Sword and combined the two swords to exterminate the invading enemies.

After killing every enemy in the surrounding area, he remained standing, apparently without a single weakness.

It was only when the female protagonist tried to approach him that she discovered he had already reached the very end of his strength, with almost nothing left to sustain him.

Before he died, the inheritor of the Heavenfall Immortal Sword looked at her and said, "As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters." Then he closed his eyes and passed away.

At the same time, she obtained dozens of times more fortune than the Chosen Children of Fate who had died for her in other worlds. This was neither the first time a man had died for her nor the first time she had schemed to make a man die for her. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, this particular death shook her soul to its core.

She was overwhelmed with grief over the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor’s death. Only then did she realize that, over the course of those long years, she had gradually turned her act into reality. Without even realizing it, she had genuinely fallen in love with him.

When she picked up the Heavenfall Immortal Sword again, she realized that she had caused the death of the person she loved for the sake of obtaining the sword itself. Overwhelmed by pain, self-reproach, guilt, and self-loathing, she succumbed to cultivation deviation. She then self-destructed, taking herself and both immortal swords with her, and destroyed the entire Mystic Jade Realm.

However, when the female protagonist transmigrated between worlds, she used the bodies of her clients. Naturally, the body she used when she succumbed to cultivation deviation and self-destructed also belonged to her client. Thus, after destroying the Mystic Jade Realm, she returned to the Mystic Azure Realm and regained her senses.

Yet she had become utterly disillusioned with everything. She no longer cared about beauty, improved aptitude, or any of the other things she had once desired.

To help her regain her will to live, the system told her that the inheritor of the Heavenfall Immortal Sword had been the reincarnation of a fragment of a great figure’s soul. Although the inheritor had perished, fragments of his soul still existed. Just before his death, the system had collected a tiny remnant of his soul. In the future, she could travel to other worlds through missions to find his remaining soul fragments, remove the imprints left on them, and repair his soul.

Only then did the female protagonist regain her motivation. She spent the next ten thousand years traveling throughout various worlds, collecting the fragments of the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor’s soul.

During this process, the true nature of the so called system was finally revealed. It turned out that the system itself had been formed from a part of the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor’s original body. That was why it could connect to countless worlds in which fragments of his soul existed. Most of those fragments were attached to various objects and treasures.

Very few of them had reincarnated as humans, as he had.

As she gradually collected more and more fragments of his soul and original body, his soul was eventually restored to the point where he could regain consciousness. The female protagonist then used the system and those fragments of his original body to reconstruct a physical body for him.

However, she never dared to tell him that she had been the true culprit behind his death. Consequently, she did not dare confess her feelings to him either.

The worlds she visited afterward became increasingly dangerous. On many occasions, the resurrected Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor stepped in to save her when she was in danger.

Eventually, the female protagonist found the largest fragment of his soul in the Divine Realm. It belonged to the only Ultimate One in the Divine Realm, a figure whose name no one dared to utter and whom everyone addressed simply as the Ultimate One.

After accumulating sufficient power in the Divine Realm, the resurrected Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor, who had accompanied the female protagonist through countless worlds after his revival, finally challenged that Ultimate One to a life-or-death battle in order to become whole again.

Before the battle, the female protagonist sincerely apologized to him, confessed everything, and took the initiative to declare her love for him.

In response, the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor told her, "When this battle is over, I’ll come back and give you my answer."

However, what happened next was infuriating. The author never continued the story. Instead, after finishing the opening scene of the battle between the Heavenfall Immortal Sword’s inheritor and the Supreme, she simply stopped writing.
