I Grind to Martial Saint
Chapter 309 - 263: Disturbance
"This young friend’s bloodline... it’s quite special."
Chunyangzi said softly, looking at the Orange Cat.
"Meow~ Of course it is!"
"You’ve got a good eye, old Daoist!"
Hearing this, the Orange Cat couldn’t help but puff out its chest in pride.
Chunyangzi was even more astonished to hear the Orange Cat speak.
"Daoist, can you tell what his origins are?"
Han Yuan asked.
"That, I’m not so sure about."
"He can speak the human tongue. Is he not able to explain his own origins?"
Chunyangzi asked softly.
"I, Lord Meow, have forgotten all my memories."
"So I don’t even know who I am anymore."
The Orange Cat sighed in resignation.
"But I did find him in some ruins from the Chaotic Ancient Era."
Han Yuan added.
"The Chaotic Ancient Era... In that case, he might be some kind of Exotic Beast."
"Back then, the Chaotic Ancient Era was home to many powerful Exotic Beasts. Unfortunately, after a period of turmoil, they were nearly all driven to extinction."
"He probably used some method to survive, but it came with severe side effects, like amnesia."
Chunyangzi analyzed.
"Meow~ That sounds plausible."
"Then how can I get my memories back?"
The Orange Cat asked.
"You could try to improve your Cultivation. As it increases, you might awaken your memories."
Chunyangzi suggested.
"Is that so... Then I, Lord Meow, must get serious about Cultivation!"
The Orange Cat’s expression turned serious.
Afterward, Chunyangzi asked Han Yuan about Master Xuanye.
Chunyangzi was deeply moved to hear that even over a century after his death, a remnant of his old friend’s soul had helped Han Yuan slay Evil Spirits.
Years ago, he and Master Xuanye had parted ways; Master Xuanye returned to Cangshui County, while he came to Taicang Mountain.
He never imagined that would be their final farewell.
Later, Chunyangzi began to explain the history of the base to Han Yuan and Ding Zihu.
It turned out that the Profound Celestial Alliance had been formed by many masters from across the Vast Universe.
At the time, due to a disturbance from the Source Seed, many of these masters sacrificed themselves to prevent it from emerging into the world, hoping to suppress and destroy it completely.
It was after that great turmoil involving the Source Seed that the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi began to wane, bringing the Chaotic Ancient Era to a definitive end.
"So, you’re saying the Profound Celestial Alliance vanished along with the end of the Chaotic Ancient Era. The masters who were fortunate enough to survive left behind their legacies across the land, establishing various branches."
"My sect must be one of them."
Ding Zihu speculated aloud.
During their earlier conversation, Chunyangzi had already learned that Ding Zihu’s sect was a branch descended from the Profound Celestial Alliance.
He said softly, "That is indeed a possibility."
’I never would have guessed this was the Profound Celestial Alliance’s true origin.’
Ding Zihu himself had never imagined that the Profound Celestial Alliance, which the myriad sects of the Profound Technique Dao had been searching for, was actually a vast organization formed from countless sects of their own kind.
No wonder the Profound Technique Dao hadn’t found any clues after all these years.
Han Yuan’s gaze shifted to the Pill Furnace.
"Senior... what’s the current status of the Source Seed Shredded Meat inside?"
At this, Chunyangzi’s expression grew grim. "Back during the disturbance in the Chaotic Ancient Era, the many masters of this base sacrificed themselves to eliminate this Source Seed Shredded Meat. Unfortunately, it still managed to survive in the end."
"Lately, as the Spiritual Qi has grown more potent, it has shown signs of stirring several times..."
"If this continues, I’m afraid even I might not be able to suppress it."
Hearing this, Ding Zihu couldn’t help but say, "Senior, is there really no way to completely eliminate it?"
Chunyangzi said in a deep voice, "For the past hundred-plus years, I have actually been preparing for this very problem."
"Look at the ground."
At his words, Han Yuan and Ding Zihu both looked down at the ground.
They saw the ground covered in crimson lines, densely interwoven into a pattern that was dizzying to behold.
The patterns grew even more complex near the Pill Furnace, yet they didn’t feel chaotic.
"This is an array that I spent nearly thirty years arranging. It is called the Divine Flame Array."
"I was originally planning to activate it in the coming days, coordinating with this Alchemy Furnace, to try to burn the Source Seed Shredded Meat inside to cinders."
"I was only fifty percent confident before, but now that you’re here, I’d say my chances are closer to seventy percent."
Chunyangzi explained, referring to the Array Patterns on the ground.
As the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi recovered, Chunyangzi knew that he couldn’t possibly suppress the Source Seed Shredded Meat in this Alchemy Furnace forever.
So he had to use the Array to incinerate it while it was still at its weakest.
Otherwise, if this Source Seed Shredded Meat recovered its power, it wouldn’t matter how many Chunyangzis there were.
To put it in perspective, back then, the Taicang Base was guarded by a Primordial Spirit Abnormal Person, over a dozen Innate Martial Artists, and many other Martial Artists and Abnormal People.
Even so, when faced with just one seventy-second of the Source Seed Shredded Meat, they fought for their lives and still failed to destroy it.
That’s why Chunyangzi planned to exterminate this fragment of the Source Seed before it could recover much of its strength.
"Senior, how do you want us to assist you?"
Ever since learning the history of the Profound Celestial Alliance, Ding Zihu felt that as a descendant of one of its branches, he had a duty to help.
"I don’t know what will happen either."
"We’ll just have to play it by ear."
"Because anything could happen."
Chunyangzi said in a deep voice.
"Senior, you just focus on eliminating this Source Seed Shredded Meat... leave the rest to us."
Han Yuan said in a clear voice.
"Meow~ Meow! I’m pretty tough too! I can even help add some fuel to the fire!"
Even the Orange Cat chimed in.
"Thank you all."
Chunyangzi said, cupping his fist.
