I Grind to Martial Saint
Chapter 312 - 264: Fierce Battle (2)
"Why’d you stop fighting?"
Like a crazed beast, Han Yuan wildly smashed his Giant Spirit Monument-Opening Hand into the Cyan Ghost.
He paid no mind even as the Cyan Ghost’s White Bone Mace repeatedly crashed against his body.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The two began to clash in a savage melee.
Han Yuan rained down one heavy, powerful blow of his Giant Spirit Monument-Opening Hand after another. It didn’t matter how hard the Cyan Ghost’s head was; its flesh exploded and tore away, leaving only the skull.
Han Yuan had even smashed its eyeballs to a pulp.
Even the skull, said to be harder than Divine Iron, was gradually being twisted out of shape by Han Yuan and was beginning to show signs of cracking.
At the same time, Han Yuan had also suffered numerous heavy injuries.
The power of the Cyan Ghost, combined with the blows from its White Bone Mace, was not to be taken lightly.
Even empowered by his Vajra Indestructible Divine Skill, his muscles and bones were still cracking and bursting open all over his body. He was a gory, exceptionally savage sight.
Ding Zihu and the Orange Cat could only watch from the sidelines, completely unable to intervene.
"Han Yuan’s physical body... it’s just too terrifying."
"In terms of pure physical toughness, I’m afraid even some Innate Grandmasters wouldn’t measure up to him!"
Ding Zihu exclaimed in horror.
The Orange Cat tried to spit out a fireball several times.
But the battle between Han Yuan and the Cyan Ghost was too fierce, and they moved so erratically that it couldn’t get a lock, much to its frustration.
"Giant Spirit·Gang Splitting Slash!"
In the thick of the brutal struggle, the demonic nature in Han Yuan’s heart swelled, making him utterly violent and vicious.
The moment this feeling reached its peak, Han Yuan roared. Terrifying Demonic Qi burst from his body as his black hair flew about wildly. The muscles in his arms swelled and bunched up, giving him a monstrously ferocious appearance, as dreadful as a Demon Lord incarnate!
He clasped his hands together, forming a Hand Blade that chopped down toward the Cyan Ghost’s head like a heavy saber!
This strike was an eruption of pure, unadulterated power.
BAM!!!
The Cyan Ghost’s skull was instantly smashed to pieces by Han Yuan’s Hand Blade.
Half of its body was obliterated along with it!
After executing this move, Han Yuan seemed completely drained. His figure rapidly shrank back to normal, his face grew pale, and his breathing became ragged and chaotic.
That last move had indeed required every last bit of his Qi Power. Otherwise, he never would have been able to shatter the Cyan Ghost’s head.
Seeing this, Ding Zihu and the Orange Cat hurried over.
"I’m alright... You two, burn the Cyan Ghost’s corpse!"
Han Yuan said coldly.
Evil Spirits are far from ordinary beings. They can survive even with their heads cut off, to say nothing of this one, which was born from a mere wisp of energy from the Source Seed Shredded Meat.
Hearing this, Ding Zihu hurriedly took out his Eight Trigrams Mirror.
The Orange Cat, meanwhile, immediately spewed a great gout of flame.
With the combined efforts of man and cat, they finally managed to incinerate the Cyan Ghost’s corpse until it melted away.
But the process still took more than an hour.
By the time the Cyan Ghost’s body was reduced to ashes, the Orange Cat was sprawled on the ground, panting heavily with its tongue lolling out.
Even Ding Zihu was drenched in sweat.
If Han Yuan hadn’t been there, the two of them would have stood no chance against the Cyan Ghost.
It was this much trouble just to dispose of the corpse.
’He didn’t even want to think about what a real fight would have been like!’
Meanwhile, seeing the Cyan Ghost reduced to cinders, Chunyangzi finally let out a sigh of relief.
He focused all his energy on driving the Divine Flame Array, hoping to refine the Source Seed Shredded Meat as quickly as possible.
OMMM~~~
Seeing this, Han Yuan took out an Elixir Pill to restore his vitality, swallowed it, and sat cross-legged on the ground to meditate.
He didn’t know if another disturbance would occur, so he had to recover his strength as quickly as he could.
Ding Zihu and the Orange Cat did the same.
Time trickled by.
After three days, the Source Seed Shredded Meat inside the Alchemy Furnace was at last completely refined.
This was because the twisted, evil aura from within the Pill Furnace had completely vanished.
But Chunyangzi still didn’t dare to be careless. To be on the safe side, he pushed himself to maintain the array for another two days before finally shutting down the Divine Flame Array.
But Chunyangzi still didn’t open the Alchemy Furnace.
The power of the Source Seed Shredded Meat was far too strange. When this Alchemy Furnace was first forged, it had been designed not only to be incredibly durable but also to possess powerful insulation properties to prevent its contamination from spreading.
This also meant that no one outside could observe the situation inside the Alchemy Furnace.
So, Chunyangzi couldn’t be certain whether the Source Seed Shredded Meat had truly been refined.
The safest method was to simply not open it for the time being.
’Even if the Source Seed Shredded Meat wasn’t completely refined by the Divine Flame Array...’
’After being incinerated for so many days, its Vitality must be severely damaged. It shouldn’t be able to cause any more trouble.’
As Chunyangzi thought this, he suddenly began to cough violently.
As he coughed, he began to spit up dark red blood.
Ding Zihu rushed over to check on Chunyangzi, only for the old master to collapse.
Luckily, Ding Zihu was quick enough to catch him.
"Master, are you alright?"
Han Yuan walked over and asked.
"He’s not alright... His qi channels are in complete chaos. We need to treat his injuries at once."
As Ding Zihu spoke, he took out an Elixir Pill and administered it to Chunyangzi.
Fortunately, he too was an Abnormal Person. He used his own Magical Power to gradually soothe Chunyangzi’s chaotic qi channels.
Chunyangzi’s ashen complexion finally improved a little.
Seeing this, Han Yuan also felt relieved.
But they never expected that Chunyangzi would remain unconscious for a very long time.
Since they were inside the Void Palace, Han Yuan and the others lost track of time.
After what felt like ten days or so, Chunyangzi slowly began to stir.
"Master... how are you feeling now?"
Ding Zihu asked as soon as he noticed Chunyangzi was awake.
"I’m alright... I just expended too much of my Heart Spirit... My cultivation has fallen to the Seven Spirits Realm."
Chunyangzi said, shaking his head after assessing his internal condition.
"With your level of Cultivation, Master, I’m sure you’ll be back to the Spiritual Realm in no time."
Ding Zihu said, trying to comfort him.
"Let fate decide... At least we’ve resolved the matter of the Source Seed Shredded Meat."
Chunyangzi didn’t seem to mind at all.
Even Han Yuan found himself admiring this level of philosophical acceptance.
After recovering for a few more days, Chunyangzi finally regained some mobility.
He led Han Yuan and the others back to the Alchemy Furnace.
"Once I reinforce these arrays a little more, we can leave."
Chunyangzi said softly.
"Master, let me help you."
"As long as you give me some direction, I can handle the manual labor."
Ding Zihu offered.
Chunyangzi’s Heart Spirit was already in a terrible state. If he exhausted himself further, he might not be able to endure it.
"Mm, then I’ll leave it to you."
Chunyangzi nodded.
And so, Ding Zihu became something of a gofer, constantly working to reinforce the sealing Grand Array formed by the gray-white stone pillars under Chunyangzi’s direction.
Han Yuan, Liao Feng, and the Orange Cat could only watch from the sidelines, unable to help.
More than ten days passed in this manner, until the array was finally reinforced.
Chunyangzi was finally about to leave the place he had painstakingly guarded for over a hundred years.
But before he left, he made a trip to the Reincarnation Hall.
"Seniors... I have used the Divine Flame Array to refine the Source Seed Shredded Meat for five days and five nights."
"For safety’s sake, I did not open the Alchemy Furnace to confirm if the Source Seed Shredded Meat was completely refined."
"But rest assured, Seniors. I will find a place to live nearby and return every six months to check on the situation. That way, even if the Source Seed Shredded Meat wasn’t completely refined, I can suppress it once more."
After saying this, Chunyangzi bowed deeply to the nameless memorial tablets in the Reincarnation Hall.
It wasn’t just him; Han Yuan, Ding Zihu, and Liao Feng did the same.
Although they had never met these seniors and didn’t even know their names.
But in the end, these people had sacrificed themselves for the sake of this world.
After paying their respects, Chunyangzi finally led Han Yuan and the others away.
With him leading the way, their exit was exceptionally smooth.
When Han Yuan stepped out of the dark passage, the warm sunlight on his face gave him the surreal feeling that a lifetime had passed.
The one most moved by this was likely Chunyangzi.
He hadn’t seen the sun in over a hundred years.
Seeing the sun again, his old face bloomed into a wide smile.
Next, they scouted around Hive Mountain, found a valley near a water source, and built a few small wooden cabins.
Chunyangzi still couldn’t rest easy about the Alchemy Furnace, so he decided to live in seclusion here to keep watch and recuperate from his injuries.
Han Yuan had achieved his goal for entering Taicang Mountain, so he decided to stay and cultivate for a while as well.
As for Ding Zihu, it went without saying. He didn’t dare leave Taicang Mountain at all right now.
And so, the small group began their life of seclusion in the valley.
