Chapter 79: Final preparation II

Chapter 79: 79: Final preparation II

Almost two hours later, Silver finally returned home, tired and slightly cranky. The servant waiting at the entrance looked surprised by the number of storage cases he was carrying.

"...Young Master."

Silver smiled.

"I may have overpurchased."

The servant looked at the mountain of equipment.

"...May have?"

He watched as Silver disappeared down the hallway and shook his head.

’Rich people’

Inside his room, Silver carefully unpacked everything.

Weapons lined one wall, medical supplies another, travel equipment occupied the desk, and maps spread across the bed.

For nearly an hour he organized every item. Military habits from Earth returned naturally. Every magazine was counted, every blade inspected and every medicine labeled. Everything had a place, he didn’t want any last-minute confusion.

Only after finishing did he finally sit down, with a slight headache.

"...System."

[System Active.]

"Open Shop."

Immediately dozens of items appeared. Silver’s eyes widened.

"...That’s a lot."

Categories expanded far more than he was used to.

[BEGINNER SHOP.]

Available Categories:

• Healing.

• Ammunition.

• Basic techniques.

• Nutritional recovery.

• Soul Stabilization.

• Household Goods.

• Cooking Ingredients.

• Construction Materials.

• Clothing.

• Furniture.

"...You sell furniture?"

[Affection Shop exists to improve both the Host’s survival and the Target’s quality of life.

Available inventory adjusts according to Host progress.]

Silver ignored the furniture. He selected, weapons. He wanted to see if he could find something better than the ones he had bought.

Instantly the prices appeared. He nearly fell out of his chair.

[Void Edge]

Legend Grade

Price: 4,800,000 Affection Points

Description:

{• A sword forged from stabilized spatial fractures.

• Can sever dimensional barriers.}

Silver slowly closed it. He had never felt so poor in his life until now.

"...No."

Next.

[Starbreaker Spear]

Price: 2,100,000 AP

"No."

[Dragonbone Greatsword]

Price: 1,600,000 AP

"... Absolutely not."

Even the cheaper pages looked absurd. One sword capable of easily killing Tier Seven beasts costs nearly three hundred thousand affection points.

Silver finally understood. The system wasn’t stingy. The equipment genuinely possessed terrifying value.

Eventually, he found something more realistic that he could at least look forward to at the moment.

[Beast Hunter Sword]

Rare Grade

Price: 8,500 AP

{Effective against Tier Five beasts.}

Silver nodded.

"That makes more sense."

It was still expensive but at least achievable. He finished his window shopping in the weapon section and continued scrolling to the next.

Medicine appeared next.

• Poisons.

• Antidotes.

• Emergency soul stabilizers.

• Bone regeneration injections.

• Space affinity suppressants.

• Elemental resistance pills.

The list seemed endless. At least he could afford some of the things in the section.

[200 AFFECTION POINTS DEDUCTED]

[773 remaining Affection points]

Silver purchased several universal antidotes, enough for both himself and Ravenna. He wasn’t taking chances.

Poisonous beasts became increasingly common outside Sanctuary borders.

When everything was finished, he finally unfolded the newly purchased direction module. The holographic map projected across the room.

Silver had never seen one before, but this was something else entirely. Despite the catastrophically the world had developed to match the danger.

Its holographic projection was beautiful, crisp, and detailed. He marked Delta-3 then the Academy.

Between them stretched an enormous wilderness, three known sanctuaries, several Sanctuary checkpoints, known migration paths, danger zones, ruined cities, old highways, collapsed tunnels, and contractor supply stations.

Silver slowly planned possible routes. He marked main roads, alternative roads, emergency detours, potential resting locations, water sources, fuel stations, and everything that would make their journey smoother.

Military planning wasn’t glamorous, it was tedious but it saved lives. Nearly two hours passed before he finally leaned back, satisfied.

The route wasn’t perfect, no route ever was, but it gave them options that kept people alive.

He glanced around his room one last time. Everything stood neatly packed, just waiting for a new Chapter of his life to begin.

.

.

.

The alarm never had a chance to ring. Silver’s eyes opened on their own. Darkness still filled the room.

For several seconds he remained perfectly still, staring at the ceiling while his mind slowly transitioned from sleep to wakefulness.

A deep, comfortable silence filled the room. Even the estate, usually bustling before sunrise, still slept.

He turned his head toward the digital clock beside his bed.

04:12.

Almost two hours before dawn.

"...Right."

He slowly sat up, rubbing a hand over his face.

There was no excitement or nervousness; instead, there was an odd sense of calm.

This was how he felt before long deployments, operations, or stepping into places where nobody could promise you’d come back alive. Old habits from Earth resurfaced without effort. Even if this world were different... the feeling was exactly the same.

He stood, made his bed, folded his blanket neatly then changed into light training clothes.

He glanced toward the packed storage cases lining the wall. Everything was ready, there would be time to load the vehicle after training.

Right now...Routine came first.

He walked to his private gym. Even at this hour, only a few lights illuminated the massive room. Silver stepped inside.

A cool breath escaped him.

"...Let’s begin."

Stretching.

Joint mobility.

Light jogging.

His muscles gradually warmed. Only then did he move toward the weights.

The integration of the Strength-type beast had changed him noticeably. Several weights that had once demanded effort now felt merely heavy.

It still wasn’t easy, just... Manageable.

He smiled faintly.

"Progress."

The workout intensified.

Squats.

Deadlifts.

Presses.

Pull-ups.

Everything performed with deliberate, controlled movements. Sweat soon soaked his shirt, yet his breathing remained steady.

Now and then, the system notifications quietly appeared.

[Primal Strength Lv1]

Passive Adaptation Progress...

25%

[Iron Bones Lv1]

• Bone density improves through resistance training.

• Minor Progress Recorded.

Silver wiped sweat from his forehead. He appreciated how understated the system remained. It simply recorded facts, exactly as he preferred.

Nearly an hour passed before he finally stopped. His muscles burned pleasantly and his body felt awake.

He showered quickly and changed into clean travel clothes; light combat trousers, reinforced boots, and a long dark coat.

His sword resting comfortably at his left hip, firearm holstered beneath the coat, combat knife secured behind his waist and several spare magazines disappeared into hidden pockets.

Finally... He looked in the mirror.

"...Good enough."
