Chapter 885: Chapter 102: The Round Table Conference’s Unprecedented Convenience
Shalu Island, Simmons has been quite idle recently. He spent the morning training in the rubber grove with two young attendants, and incidentally collected some latex from the rubber trees. He quite enjoys the process of scooping latex out of the bucket, unexpectedly relieving stress.
As mealtime approached, Simmons came to the seaside just in time for the low tide today. Large areas of reef were exposed, and he enthusiastically pried open oysters. During this time, thanks to these nourishing items, he has managed to uphold the dignity of his Dragon Knight role.
After prying enough oysters, he dug up a few unknown large clams on the beach. These things taste great even when eaten raw. Having quenched his urge to beach comb, he sat under the shade enjoying the sea breeze, dispelling the heat, before heading back with his attendants.
Returning to the small courtyard, the Dragon Mother was not home again. Only the hired servants were busy working. Since the people from the Song of Hell visited the island, the Dragon Mother has often been busy to the point of disappearing, only returning at night.
Simmons handed the bucket to the attendants, "Half steam, half grill, and let the kitchen make some meat rolls."
After giving instructions, Simmons returned to the bedroom in the main building. He went next door to the bathing room for a simple wash, donned a silk robe, and lay down on the grand chair on the balcony. The chair swayed gently, his mind was full of thoughts, pondering the latest situation in the Shadowy Sea Area.
No matter how relaxed he might be, he couldn’t stay here forever. Simmons rubbed his brow, not knowing how Lancer and the others were doing. According to the Dragon Mother’s intelligence, they were all still alive.
"Sigh!"
Simmons sighed lightly, the sea breeze hitting his face, as the image of the Dragon Mother’s face flashed in his mind.
He admitted he was lustful, not ambitious, lacking self-control, and past events seemed no longer to be obstacles, perhaps even more exciting. The Dragon Mother’s true appearance hit right on his aesthetic point, especially those legs were outrageously appealing... More than just the affairs, the advantages of being a Dragon Knight were evident. He was nearing the state of Three Lives Perfection, with none of the previous bottleneck feelings in cultivation; any daytime stagnation in practice, and spending a night with the Dragon Mother would result in a smooth and unobstructed path...
However... Simmons sighed again. Being with the Dragon Mother was a personal affair, but he bore family responsibilities and the King’s orders to come to the Shadowy Sea Area. His identity was not only Simmons the Dragon Knight but also the heir of the George Family, future Duke Zijin, the King’s personally appointed Sea Conquest Knight, Vice Governor of the Mongcalleta Fleet!
Each identity wasn’t just a personal matter; behind it were countless eyes watching or relying on him. Sometimes, he thought about being an ordinary person.
But if that were true, the Dragon Mother might not even be interested in him.
Simmons rubbed his temple again. He had arrangements for the fleet when he left, but being away for too long would not work. If problems occurred, what would happen to the family? This Mongcalleta maneuver of returning to the Golden Sea was a prime opportunity for the George Family to rebuild its glory.
And what about his brothers? If Lancer and the others returned while he remained missing, according to Mongcalleta’s military regulations, a missing commander whose life or death was unknown would result in the Personal Knight being punished for dereliction, at minimum demoted to a criminal, at worst executed.
Simmons continued to rub his brow. He read the bird reports Dragon Mother brought daily, though they didn’t directly report, he analyzed some clues especially some commercial movements on Five Claw Island. His disappearance hadn’t caused a stir yet, wonder why, could it be he was not important?
Holman should still be heading towards the Mosel Kingdom according to the plan, unless the King gave an order, his death would be an unexpected joy for him.
Most of the time, Simmons just wanted to be a young master, not wanting to think.
By dinner, the Dragon Mother indeed hadn’t returned, Simmons knew it was likely the Song of Hell people visited the island again, moreover, the creator probably dispatched singers who carried out his orders to the Shadowy Sea Area.
As for the Dragon Mother, Simmons could only hope she’d successfully transform into a dragon, with the Ancient Dragon Bloodline, escaping the shackles of the Song of Hell to gain freedom. Thinking and thinking, by the time the Dragon Mother hadn’t returned, Simmons had already drifted off to sleep.
In the middle of the night, Simmons suddenly woke up, having drunk too much soup at dinner; he went to the bathroom, and when he returned, he stopped at the study door, hearing a faint breathing sound inside— it was the Dragon Mother.
Simmons instinctively pushed open the door, saw the Dragon Mother sitting cross-legged at the desk, and at the moment Simmons pushed the door, she waved her hand over the desk, making a shiny object disappear.
Simmons blinked, looking at the Dragon Mother with surprise: "Why didn’t you wake me when you returned?"
The Dragon Mother looked at Simmons, with soft big eyes like a big puppy, and her heart fluttered, pulling him into her arms, smiling coquettishly, meaningfully saying, "I need to give you some recovery time. What? Have you rested enough now?"
Simmons blushed suddenly, of course, he had to immediately counterattack...
From the desk to the corridor, then into the bathhouse where he washed twice, why wash twice? Simmons stated he hadn’t wasted the oyster feast he ate at noon, tossing about till late at night, completely drained, he finally drifted into a dizzy sleep.
Groggily, before dawn, Simmons felt the Dragon Mother had gotten up early again. He thought to himself, indeed only exhausted cattle... must sleep in deeply, arms and legs spread wide in blissful sleep.
Sleeping until noon, Simmons finally awoke, but the Dragon Mother was not in sight again; he lay in bed, turned over, his eyes gradually clearing, recalling yesterday night’s fleeting glimpse in the study.
That flick of the Dragon Mother’s hand gathering something not meant for him to see... shiny, could it be the Wish Crystal?
Could be not, considering the Song of Hell evidently schemed for the Wish Book, how could they place the Wish Crystal in the Dragon Mother’s hands? Simmons instinctively denied this thought in his mind.
Simmons’s finger tapped rhythmically on his temple, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and his consciousness dipped into the Divine Relic within his body, steadfastly sensing the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc, as the Divine Relic jolted, pulling his consciousness away.
Opening his eyes, Simmons’s consciousness already sat at the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc’s seat, he looked up at the dome’s twelve zodiacs, pondering for a moment before his gaze fixed upon Aries’s stars.
Simmons resolved it was time to leave, partly due to his duty, partly due to his identity; over time, the fleet would inevitably seek his whereabouts, complicating matters further. Never underestimate Mongcalleta’s capabilities, finding their way to the Dragon Mother was something he dreaded; in his view, though Dragon Mother was a singer, it was merely a relationship of mutual use, yet in others’— in Mongcalleta, she was indistinct from other singers.
Simmons’s consciousness lightly touched the Aries constellation’s stars.
Knock knock!
Soon, a glow emerged from Aries’s seat, revealing Miss Aries’s blurred figure.
"Mr. Libra," Miss Aries’s voice carried a hint of amusement as she looked at Simmons’s figure.
"Miss Aries, sorry to bother you. Are you currently in Hedan? I’d like to ask for your assistance in contacting Prince Achilles." Simmons straightforwardly said.
Miss Aries nodded, "Mr. Libra, I am indeed in Hedan. Is there something important in seeking Prince Achilles?"
"Related to the Expedition Fleet, I hope the fleet can come to Shalu Island to retrieve someone. Currently, only Prince Achilles has direct command over the fleet." Simmons intended to return to the fleet; through Achilles was his most minimized impact approach.
Miss Aries thought for a moment, and said, "I can try using the Messenger for communication, though solely relying on the Messenger, Prince Achilles may not perceive it as significant."
She could intervene but shouldn’t expose the Round Table Conference.
"I have agreed upon signals, sea maps, routes, and times..."
Simmons elaborated in detail, Estella’s memory was excellent, with Messengers she could figure something out, and ensure Second Brother wouldn’t ask questions. Mr. Libra was in trouble, certain to help, between them the identities akin to a layer of window paper waiting to be pierced.
