’This guy is ruthless,’ Nie Yun thought, snorting inwardly as he watched Qii Tao’s actions without interfering. Longxi had hired him as a helper, yet he’d just killed his own employer. ’Truly ruthless.’

Qii Tao jumped when the young man looked over. With an awkward expression, he took the Purple Splendor Jade Seal from his pocket. "This Jade Seal should be yours..."

"No need. You keep it."

Nie Yun observed him closely. ’This Qii Tao seems to know this place very well. His every move appears to have a hidden motive. He must have had his own reasons for snatching this Jade Seal.’ Nie Yun decided not to expose him for now. He would wait and see what the man was plotting.

His sword split the oil lamp in two. The splattering oil transformed into Flame Giants in mid-air.

Having destroyed the oil lamp, Nie Yun slashed at the Big Bell. With a loud BOOM, it shattered into countless fragments that clattered to the floor.

Once the oil lamp and the Big Bell were shattered, the red gas in the air vanished completely as expected. Nie Yun took a step forward. The strange fragrance was gone; the Life and Death Illusion Gas had likely dissipated.

"Let’s keep moving."

They crossed the stone chamber in a few strides, and Nie Yun, Qii Tao, and the Qi Emperor continued on their way.

The rest of the path held few dangers. Even when they encountered threats, Nie Yun’s Celestial Eye revealed every detail, allowing them to proceed without issue. The trio found many treasures along the way—piles of Elixirs and weapons. However, since the other two lacked a Storage Dantian, Nie Yun ended up collecting most of the good stuff.

Some of the items were particularly valuable, such as an Absolute-Grade Elixir capable of raising a person’s strength to the level of those on the Secret Realm Potential List, and a supreme treasure that could calm one’s mind and dispel a Heart Demon. Nie Yun planned to give these to his father and the others, as they were no longer of use to him.

The combined value of all the Elixirs and treasures was far greater than what they would have found on the left path.

After walking for a good half a day, the three arrived in a spacious hall. The hall was empty, save for a small altar.

’All roads lead to Rome, huh? To think the right path would lead here too.’

Nie Yun recognized it with a single glance.

This hall and its altar were the very first things he had seen upon emerging in his past life. Back then, he hadn’t possessed the other six Jade Seals, so he had assumed his exploration of the Zihua Cave Mansion was complete. He’d then used the Teleportation Array on the altar to leave.

In his previous life, without the Celestial Eye Talent, the journey had been fraught with peril, a constant brush with death. This time, with his formidable strength and special talent, the path hadn’t felt nearly as dangerous. The two experiences were simply incomparable.

"Brother, you’re here!"

Just as he was lost in these reflections, he heard a joyful laugh. A figure emerged from another doorway—it was his younger brother, Nie Tong.

"Brother, you told me to kill Huangg Ling and his men, but I never succeeded. I was too focused on increasing my strength and didn’t get around to it, so... I’m sorry, Brother. Please, blame me."

Nie Tong scratched his head, looking sheepish.

Before they entered the passage, Nie Yun had told his brother to kill Huangg Ling if the opportunity arose. ’It’s no big deal that he failed, though. "Great! I knew you’d be able to kill them anyway, Brother!" Nie Tong grinned.

As the two were conversing via Sound Transmission, two more figures emerged from the same doorway: Huangg Ling and Moh Wudao. Both of them had bloodshot eyes and looked utterly wretched. Their clothes were tattered and stained with blood. If you didn’t know who they were, you would have mistaken them for a pair of beggars.

"Nie Yun! To think we treated you as one of our own this entire journey, and you sent someone to kill us?"

The moment they stepped through the doorway and saw Nie Yun, the color drained from their faces. They were quick-witted, however, and immediately bellowed the accusation.

Ignoring their shouts, Nie Yun glanced at his brother in confusion. "Didn’t you say you didn’t kill them?"

"I said I failed to kill them. But they did get injured!" Nie Tong said with a wink.

Nie Yun smiled and shook his head, seeing that his brother was joking with him.

’Looks like those two escaped too quickly. Nie Tong didn’t kill them, but he managed to injure them. Now that they’ve run right into me, they’re afraid I’ll attack too, so they’re playing the victim. They’re hoping I’ll be concerned about my reputation and hold back.’

"You think I tried to kill you?" Nie Yun snorted. "Heh. If I had made a move, you’d have been dead long ago. You wouldn’t still be alive now."

"Let’s not waste any more time," Qii Tao cut in. "We need to find a way into the Inner Hall, quickly! Otherwise, we’ll be trapped here, unable to advance or retreat!"

"Hmph. Then hurry up and figure out how to get into the Inner Hall!" Nie Yun knew nothing about the Inner Hall, not even how to enter it. Since Qii Tao had brought it up, he said no more.
