I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property
Chapter 2279: Two Social Organizations Clash
Zhang Menglong’s foot lightly tapped on the lake surface, producing only a ripple, before he arrived at the small island in the heart of the lake.
The island was enveloped by a gentle force; Qin Tong’s teacher was undoubtedly a Dominator Peak powerhouse, and his strength was surely a hundred times greater than the usual concept of Dominator Peak!
Zhang Menglong walked to the door, which instantly opened of its own accord, and a teacup filled with tea floated lightly in front of Zhang Menglong.
“Friend from afar, have a cup of tea first!”
“Stop pretending!” Zhang Menglong rolled his eyes, grabbed the cup, and casually dumped the tea on the side, then took out a bottle of Wang Zai milk to pour into the cup, “Sorry, I’m more accustomed to drinking what I bring myself!”
Inside the room, the old man’s face twitched involuntarily; it was the first time he’d seen such an audacious young man, so composed even on his own turf. Although he bore no ill will, most would choose to drink the tea in such circumstances.
“Hahaha, you’re really such an interesting young man, no wonder you can come up with ways to remind others.”
“It’s useless,” Zhang Menglong said, “Most people still treat me like a fool and curse at me? Only when disaster strikes do they start believing what I say. Isn’t that foolish?”
Zhang Menglong walked into the house, where there was an elder who seemed to have an ethereal aura, instantly making Zhang Menglong associate him with Zhang Sanfeng.
He was drinking tea with a magazine-like object in his hand, looking very engrossed.
Zhang Menglong glanced casually, and his forehead was instantly covered in black lines. The magazine in the deputy dean’s hand was actually a pictorial of beautiful women, and they were even dressed very coolly!
Zhang Menglong was speechless; how come those people with mighty titles always have strange hobbies, just like that old pervert Master Roshi in Dragon Ball, who, as a Grandmaster of Martial Dao, no one in the world is more of a lecher than him.
“The dean’s taste is quite unique!” Zhang Menglong said.
“Cough, cough, cough!” The old dean was apparently too engrossed, as usually, his students knew about this quirk of his, and there would be no one else here, he’d gotten used to it, forgetting there might be guests today.
“You know, an old man needs some hobbies to pass the time, otherwise life would be so boring!” The deputy dean put down the electronic magazine and invited Zhang Menglong to sit down.
“I wonder, what is the dean inviting me here for today?” Zhang Menglong asked.
“Naturally it’s about the ancient humans,” the old dean’s expression turned serious, “I wonder how much you know about them, young brother?”
“Old dean, that’s a tough question to answer,” Zhang Menglong said, “I can only say that I’ve had contact with a considerable number of ancient humans, and even ancient gods!”
Upon hearing the words “ancient gods,” Zhang Menglong noticed that the old dean’s spiritual power exhibited some unusual fluctuations. Few had heard of ancient humans, and even fewer knew about ancient gods.
“You’ve really encountered ancient gods?”
Zhang Menglong almost wanted to say that the power of the ancient god had already become part of him, but he absolutely couldn’t say that; apart from Gou Dan, this was just about his biggest secret.
“Ancient gods are the original life of this world, born simultaneously with the continent, they’re the ancestors of all life,” Zhang Menglong said, “And ancient humans were the first batch of life they created using their own power and bodies as templates. They once erupted into a war, where all the ancient humans and gods virtually perished and disappeared together in that era. We humans now are creations of ancient gods at their demise.”
The old dean’s eyes sparkled with wisdom, it was easy to discern from Zhang Menglong’s narrative that he had truly encountered ancient gods, revealing some information even the old dean hadn’t grasped.
“I saw ancient gods engaged in fierce combat with a soul shard of an ancient human. Because it was too weak, they both perished together. That was when I learned about the ancient gods and humans.” Zhang Menglong recounted his encounter under the Blood Pond but selectively omitted some key information.
“You must have seen the strength of ancient humans; as far as I know, there were more than 100,000 ancient humans left who hadn’t completely perished, with their soul shards remaining. Once they regain their power, they might cause disruptive damage to our world now.”
“Actually, over the years, our war with ancient humans has already started!” The old dean’s words were completely unexpected to Zhang Menglong, yet it seemed to make sense.
“Look at this!”
The old dean waved his hand, and an image was projected around them, an aerial view of a city, but it lacked one thing compared to a normal city.
Liveliness! Yes, it lacked liveliness!
As the picture changed, a figure resembling an ice sculpture appeared.
Zhang Menglong’s pupils instantly enlarged, “That’s…”
“It seems you’ve seen it,” the dean said, “The remnants left after an ancient human attacks a human’s soul, this entire city of 2.5 billion people was slaughtered by an ancient human, their souls consumed, leaving only these corpse leftovers.”
“Who would’ve thought that Supreme Crystal, which is such a tempting thing, is actually secreted by ancient humans after attacking human souls.” Zhang Menglong sighed as he shook his head, “Has this happened many times?”
“So far, 102 cities have been attacked like this. For the whole world, this number is too small to attract attention. Initially, everyone’s focus was on those Soul Crystals, and no one investigated who the culprit was.”
“About 50 years ago, a mysterious organization appeared on the continent. Their numbers are few, but each faction is strong. I once fought one of them, matched in strength!”
“This organization isn’t created by ancient humans, is it?”
“It was created by them,” the old dean said, “Before we discovered them, some ancient humans had already awakened and regained some of their power through various means. Because the time was short, the damage was very limited, not attracting attention. We only started to know their true identities in the last decade or so.”
“Now, they’re not obsessed with regaining power, but focus largely on finding their kind, and they’ve even recruited a number of anti-humans to join them.”
The old dean spoke gravely, “So far, nearly 100 ancient humans have awakened, and some among them have regained considerable power. We’ve attempted to thwart several ancient humans’ revivals, but almost half ended in failure.”
“You?” Zhang Menglong picked up on the fact that they seemed to have an organization dedicated to opposing ancient humans.
The old dean stood up at this point too, “Young Zhang, I hereby formally invite you to join our Guardian organization.”
“My goodness,” Zhang Menglong muttered to himself, “This is a showdown between two social organizations!”
