Raiden looked at the Black Dragon, who had just crushed Maple in his jaws, while the Green Dragon lay bleeding on the floor, as he stared directly at Raiden with a gaze filled with malice.

"Yes!! Do it!! I’m willing to pay any price to kill that bastard." Raiden’s eyes were filled with pure hatred as he stared at the Black Dragon. He had just seen it end Maple’s life, and he could do nothing about it.

BA-THUMP.

A loud sound echoed throughout the war zone, as if it were ringing next to their ears.

BA-THUMP.

Everyone stopped fighting for a second to guess the location of the sound.

BA-THUMP.

The sound grew louder and louder with every passing beat as the ground itself started to shake along with it.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP.

Raiden felt his heart beat getting synchronised with this heavy sound beating in tandem.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP.

The Black Dragon felt a serious sense of crisis for the first time in his life as he heard that heartbeat ring again and again.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP!!

The heartbeat grew even louder as the skies started to darken, the earth started to quake, and an oppressive mood fell over the complete battlefield.

By now, every single fight except one had been paused as they all felt the oppression over their souls.

The pressure itself felt overwhelming and utterly dominating, as if it were not from this world.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP!!!

This oppressive pressure forced everybody below diamond to bow their head and fall on their knees.

Countless Terra Beasts roared in defiance, but they were unable to resist the pressure as they all started to bend their knees, willingly or forcefully.

One, by one, every single Terra Beast went on knees for miles as if they were waiting for a supreme deity.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP!!!

The platinum-tier Black Dragon roared in defiance, unwilling to bend knees as blood started flowing from his gums. It was forced to spit out a small green cocoon with a sleeping girl inside of it as the universal pressure became even greater, falling directly onto his soul.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP!!!

The sky darkened completely as the winds picked up speed, giving rise to a massive thunderstorm overhead.

Rumble, Rumble.

The cloud started to flash with unique electricity in the colours of dark red and purple, causing everyone to look up to it in awe.

BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP. BA-THUMP.

The heartbeat grew vigorous, beating strongly as rain clouds covered the battlefield, bringing down the wrath upon the fighters, while the strong winds blew away everything in miles, leaving behind nothing but the fighters and the Terra Beasts. The thunderstorm grew even wilder, pressing upon everyone’s head as they waited for their new king.

BA-THUMP.BA-THUMP.

The heartbeat started to slow down, finally giving everyone a chance to locate its source, as all eyes gathered on the originator.

BA-THUMP.

Raiden felt the resonance with the heartbeat as the frequency fell completely into sync with his. He burst into a wild, unstrained laughter as every single eye gathered on him.

"Whether you guys are ready or not, here comes the True Emperor!!!"

BOOM!!!

The moment Raiden’s words fell, the ground beneath Woolie’s body exploded.

A pillar of thunder more than a hundred meters wide crashed down from the heavens like divine punishment, smashing into the battlefield with enough force to make the entire war zone jump.

For an instant, the world turned white and purple. The sound that followed came half a breath later, so loud and violent that countless people lost all hearing on the spot and could only stare blankly as the earth around Woolie caved in and split apart.

The Black Dragon was the first to react.

Or rather, it tried to.

The instant the thunder pillar descended, its entire body locked in place. Not because something had physically grabbed it, but because every instinct inside it was screaming the same thing.

Do not move. Do not approach. Do not challenge. The malice in its eyes was still there, the hatred was still there, but underneath both of them, something uglier had begun to spread.

Fear.

The pillar of thunder did not stop after striking the earth. It remained there, connecting sky and land like a heavenly bridge of destruction. Countless arcs of dark red and deep violet lightning coiled around it like furious dragons, tearing through the clouds and lashing outward in all directions.

Every time one of those arcs struck the battlefield, another crater would explode into existence. Bronze and Silver Terra Beasts died without even understanding what had happened. Even the tougher Gold-tier creatures screamed in agony and threw themselves away from the area, their flesh smoking from just the aftermath.

Inside the centre of that violent storm, Woolie’s body slowly began to rise.

At first, it was only a few inches off the ground. Then a few feet. Then higher and higher still, until his body was suspended in the middle of the thunder pillar as if the storm itself had acknowledged him as its master.

The blood on his wool was burned away first. Then the dirt. Then the battered flesh that had been pushed to the brink moments ago. What remained behind was not healing in the ordinary sense. It was reconstruction.

Raiden watched with wide eyes as Woolie’s entire body started changing before him.

The wool that had once been soft and fluffy began shrinking, compressing, and tightening over his body like living armour. The usual grey faded away into a darker pitch black, with streaks of violent violet crawling through it like rivers of lightning frozen inside his coat.

His limbs lengthened and grew more muscular, no longer carrying the harmless cuteness of a farm sheep but the compact, terrifying strength of something born to trample the heavens beneath its feet.

His little horns started growing rapidly, curving backwards and upward as countless crackling patterns spread across them. They no longer looked cute.

And it was just the beginning.
