Chapter 188: Pay The Price Of Challenging The Emperor!!
The moment those three Diamond-Tier Terra Beasts closed in on Woolie from three different directions, the air itself suddenly burst into flames.
A gigantic phoenix wing, covered in golden-red fire, swept down from above and crashed against the first attack head-on.
The impact exploded across the battlefield in a storm of fire and shockwaves, throwing all three beasts backwards at once.
Woolie was also pushed back several metres, but unlike them, he landed on his feet. Raiden, who had already gone half-mad from stress, looked up with wide eyes and nearly wanted to cry on the spot.
High above the battlefield, Isadora stood on top of Phoenix’s back like a queen descending to pass judgment. Her long crimson hair danced wildly in the burning winds around her, while Phoenix spread its huge blazing wings and stared down at the three Diamond beasts with a cruel light in its eyes.
The very temperature of the battlefield started rising around them, and even the weakened Terra Beasts still kneeling nearby crawled backwards in fear.
"Who Dares Bully My Son-in-Law?!" Isadora’s cold voice rang over the battlefield, echoing in everyone’s ears as they looked at the battlefield commander in awe.
Raiden felt his throat tighten. Mother-in-law. No, future mother-in-law. No, terrifying life-saving goddess.
Right now, he did not care what title she wanted. She had come, and that alone made him want to kneel and thank every god in existence.
The three Diamond Beasts recovered quickly, but before they could attack again, the Phoenix moved first.
It opened its mouth and unleashed a river of golden flames so dense that it looked more like a burning tidal wave than normal fire.
One of the beasts, a scaled hound with bone-like spikes on its back, tried to rush through it and was immediately blasted sideways, its entire body wrapped in fire.
The second, a giant lizard covered in dark green armour, dug its claws into the ground and endured the flames head-on, only for Phoenix to descend like a meteor and smash it in the face with one claw.
BOOM!!!
The armoured lizard’s head was driven deep into the ground while fire spread through the cracks beneath it.
The third beast, a massive winged panther with silver fangs, leapt into the sky and tried to ambush Phoenix from above, but Isadora did not even blink.
"Phoenix. Burn it."
Phoenix let out a shrill cry and twisted in the air with impossible speed, its flaming tail smashing into the panther’s ribs and sending it tumbling through the clouds.
The beast had not even stabilised itself before dozens of burning feathers detached from Phoenix’s wings and shot upward like divine arrows, exploding one after another across its body.
The battlefield had barely processed her arrival when a second shadow fell over it.
At first, everyone thought it was another monster descending to fight against her.
Then something huge came spinning through the air and crashed in front of the three Diamond beasts with enough force to shake the field again as mud, blood, and broken stone flew in all directions.
When the dust finally cleared, a gigantic severed head lay there, torn apart by the neck and still dripping blood.
Raiden stared blankly for a second.
That was the three-headed dragon. Or rather, what remained of it.
A low rumble followed from behind, and then Yuna appeared, standing calmly atop her Terra Beast’s broad head as the huge beast advanced step by step through the ruined battlefield.
Every step shook the ground. His entire body was covered in scars and blood, but his eyes were still full of brutal life. The sight of the severed dragon head lying before them made the remaining Diamond beasts stiffen visibly.
Yuna looked at them, then at Woolie, then at the Black Dragon lying injured in the distance.
"We will hold these three," she said calmly. "Finish the Black Dragon. If he dies, the tide breaks."
Those simple words snapped everyone back into motion.
The armoured lizard roared first and charged towards Yuna in fury, but Godzirra answered with a roar of his own and met it head-on.
The two gigantic bodies slammed into each other with enough force to produce a shockwave that flattened everything nearby.
Before the lizard could recover, Godzilla’s tail whipped around like a steel mountain and smashed into its side, folding half its body and sending it skidding across the battlefield.
At the same time, the silver-fanged panther tried to rush around from the flank, aiming straight for Woolie, but Phoenix intercepted it in midair.
Fire and wind exploded together as the two beasts clashed, one trying to tear, the other trying to burn.
The spiked hound opened its jaws and launched a beam of dark energy toward Godzilla’s blind side, only for a wall of flames to descend and swallow the attack before it could land.
Phoenix rose again through the smoke like a blazing sun, and Isadora’s voice came down sharp and absolute.
"Did I permit you to interfere?"
The hound did not get to answer because Godzilla had already turned.
His mouth opened wide, blue light gathering deep in his throat. The moment that light appeared, every nearby beast panicked on instinct. Yuna’s expression did not change in the slightest.
"Fire."
The beam erupted.
A torrent of condensed destruction crossed the battlefield in an instant and smashed into the spiked hound, blasting it so hard that half its body disappeared into the ground.
The resulting explosion lit up half the war zone, and the remaining Terra Beasts could only watch in fear as the so-called protectors of the Black Dragon were being forced back by two women who looked like they had arrived solely to ruin their day.
Raiden did not waste the opening.
"Woolie!!" he shouted with all the strength left in his lungs. "Go! Kill that bastard before more freaks show up!!"
Woolie’s eyes flashed. He did not need to be told twice.
"WOOLIE!!"
His body exploded forward in a streak of crimson and violet thunder, cutting straight through the ruined battlefield toward the Black Dragon.
The dragon, who had just managed to drag itself halfway out of the crater, raised its head in panic and fury at the approaching blur. It tried to gather black flames in its mouth one last time, but Woolie was already there.
He slammed head-first into the dragon’s skull.
BOOM!!!
The Black Dragon’s huge body rolled across the battlefield like a broken mountain, smashing through earth and corpses alike.
Before it could even stop moving, Woolie was already above it. Thunder wrapped around his horns, his hooves, his entire body. The pressure around him grew heavier and heavier, and even the nearby humans felt their hearts shake.
"Woolie Woo!!" Challenging the Emperor again and again. You really do not learn!! Now Pay The Price Of Challenging The Emperor!!
He raised one hoof high into the air.
And brought it down on the Black Dragon’s head.
