Arthur, who had been about to kill all the Demigod monsters or at least seriously wound them was forced to stop when the lightning struck.

?Arthur felt there was something off, not because of the sheer power of the lightning nor because it had appeared out of nowhere, but because it felt awfully similar to the ’Lightning Tribulations’ he used to read about in those poorly translated Xianxia novels.

?Suddenly, Jeffy warned, "Don’t move."

?And Arthur chose to listen to him, because he had just received a similar message from his Patron God, [The Sleepless Sword].

?It was not just him; maybe it was their instincts, but the Demigod monsters also stood completely still like statues.

?Then Arthur, Jeffy, Night, Sara, and everyone else present saw a scene that they would never forget for the rest of their lives.

?The sky, the heavens, the Void above whatever it was called suddenly split in two as if someone had pulled a curtain apart.

?From the rift, a gaze fell upon them. This gaze was different from the gaze Night had felt when the System looked into him; this gaze felt more alive, more penetrating, and far more ominous.

?Everyone felt as if the space above had been turned into an eye by this unknown entity.

?The gaze moved and fell on the spot where Rango had been moments ago.

?The whole region had disappeared from the map, save for the very middle, where a small piece of land stood at the center of the attack completely unharmed.

?The land was covered in red fire.

?Two voices sounded out as if they recognized each other.

?"[Blaze]."

"[Lifeless]."

?The voices didn’t speak anymore, but from the silence, one could sense the annoyance both parties felt at the situation.

?After what felt like an eternity, the voice of [Lifeless] said, "Our Authority should not be undermined." Then the gaze and the split in the space above disappeared like a mirage.

?Right after that, [Blaze]’s sigh echoed across the sky, and the red fire disappeared as well.

?Rango, Vance, Argus, Victor, and the others looked at their surroundings. The terror they felt right now couldn’t even be put into words.

?Rango shivered when he understood that the gaze’s target had been him, and if he had to guess who it had been, it was not a difficult mystery to solve.

?A Primordial God....

?Rango panicked inwardly:

Fuck, fuck, fuckk!

How the fuck did I attract the attention of those beings?!

How shit is my luck?!

I even said I would dethrone them...

I am so dead...

?...

?In his hut, [Blaze] looked at the kids who had survived and shook his head.

?It was not that he had suddenly turned compassionate and decided to save the wolf named Rango and the others; it was because Night’s clone had been way too close to the attack. And since he was already making a move anyway, he chose to save the rest of them while he was at it.

?A one-kilometer distance was nothing to an attack fired by a Primordial God.

?If the attack had hit him, clone or not, Night would have fully died without even a hope of reincarnation.

?.....

?Far away in Bharat City, sitting on his chair, [Zethe-thoth] looked up at the scene above him plainly.

He muttered, "This must be one of the other Primordial Gods of this Cosmos... [Lifeless], is it?"

?He looked confused. "Why is he so.... weak?... Is the suppression really this strict in this Cosmos, or is there some other reason?"

?.....

?Nobody moved for some time, even after the gaze had completely disappeared.

?Even though everyone stood still, the city below had no such issues.

?The other three cities’ borders merged, completely uncaring of the Primordial Gods that had just graced them, as if they were just another blip in the endless span of time.

?A bigger blip than the mortals, sure, but still a blip.

?"I think I can move now..." said Night’s clone the one that had been poisoned by the Manticore.

?Sara placed her hand on his forehead to check and then nodded. "It’s all healed."

?As for why he had healed so fast, it was because Sara had never stopped healing him, even when the Primordial Gods arrived.

?It seemed that in her eyes, a kid’s life and well-being meant far more than the two uncrowned rulers of their Cosmos.

?Night mused, ’Well, everyone has something that they are willing to put above their own life. For some, it might be their work; for some, it might be their money; for some, their parents; for some, their children. And for Sara, it is just any child, even if they don’t belong to her...’

?’And for me, it’s my friends.’ He calmly accepted the fact with no doubts in his mind. At first, it had been just Lilith, Eve, and Death, and now there were nine more...

?Night stood in the air, leaning on Sara. He chuckled internally when he saw that the others still didn’t dare to move, as if any mistake on their part might summon the Primordial Gods right back.

?Night thought, ’[Lifeless] Primordial, huh? I’ll be sure to eat him when I am able to... The culprit was Rango, and yet that attack would have killed both me and my friends inside my Inner Universe had [Blaze] not interfered.’

?Night thought darkly, ’It would have been fine if the target had just been me, because it was my fault I stood close to Rango. But targeting my friends too? That’s enough to add him to the kill list, right below Alze-Beus, [Zethe-thoth], and Dr. Isaac.’

?The killing intent he released internally was so intense that the orange sun and silver moon in his Inner Universe turned blood red, showcasing just how dark his inner feelings were at the moment.

?Everyone connected to him felt it even [Blaze], who was on the other end of the Cosmos.

?Meanwhile, on the outside, Night kept a calm and gentle look on his face, as if nothing serious had happened at all.

?...

?[Blaze] chuckled when he felt the sudden surge of killing intent.

?[Blaze] sighed fondly. "He’s so like me..."

?It was so rare to rile up his Chosen that he had almost thought the boy had become a monk.

?He looked around the empty hut and felt a tinge of loneliness; his wife [Aqua] and [The Sleepless Sword] had gone undercover shopping to get some toys for Neola.

He suddenly felt like a lonely old man with nothing to do...

?...

?Arthur was the first to move, and slowly the others began moving as well, guessing the disaster had finally passed.

?Arthur looked down below. The Sea City, Hidden Dragon City, and Champion City were now fully visible.

?Jeffy said, "The merger is almost finished."

?The Demigod monsters looked down at the expanding city, and then, as if adrenaline had been injected straight into their veins, they started roaring.

?Arthur gripped his sword tighter. "It seems the fight is back on."

?...

?Outside the Dream City.

?Night’s clone teleported right next to Rango and pulled him up by his mane like it was a collar.

?Night roared, "Why are you so suicidal...?!"

?Rango gave an awkward chuckle. Because he had shrunk himself down earlier, he currently looked like a small dog snuggling with its owner.

?Vance came to his defense. "Night, how could he have known they had eyes here?"

?Night let go of Rango, knowing he was being silly by blaming him.

?How could the wolf have known Night was the Chosen of a Primordial God as well?

?Night said simply, "I am a Chosen."

?Rango immediately backed up a step. "Ohhh." He didn’t need any further explanation. The others instantly understood as well.

?Everyone stood silently, completely unwilling to discuss the matter any further.

?It seemed a brush with a Lightning Tribulation was more than enough to knock some wisdom into them.

?...

?Above the Dream City, a massacre began.

?Thousands of silver swords rained down on the monsters. Arthur attacked every monster he laid his eyes upon.

?Small silver swords filled with terrifying killing intent pierced right through the Demigod monsters. A lion-like Demigod fired a golden breath, but both the breath and the lion were cut down before the attack could even reach halfway to Arthur.

?The other monsters near it also died as the silver swords rained down on them.

?Demigod monsters died like flies.

?Arthur stood like a War God in the center. He never moved an inch, yet none of the monsters escaped his attacks.

?Jeffy didn’t stay idle either. He fought head-on, each strike claiming a life; he was like a wolf among a flock of sheep.

?Some of the Demigod monsters tried to flee, but Jeffy chased them relentlessly, always striking his mark as if his hammer had auto-aim locked onto them.

?Both Jeffy and Arthur completely dominated the battlefield.

?Sara and Night didn’t stay idle either. Each kill would give them a share of EXP, which would then be turned into EXP Crystals.

?Night asked Sara to attack with abandon, telling her he needed as many assists as possible. She didn’t ask for the reason and immediately did as she was told.

?Night used his flies to fire Death Rays at every monster in sight, and as the battle raged on, he would pick up some of the corpses and feed them to ’Mother Fly’ to create even more flies.

?He didn’t take all the corpses just a couple since most of the heavy work was being done by Jeffy and Arthur.

?Though he mainly focused on the corpses left behind by Jeffy, since he was a fellow member of the Conqueror Guild, and because all that was left of his targets was mostly meat paste.

?It was a pretty good indicator that Jeffy didn’t care about keeping the corpses.

?Night felt like Jeffy was a dream teammate for someone like him, whose whole arsenal revolved around gathering corpses.
