I Just Wanted Friends, But My Summons Keep Eating the Bosses (ND)
Chapter 186: Two Dragons.
Haruka suddenly burst out laughing, her body shaking as tears pooled in her eyes. "Haha, I always knew Jingyi was a predator, but this is too much... Haha, look at the kid, he is barely half your size... How much in the heat are you woman... I always knew Nightmare Aspects messed with our heads, but you seriously have lost your marbles!"
?Her laughter completely ruined the peaceful and homely atmosphere that nature had so painstakingly created.
?Her laughter died instantly when a knuckle-clad fist sucker-punched her right in the stomach.
?Phufffff!
?Haruka’s spit flew across the table as she was launched away like a baseball on its way to a home run.
?Haruka screamed, "Youuu... Bitc...!" She flew like Team Rocket had possessed her soul...
?Sara quickly cast a silence spell before Night could hear the rest of it.
?Sara scolded, "Don’t you guys have any manners? Can’t you two flirt away from the kid? Your hard-to-get act is way too sloppy."
?Jingyi huffed, her cheeks slightly red. She rolled her eyes and mumbled, "No one is playing hard to get. The girl had it coming since..."
Her voice was barely audible toward the end; she didn’t finish the rest of the sentence and decided to exercise her right to remain silent.
?Jingyi looked at Night, who was staring at them curiously. He really looked like an innocent kid who was completely unaware of how the world worked.
?Unfortunately, Night wasn’t thinking like that at all. Instead, he was thinking about how pointless the silence spell had been, since his Nightmare Domain let him hear everything anyway.
?In fact, he could even hear telepathic messages if he focused hard enough, let alone an open conversation.
?Through his Nightmare Domain, some distance away he could see Haruka gracing Jingyi’s ancestors with colorful words. She kept attaching the names of genitalia or taboo acts to them, as if doing so would somehow make her feel better.
?Night thought, ’Why does she care if Jingyi’s mother was a fucker or not? If she was not a fucker, how could you explain the existence of Jingyi? Surely she was not born from the Force like that Vader guy from Star Wars.’
?This was how Night pondered the mysteries of how babies are born...
?Something that confused Night was that while he understood her anger, he didn’t get how what she said would make her feel any better.
?Because every time she verbally abused an ancestor, her face would soften and her mood would keep on improving... It was really mysterious how human brains worked.
Since he had one too, he decided to keep it in mind.
?He nodded to himself.
?If Sara had known what kind of thoughts Night was having, and because of which, Haruka would have been murdered today.
?Luckily for her, Night pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind and wouldn’t bring them up until much, much later...
?Alas, that wouldn’t mean Haruka’s suffering would be any less when that time finally came.
?Sara then canceled the silence spell, completely forgetting that something like that wouldn’t work on Night anyway.
?Sara said, "Night, don’t pay attention to how these two aunties are acting. They have some issues with their heads."
?"I get it," Night exclaimed as he realized the issue. He looked at Jingyi, and Haruka, who had almost made it back, with pity.
?Night thought, ’They are sick, I see...’
?Jingyi grew uncomfortable under his pitiful gaze, though she didn’t refute it.
?Jingyi then thought of something and quickly changed her expression to a happy one. She partially jumped over the table and wrapped her arms around Night, pressing her cheek against his.
?Jingyi cooed, "So, tell Aunty how you met Granny Sara..."
?Sara’s eye twitched, her hand almost reaching for her magic tome.
?Night couldn’t understand why this woman was acting like this, so he chalked it up to her sickness and said, squirming awkwardly beside her, "You should ask Sara yourself..."
?He didn’t know how much he was supposed to tell them, so he simply passed the buck.
?Sara tried to pull Jingyi away from Night, but the woman’s hold was quite tight. Sara didn’t use much force, worried their tug-of-war might hurt Night, completely forgetting that it wouldn’t even scratch his skin.
?Haruka saw them and ran over, yelling, "Noooo...! Help, someone.... Child abuse...! The dragoness is abusing the child....!!!!"
?She jumped right onto the table, screaming her lungs out. Unfortunately, the only response she got was the slight rustle of leaves in the wind.
?Jingyi and Sara paused, looking up at Haruka with annoyed expressions.
?Sara snapped, "Shut up, why are you so loud...?"
?Jingyi mocked, "Even a soundproof room wouldn’t be enough for your wedding night..."
Sara immediately smacked Jingyi on the back of her head, while Haruka looked at them speechlessly.
?Sara stood up, successfully pulling Night away from Jingyi, and said, "You guys are too much. He is just seven years old..."
?Haruka chuckled and mimicked Jingyi’s voice, "So you wouldn’t mind if it’s after eleven years?"
?Finally Jingyi lost it. Fire and smoke started pouring out of her body as her eyes and hair caught fire, causing the surrounding temperature to spike.
?Haruka responded with a mocking smile not affected, resting her right hand on the hilt of her katana. Raindrops started gathering above the mountain as if a rain were about to pour down on them.
?Before Sara could stop them, Jingyi moved, reaching Haruka in an instant and throwing a punch.
The air exploded as she broke the sound barrier, her fist glowing like red-hot metal freshly pulled from a furnace. Her eyes burned like torches, the pupils within them turning into vertical slits with the same fiery glow as her hands.
?Boom!
?Haruka didn’t seem affected by the attack. The raindrops around her suddenly spun like throwing stars as her katana left its sheath, blocking the strike with ease.
?Unfortunately, the table she stood on, the cushions, and the teacups didn’t survive the impact. All of it crumble to dust and flew away with the wind.
?Night, who had been picked up by Sara at some point, watched the fight with interest. Both Haruka and Jingyi had become fully engrossed in their battle, entirely forgetting about the two of them.
?The shockwave of the clash blew their hair back and shook their robes, but otherwise, they were completely unharmed.
?The Nightmare Origin Tree near them merely swayed in the breeze.
?Jingyi didn’t appear disheartened that her attack had been blocked. Instead, her expression twisted into a maniacal grin, her teeth turning razor-sharp in a V-shape like a shark’s.
?She punched again, and Haruka defended once more, though this time she was pushed back.
?Haruka narrowed her eyes as they underwent a change of their own, her pupils turning into vertical slits, similar to Jingyi’s, except hers were glowing blue.
?This time, she swung her katana first, which Jingyi blocked head-on with her fists.
?Punch! Punch! Swing! Swing!
?Sparks! Sparks! Sparks!
They exchanged hundreds of moves in seconds.
?Their movements were so fast they became a blur. The clashing fire and rain, mixing into smoke and vapor, obscured the surroundings and gave the illusion that the battle was a mirage.
?They looked to be an equal match, which apparently annoyed them much more than either would care to admit.
?Suddenly, Jingyi roared, her voice carrying an inhuman echo as the phantom of a massive creature appeared behind her.
It was red in color with scales similar to Lucy’s, and had a serpentine body supported by twelve small legs. Its eyes were blood-red with vertical pupils just like Jingyi’s, and two golden horns branched from its head like antlers. Four red, bat-like wings sprouted from its back, the tips of each wing adorned with golden horns.
?Even though the phantom of the creature looked relatively small, covering only half the mountain, it exuded a royal air that made Zero’s queen-like aura pale in comparison. It had a primordial quality about it that strongly reminded him of Nuwa.
?And Nuwa was a Cosmic Beast, a white-scaled Ouroboros, something that should have been extinct in their Cosmos.
?Fortunately, Night didn’t have to stay clueless about this mystery for long, as someone immediately dispelled it for him.
?[Blaze] growled, "Eastern Fire Dragon, [The One Who Burns the Heavens]."
?[Blaze]’s incensed voice rang inside Night’s head. "I thought that bastard had died! What the fuck is it doing hiding inside a child, and a human child, of all things? I wonder where it got the balls to do such a thing when it’s in such a pitiful state."
?Night blinked. ’Huh?’ He hadn’t expected such a drastic reaction from [Blaze].
?[Blaze] urged, like he was asking him to bring justice to the world, "Night, quickly capture them and turn them into Totem Souls before they sense me through you and run away...!"
?’What?!!’ Night asked in shock.
?Just then, something happened that caused [Blaze] to practically squeak. A similar aura was slowly being released from Haruka, which was absurd considering what it meant: another Cosmic Beast.
?Standing in front of Jingyi, Haruka remained completely unfazed. "So you managed to awaken your bloodline...."
?Jingyi cracked her neck. "It’s about time I put you in your place."
?Haruka scoffed, "With what? That red snake acting like a dragon behind you?"
?A blue phantom of a creature started forming with each word Haruka spoke. This creature had blue scales, four legs with five claws on each foot, and two huge wings on its back. It was of similar size to the eastern dragon, it covered the other half of the mountain with its body.
On the head of this dragon were two horns, a smaller one in front and a huge one right behind it, both long and pointy, just like Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen in The Dictator would want them.
?[Blaze] said speechlessly, "Western Dragon, [The One Who Drowns the Hell]."
[Blaze] "Listen careful, you need to capture them both as soon as possible and as subtly as possible..."
Night asked "Didn’t she say it was something like a bloodline awakening?"
[Blaze] mocked "A Bloodline Awakening would never cause such a drastic reaction and create a Cosmic Beast phantom, the only way this can happen are if the actual cosmic beasts are inside them. Only the real thing can create something like this, its not easy for you to notice but to me, its all clear how things are..."
Night asked, "But if I take the Beasts won’t they be weaken? or even die? Aren’t they human girls i thought you would stop avoid something like this..."
[Blaze] explained with a sign "Leaving them be is much more worse, these Cosmic Beast are not small fries just because you friend acts like a pet snake doesn’t mean others of her kind are like that, and these two asshole have already begun influencing the human destiny, if we let them be in no time this will results in them using the human destiny and causing not just extinsion to humans in your planet, but also killing many across the Cosmos."
Night "Something like that can happen?"
[Blaze] "Yes and it has happened many times before and everytime it happens i find out about it too late, i feel like someone is helping them hide from me but this time something must have happened and their stealth failed dropping them straight in front of you, my Chosen."
Night, understood as things were he would have to kill Haruka and Jingyi now.
He felt it was sad, not because Humans would loose one of their two strongest fighters but because Sara would loose two of her friends...
Night resolved himself, "Ok I’ll kill them, I can’t let a race be wiped out on this planet because i was too gullible do what is needed"
[Blaze] said, "Good, and I know i must be hard and I’ll give you a gift as an apology after this is over"
Then [Blaze] added, "Night, even I am starting to envy your luck. Two of those bastards just delivered themselves to you on a diamond platter to be turned into Soul Totems."
