Chapter 686 They Built a Statue of Me, but They Got My Nose Completely Wrong
Chapter 686: Chapter 686 They Built a Statue of Me, but They Got My Nose Completely Wrong
One was like a flower in full bloom, youthful and radiant. The other was like the same flower after years of cultivation who was more mature, more graceful, and possessing an entirely different kind of allure.
Lin Feng couldn’t help but become curious. Why had these two women come together? Were they sisters? Sect companions? Or perhaps there was some other relationship between them?
More importantly, what kind of illness could possibly have brought two women of such extraordinary appearance all the way to his humble healing courtyard?
Despite his growing curiosity, Lin Feng’s expression remained perfectly calm. He did not use his divine sense to know the true relationship between them in order to keep the thrill of not knowing.
As a physician, he had seen countless strange situations, and there was no reason for him to lose his composure simply because his patients happened to be beautiful.
His eyes briefly examined the two women before returning to a professional expression. Whatever thoughts had flashed through his mind were quickly hidden.
"Now that you have removed your veils, tell me what is troubling you." His tone remained calm and composed. The two women exchanged another glance.
For some reason, neither seemed eager to speak first. Lin Feng noticed this immediately. It seemed that their story was going to be considerably more interesting than he had initially expected.
The beautiful mature woman standing behind her remained completely silent, allowing the younger woman to speak on her behalf.
The young woman hesitated for a moment before finally explaining her condition.
"It is like this, Senior Lin Feng. I possess considerable talent in cultivation, but whenever I attempt to cultivate, I experience an extreme amount of pain throughout my body. I have endured it for many years, and until now, I was able to force myself to continue." She lowered her eyes slightly.
"But recently, the pain has become much worse. It has reached a point where I can barely maintain my concentration. It is especially troublesome whenever I enter seclusion to cultivate. The longer I cultivate, the more intense the pain becomes." She paused before adding quietly,
"I fear that if this continues, it will eventually affect my cultivation foundation."
Lin Feng listened carefully. Interestingly, the woman had not introduced herself. Not even her name. That alone told Lin Feng that keeping her identity hidden was extremely important to her.
He didn’t question it.
At this point, Lin Feng’s reputation had already spread throughout the Azure Heaven Continent. As the renowned Medicine King, his name carried enormous weight.
There were very few people who would dare offend him, and even fewer who would willingly reveal their identities if they had deliberately come to him disguised.
If this young woman wished to conceal her identity, Lin Feng had no reason to force her to reveal it. A physician only needed to know the patient’s condition. Everything else was secondary.
"I understand," Lin Feng said calmly. He considered her symptoms for a moment before continuing.
"Your condition sounds unusual. Let’s discuss it somewhere more private. Follow me to my chambers."
The young woman nodded. The mature woman silently followed behind her.
Lin Feng led them deeper into his residence, away from the waiting patients and the curious gazes outside. Once they entered his private chambers, he closed the door behind them.
The atmosphere immediately became much quieter. Lin Feng gestured toward an open space.
"Cultivate here."
The young woman blinked.
"Right now?"
"Yes."
Lin Feng nodded.
"I need to personally observe your symptoms while they occur. Descriptions can only tell me so much. If I want to determine the root of your problem, I need to see what happens to your body when you cultivate."
The young woman understood. She walked to the center of the room and slowly sat down. Crossing her legs, she assumed the lotus position and closed her eyes.
A moment later, the spiritual essence within the room began flowing toward her. A faint radiance gradually enveloped her body.
The spiritual energy circulated through her meridians, and her cultivation aura steadily grew stronger. For several breaths, everything seemed perfectly normal.
Then Lin Feng noticed the subtle change in her expression. Her brows slowly knitted together. A thin layer of sweat appeared across her forehead. Her breathing became slightly heavier.
The pain had begun. Yet even while enduring it, the young woman desperately tried to maintain her cultivation technique. Lin Feng didn’t say anything. He simply watched.
His gaze was calm and focused, his divine sense quietly examining every change occurring within her body.
To an ordinary man, the sight of such a beautiful woman enduring pain might have been enough to distract him.
Her delicate features had become flushed from the strain, while beads of sweat glistened against her skin. Even her expression of discomfort somehow added a strange, fragile charm to her appearance.
She looked like a precious flower enduring a storm. But none of that mattered to Lin Feng. At this moment, she wasn’t a beautiful woman in his eyes. She was a patient.
His mind contained only one question... What was causing her pain?
Lin Feng’s medical knowledge and divine sense worked together as he carefully followed the flow of spiritual energy through her meridians.
He examined her dantian. Then her meridians. Then the circulation of spiritual essence throughout her body. His expression gradually became more serious. There was something wrong.
The problem wasn’t with her cultivation technique. Nor was it simply a matter of insufficient spiritual energy. The spiritual essence was encountering resistance at a particular point within her body.
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes. He carefully followed that resistance deeper and deeper. Finally, he discovered the source.
"So that’s it..." A faint smile appeared on Lin Feng’s face. He had found the root cause of her mysterious ailment.
"Did you discover something, Senior Lin Feng?" The mature woman finally spoke, her usually calm voice carrying a trace of concern.
Her eyes remained fixed on the young woman, who was still sitting in the lotus position and enduring the growing pain within her body.
