I Level Up By Making Enemies

Chapter 5 Got In Trouble

"Senior...Wait you’re not even my Senior. Anyways let’s go Lin Feng before the enforcers arrive." Lu cang said with trembling voice

"Now, little Lu why are you so jittery. I’m still hungry you know?"

The crowd in front of the Dining Pavilion was still in chaos when three disciples wearing silver Enforcement Hall tokens pushed their way through.

The leader of the Enforcement group was a tall young man. He took one look at the three Tiger Claw members still coughing on the ground, then at Lin Feng’s ridiculous vertical hair, and his eyebrow gave a visible twitch.

"Lin Feng, outer disciple. You are to come with us for questioning. Elder Mo has filed a formal complaint regarding your conduct during the morning lecture. In addition, multiple disciples have submitted reports about a public disturbance and the use of an unidentified foul technique."

Lu Cang made a small broken sound. Lin Feng turned to look at the Enforcement disciple with mild interest.

"Questioning? Alright. Lead the way."

The Enforcement disciple’s eye twitched harder.

"My name is Chen Yu. While you are under investigation, you will address me as Senior Brother Chen. Follow closely. Do not speak unless you are spoken to."

Lin Feng gave a lazy, incomplete salute and started walking. One of the other Enforcement disciples grabbed Lu Cang by the back of his collar when the smaller boy tried to quietly crawl away into the crowd.

"You are the only witness who know what happened from start. So you’re coming too."

The walk to the Enforcement Hall took them away from the noisy lower areas of the outer sect and up a cleaner stone path lined with tall, well maintained bamboo. The further they went, the fewer casual disciples they saw.

The Enforcement Hall was a stern building of dark wood and gray stone. A large black plaque hung above the entrance with the words "Discipline and Order" written in sharp calligraphy.

Chen Yu led them through the main doors and into a small side room. The room was simple: one wooden table, three chairs, and a single window that let in pale light. He sat down on the far side of the table and gestured for Lin Feng to sit opposite him. Lu Cang was left standing awkwardly in the corner, trying to shrink into the wall.

Chen Yu took out a recording jade slip and a brush.

"State your full name and outer sect identification number."

"Lin Feng. I forgot the number. It was probably something low." Lin Feng said.

Chen Yu’s brush stopped moving. He slowly lifted his eyes.

"Lin Feng. Do you understand the seriousness of the accusations against you? You openly disrespected an Elder in front of hundreds of disciples during an official lecture. You caused a public disturbance. You released an unidentified odor that left multiple disciples physically distressed. Several people have claimed emotional harm."

Lin Feng rested his chin on one hand, looking thoughtful.

"Emotional harm? That’s a little dramatic"

A vein began pulsing on the side of Chen Yu’s forehead.

[Chen Yu’s irritation is rising steadily]

[Rage Value +48]

Chen Yu placed the brush down with careful control.

"You appear to find this situation amusing. Allow me to clarify. If Elder Mo decides to press the matter fully, you are looking at confinement in the Reflection Caves, heavy deduction of contribution points, or possible expulsion from the outer sect. This is not a joke."

Lin Feng’s eyes brightened slightly at the mention of the Reflection Caves.

"Do the Reflection Caves usually have a lot of angry people inside them?"

Chen Yu stared at him in silence for a full second.

"What did you just ask?"

"Nothing important," Lin Feng said with a small wave of his hand. "Please continue, Senior Brother Chen. You’re handling this very professionally. Very intimidating and strong technique."

A second vein joined the first on Chen Yu’s forehead. The brush in his hand made a soft cracking sound.

In the corner, Lu Cang looked like he was trying to invent a new cultivation technique that would allow him to phase through solid walls.

Chen Yu inhaled slowly through his nose, forcing his voice to stay level.

"For now, you will not be expelled. However, you are officially being placed under observation. Any further public disturbances, acts of disrespect toward elders, or use of unidentified techniques will result in immediate punishment. In addition, you are required to pay a fine of twenty low grade spirit stones. This covers the destruction of Elder Mo’s podium and compensation for the emotional distress caused to your fellow disciples."

Lin Feng blinked.

"Twenty spirit stones? That’s quite steep for a first offense. Can I pay in installments? Or would the Enforcement Hall accept garlic as partial payment?"

Chen Yu’s hand tightened around the already cracked brush until it snapped cleanly in half.

"Get out."

"I appreciate the thorough explanation—"

"Get. Out."

Lin Feng stood up without further argument, still wearing a mild smile. As he passed Lu Cang, he gave the smaller boy a light pat on the shoulder.

"See? Still alive. That’s progress."

Chen Yu’s cold voice followed them as they reached the door.

"Lin Feng."

Lin Feng glanced back over his shoulder.

Chen Yu’s expression was sharp and serious.

"People who behave like you rarely last long in this sect. I suggest you try not to prove that observation correct too quickly."

Lin Feng’s smile widened just a fraction.

"I’ll do my best to exceed expectations, Senior Brother Chen."

He stepped out of the Enforcement Hall with Lu Cang stumbling closely behind him, looking like a man who had aged five years in few minutes. The system screen flickered into view again.

[New Status Applied: Under Observation]

[Note: Future disturbances will now attract faster attention from higher authorities]

[Current Rage Points: 946]

Lin Feng looked up at the towering peaks of the Flowing Wind Sect, the new status sitting on his panel like an open invitation.

"Under observation. That just means a better audience next time." He murmured to himself

He started walking back toward the outer dormitories, already opening the Tier 2 system shop and scrolling through the new options with clear interest.

The sect had officially started noticing .Which meant the real entertainment was only beginning
