Chapter 214: Chapter 146: Although I have a bad relationship with my dad, I will still recommend you to him.

"That year, the life-saving medicine you gave my sister was delivered to my husband, and Dancheng was nearby. He saw your hand as it emerged from under your cloak. I don’t mean to exaggerate, but my nephew has a photographic memory."

Ling Yunyun’s eyes were filled with affection and pride.

Shu Yao stared at Ke Dancheng, speechless. "You have a photographic memory, but you’re in the worst class in your year? I have to ask, where exactly are you putting that talent to use?"

Ke Dancheng looked embarrassed.

"No wonder you were so set on becoming my assistant." Shu Yao now understood everything.

’So to Ke Dancheng, her ’Medicine God’ and ’Mrs. Bao’ aliases were blown a long time ago!’

Shu Yao gave Ling Yunyun an important job: "Sister Yunyun, when my mom comes looking for me later, please run interference. You used to be a preschool teacher, so just tell her you’re the private tutor I hired for Xiao Juzi!"

Hearing Xiao Juzi’s name, Ling Yunyun’s eyes lit up with joy. "Why didn’t Ju Bao come?"

"He’s at home with my uncle. Once you move in, you’ll be able to see the little rascal every day!" With everything arranged, Shu Yao felt truly relieved.

Ke Dancheng: "..." ’Why does this feel so weird?’

’Sister Yao calls my aunt Sister Yunyun, so wouldn’t that make Sister Yao part of my aunt’s generation?’

’These relationships are a mess.’

Shu Yao decided to act first and ask for permission later, planning to use this time to go to the Traffic Police Department and get her flying qualification reinstated.

A little worried she wouldn’t know the procedure, Ke Dancheng decided to go with her.

The two of them had just stepped out of the OB/GYN department when they bumped into Jiang Fei, who was visiting his cousin.

"Yaoyao!" Jiang Fei was surprised to see her coming out of the OB/GYN department. "Are you pregnant with your second child?"

"...You’ve got a wild imagination." Shu Yao explained, "I’m here to see my classmate’s aunt."

Ke Dancheng added, "My aunt is the one who’s pregnant."

"Oh, oh..." Jiang Fei, who had been on the verge of celebrating, wiped the smile off his face and let out a couple of disappointed sounds. The sudden emotional whiplash was hard to take.

Shu Yao changed the subject. "Your cousin isn’t better yet?"

"Not... PFFT!" A full day had passed, but the image of Li Hancheng’s tongue swelling up in his mouth still made Jiang Fei crack up. "You really should go see what my cousin looks like. It’s hilarious! PFFT HA HA HA—"

’Hasn’t anyone ever punched you for gloating like this?!’ Shu Yao wanted to ask.

"We could go see your cousin, but I didn’t bring a gift..." She felt it was inappropriate to go empty-handed.

"I have something." Ke Dancheng produced a bag of apples from behind his back as if by magic.

He had taken them out of a Space Talisman.

Jiang Fei was amazed. "Where did you pull that from?"

’He wasn’t carrying anything a second ago, was he?’

Ke Dancheng ignored him. He didn’t plan on telling anyone about the Space Talisman. It was his way of keeping a secret for Sister Yao.

As they rode the elevator directly to the intensive care unit with Jiang Fei, Shu Yao couldn’t help but ask Ke Dancheng, "You’ve stocked up on quite a lot, haven’t you?"

Ke Dancheng: "Not much. Just about a hundred million."

Shu Yao: "Use it sparingly."

Jiang Fei, thinking they were talking about Star Coins, chimed in, "It’s not good to be a big spender."

Noticing their strange looks, Jiang Fei was baffled. ’Did I say something wrong?’

He hadn’t said anything wrong; they just weren’t on the same wavelength.

Although Li Hancheng was in the intensive care unit, relying on a breathing tube and a nutrient solution to stay alive, he was actually out of mortal danger and doing much better than yesterday. His tongue was still swollen, preventing him from breathing or speaking normally, but at least he could close his mouth now.

When Shu Yao and the others arrived, Song Xiaoxing was sitting by Li Hancheng’s medical pod, loudly bragging about getting a shout-out from Mrs. Bao the previous night.

"’Student Song Xiaoxing, well done!’" Song Xiaoxing was still basking in the ego boost from last night’s praise. "I wasn’t even this happy when my own dad praised me!"

Li Hancheng replied via text: "Duh! Has your dad ever praised you in front of tens of millions of people?!"

Seeing he had visitors, he greeted them with a projection of glowing text: "Cousin, Shu Yao, Specs, hello."

Ke Dancheng pushed up his black-framed glasses. He suddenly felt they were completely superfluous.

He glanced at Song Xiaoxing and guessed that he was the user who had asked him for help last night: [StarsAreNotGorillas].

Song Xiaoxing immediately stood up, his eyes shining with fervor. "Shu Yao, it’s so great to meet you offline! The hypothesis you proposed to our group yesterday was so interesting! And, thank you for helping us open the seed!"

Ke Dancheng froze for a moment, eyeing the two of them.

’Turns out they already knew each other.’

"It was no trouble at all." Shu Yao looked at Li Hancheng. "How are you doing?"

Li Hancheng replied with text again, his words filled with sincerity: "First, please forgive me for not having my ability to speak back yet. Second, thank you for saving my life! And third, thank you for coming to see me!
