Chapter 1995 - 1995: Two Shocking Pieces of News
"If the Toranks will try to move their forces from different zones to here, then why don't you do the same?"
"That's already happening," Moth paused, "but to be honest with you, we can't mobilise too much. Unless one zone gets seriously emptied from their armies, which is something unlikely to happen, then we can't do the same."
At this point, Hye regretted being weak. If he were stronger, if his warriors were stronger, then he would better move the fight towards the enemies in other zones, keep themselves quite busy and cut down lots of trouble before arriving here.
As if Moth could read Hye's mind, he added:
"As for the armies left behind in each zone, they got the order to start an open war against the Toranks and other top races there. But that won't go smoothly as we had here. After all… They don't have you."
Moth words were clear, if not for Hye and his unstoppable methods and means, then they would have failed in taking control over this zone as it was now.
"So the plan now is to sit tight, try to defend as long as possible, and stop the enemies from sending any army back to the universe?"
Hye gave Moth a weird look as the latter simply nodded.
"At least give me something," Hye rolled his eyes, "tell me what is that important for the Toranks in here so I can spot and stop it at once."
"I told you, I don't know…"
"Don't give me this bullshit," Hye narrowed his eyes, "you perfectly know, and surely you can tell me."
He looked around before adding, "We are far, far away from our universe. No one will ever know, can't possibly know, that you told me."
Hye knew he had cornered Moth, yet the latter kept acting stubborn and denied knowing anything.
Learning about this made Hye very suspicious, deciding he would dig the truth himself. And he had a reliable way to do it.
The first thing he did was to go to the newly added warriors from the recent three Toranks armies arrived here. He instantly asked if there were any instructions to bring up any goods from this world to the universe. And yet he didn't receive any hint or valuable information at all.
However, when he asked them about the recent updates on the Toranks and the universe, he heard some shocking news.
The general news came to align with what Moth said. There was indeed a huge universal war between almost everyone except the Hectors. And yet, the details he received were quite different.
The ones who started the attack weren't the Toranks; it was the Hescos. Hearing this made more sense to him, as he couldn't grasp how the Toranks planned for such an attack after their devastating loss.
But it seemed like the Hescos saw a great chance in weakening the Toranks, and they wanted revenge. So the war started by the Hescos hunted down lots of Toranks fleets, strong bases, and even distant forces.
The first hit was severe and bloody for the Toranks. Yet what the Hescos didn't account for was the fact that the Toranks weren't acting alone.
Out of the blue, lots of forces and races joined the Toranks side. And that changed tables entirely.
The Hescos started to lose one fight after another, while getting pushed back and even losing lots of their established bases and settlements.
The situation was dire until the Hescos used their full force. Like how the Toranks did, they also lured in their allies and friends, using all the hidden armies and even the secretive new weapons and inventions in the war.
The situation turned into a stalemate between the two sides, despite both sides losing tons of their forces, lots of their bases, and the entire universe was engulfed in swarms of fire and ruins.
Hye looked at the new intel and couldn't help but frown. The Hescos made a perfect move at first and aimed to weaken their enemies, yet the Toranks turned the tide with their hidden move.
Seeing the entire situation as an outsider made him see what others couldn't. The war didn't force the Toranks to make this move; it felt more like the war just exposed their hidden hand.
"The Toranks must have been planning for this for a long time already…"
Hye could tell how hard it was to establish and rope in lots of different forces and kingdoms on one's side. And when he thought back at the attack that targeted the Hescos' homeland planet, he stopped; everything made perfect sense.
"They must have been preparing this move to add up once the Hescos lost their homeland and lots of their upper echelon…"
He was lost in thought, realising that the hit he dealt to the Toranks was quite severe, way deadlier than what he initially thought. When he thought back to how his situation would have looked if he had stuck to the Toranks' side, he couldn't help but sigh.
"Even if I picked a losing side for now, it doesn't mean we'll lose the war by the end," he clenched his fists, moved his eyes towards the next shocking piece of news he learnt from those warriors.
To him, the Toranks underestimated him greatly. Even after they lost their biggest chess move and their deadliest weapon, they were still not putting him in their eyes.
And for a reason, he liked being treated like that.
Especially when he looked at the next piece of news, knowing that this was something the Toranks never expected he would foil, even by being far from the universe.
"Hahaha, I can't believe I foiled their hidden move long time ago myself, hahaha!"
The moment he read the next piece of news, he couldn't help but burst out in laughter. The news revolved around a secret weapon the Toranks needed to bring from the Outer Battlefield, some sort of weapon that they tried to move earlier into a big caravan and failed as the cargo was snatched away by a mysterious force.
