I Pick up a Lost Godhood
Chapter 653 - 634: Meeting a "Familiar Face" Again
ROAR...!
With the crack of the whip, the Demonized Qilin Beast finally began to change!
The thick blood mist that had been ceaselessly pouring out of the Qilin Beast’s body due to its Demonization... actually started to thin!
Yang Qi and Luo Shan had stopped fighting by now. Yang Qi decisively recalled the five lights of his Spiritual Artifacts, but he kept his True Essence circulating, remaining on high alert.
Luo Shan frowned, asking in surprise, "Is that an exorcism or Demon Suppression attribute?"
CRACK! Wang Meng’s fourth whip strike landed!
By this point, even the most unobservant person could tell something was wrong. The Demonized Qilin Beast looked imposing and ferocious, but in reality, it was frozen in place, allowing Wang Meng to whip it as he pleased!
What was going on?
Letting someone whip it without moving... could this still be considered Demonization?
The Qilin Beast had definitely fallen into Demonization; the blood mist covering its body was proof. For such a strange situation to occur, there could only be one explanation...
The whip!
That black whip in Wang Meng’s hand!
"That whip... it’s so potent! It’s completely suppressing the Demonization of a Seven-Transformation Qilin Beast... It couldn’t be a Sacred Artifact, could it?"
Everyone was in turmoil. Zhe Wulei, Jiang Jiedao, Wu Yuan, and the others stared dumbfounded at Wang Meng, unable to believe what they were seeing.
The Qilin Beast had been whipped into submission. Its Demonic Qi was dissipating, but it was also clear that the beast wouldn’t survive. However, with its Demon Attribute fading, it was no longer attacking.
"Wang Meng, oh, Wang Meng... just who are you!" Kun Yaoyang couldn’t believe it. The scheme he had meticulously prepared for years had been shattered in a single stroke.
"Don’t be in such a hurry, Brother Kun. We’ll have a good, long chat in a little while."
Wang Meng hadn’t expected the Fifth Transformation Demonization to be so difficult to handle either.
Kun Yaoyang froze for a moment, then chuckled. "Wang Meng, no matter who you are, for ruining the plans of our White Bone Sect, this will not end until one of us is dead!"
A few White Bone Sect disciples returned to Kun Yaoyang’s side. After a swirl of black mist, they vanished without a trace.
Yang Qi and Luo Shan had already blasted through the barrier and given chase.
"Little Yu, are you all right?"
Looking at Muhe Xiaoyu’s pale face, Wang Meng felt a sense of helplessness. He never would have thought she would throw herself in front of him at that moment.
Jiang Biyao stood pale-faced, unable to take a single step forward.
Wu Yuan, Zhe Wulei, and the others looked at each other in dismay. With Wang Meng being this powerful, where in Wang City was there still a place for them...
’Just what is the Wang Family up to?!’
Fatty Bai was trembling—not from fear, but from excitement. ’Holy hell, the Bai Family is about to rise!’
Kun Yaoyang and the core members of the White Bone Sect had all fled, leaving only their underlings behind. After this incident, the Bai Family had thoroughly gained the upper hand and stood in the limelight, unrivaled. Everything that belonged to the Kun Family now went to the Bai Family. More importantly, they had gained the support of the Spirit Control Association and the Divine Artifact Pavilion. Implicated by his connection to the Kun Family, Wu Yuan was recalled by the Pill Immortal Alliance, and he would likely not face a pleasant outcome. The prestige of the Jiang and Zhe Families was greatly diminished, leaving them a shadow of their former selves.
Only two great families now remained in Wang City: the Muhe Clan and the Bai Family. The story of Muhe Xiaoyu sacrificing herself to save Wang Meng had already spread through every street and alley, making their relationship self-evident.
One exciting event after another unfolded in Wang City, and it was a lively time. Master Wang, however, had slipped away to enjoy some peace and quiet. With matters having progressed this far, his return to Haojing was only a matter of time. Zhan Yingluo was quite disappointed that she had missed the main event, but what she had witnessed was already being reported back to Haojing. Wang Meng’s return to the capital would be the true start of the show.
The leisurely Master Wang was currently zoning out in the Divine Space.
In the Heaven-Reaching Realm, this particularly special "back garden of the gods" in the Middle Thousand Realm offered two kinds of lives.
One was for Cultivators who could enter the Divine Space, with hopes of ascension.
The other was for Cultivators who could not, dedicating their lives to the mortal world.
Who was luckier?
It was hard to say. Being able to enter the Divine Space wasn’t just an opportunity; it was a crisis. It was a place where danger and opportunity coexisted.
Master Wang had set foot in the Divine Space several times now. After a period of observation and learning, it was no longer an unfamiliar place to him.
Here, the importance of factions was even greater. They relied on each other and competed with each other. Without a doubt, the faction of the Three Immortals was the largest, but it was also the most loosely organized.
If you were affiliated with the Three Immortals, you generally wouldn’t provoke others, and others wouldn’t provoke you. Of course, this affiliation wasn’t a foolproof protective talisman.
The Five Emperors weren’t exactly a faction, but rather five publicly acclaimed experts of the Five Elements, something like the five great masters. It was said that no one had ever seen the Three Immortals make a move, or even knew their Five Elements attributes. However, there was no doubt that the Three Immortals were at least as strong as the Five Emperors. In fact, the Three Immortals had reached a greater height in the Divine Sealing Tower, giving them an air of elusiveness, like a divine dragon that shows its head but never its tail.
The Three Immortals and Five Emperors didn’t have a huge impact on the daily lives of ordinary Cultivators in the Divine Space. In fact, their presence provided a degree of convenience. The trade here was far more prosperous than in the outside world, featuring only the highest quality goods. After all, circulation was much easier. All sorts of strange and rare Secret Treasures from every corner of the realms could be found here. Whether one could recognize their value was another matter, but anyone who could enter the Divine Space was a capable individual, and that went for both buyers and sellers.
The Three Major Conferences still held a controlling position. Of course, the fact that they were an alliance was the very reason for their continued existence.
The Seven Extremes, however, were a different matter entirely. They were a newly risen power, a Sect comprised of Cultivators loyal only to their Sect Leader. They hid themselves within the major imperial dynasties, and the dynasties themselves were largely powerless against them.
The White Bone Sect of Great Xia and the Netherworld Sect of Great Zhou were prime examples. The White Bone Sect was notoriously tyrannical, both inside and outside the Divine Space. To put it simply, they bullied the weak to strengthen themselves—a textbook case of harming others for their own benefit. The White Bone Sect Leader was one of the foremost experts in the world today, with a multitude of followers. It was said that he had once inadvertently offended the Golden Emperor. They fought a great battle, and though the Sect Leader was defeated, he managed to escape with ease, a feat that greatly boosted the White Bone Sect’s fame and prestige.
Although the Five Emperors were powerful as individuals, in terms of factional strength, they couldn’t compare to the Skeleton Sect.
The Netherworld Sect was an outlier. No one knew the identity of its Sect Leader. Their methods were simply unfathomable. It didn’t matter if you were righteous or evil; if you offended the Netherworld Sect, they would pursue you to the death. While the Skeleton Sect was openly arrogant, the Netherworld Sect was sinister and ruthless in the shadows.
As a result, all Cultivators tried to steer clear of these two Sects.
Master Wang had also gained a certain understanding of his own Godhood. The Power of Laws was a force generated through a complex arrangement of the Godhood. The abilities contained within a Godhood far surpassed those of a Life Mark or a Life Wheel, which was why it could fully express order.
With a Demigod’s Fate Grid, Wang Meng’s three great Powers of Order could definitely be improved.
However, there was one issue that worried Wang Meng slightly. His entire Godhood had been inherited from Moo Shan. After so long, especially after fusing with his Primordial Spirit, it had completely become his own. But every Cultivator who came to the Divine Space would obtain their own Fate Grid.
Back in the Soul Gathering Hall, Wang Meng had felt as if he could also generate a new Fate Grid, but something seemed to be missing. It was also possible that his Godhood had absorbed all the power, causing the Foundation Establishment to fail.
Within Wang Meng’s Divine Sea, besides his brilliant Primordial Spirit, there was an inconspicuous corner. In it lay a tiny Seed of Fate Grid, dormant due to a lack of power.
Wang Meng had tried to nourish it with his Primordial Spirit, only to find this Life Seed was incredibly stubborn. Though weak and minuscule, it refused to accept any external power.
Life Mark, Life Wheel, Fate Grid—the higher the level, the closer it was to the essence of the soul.
Wang Meng’s Life Seed had truly inherited his own domineering and stubborn nature. Even when completely surrounded and steeped in the power of his Primordial Spirit, it remained utterly unmoved.
Master Wang was both annoyed and amused. It was as if it was being stubborn with him, just as stubborn as he was.
His Godhood was suppressing his own Fate Grid. Possessing dual Fate Grids was undoubtedly an affront to the Dao Laws. He figured that even if he could force the seed to bloom, the subsequent problems would not be few. Fortunately, Master Wang thoroughly enjoyed such challenges.
’Since it was born in the Divine Space, there must be a solution to be found here.’
During this time, Wang Meng had mainly focused on getting acquainted with this "back garden of the gods." The Cultivators here all carried a sense of reverence, but Master Wang felt no such thing.
His opponent was the Dao Laws, something more powerful and ethereal than the gods themselves. This so-called back garden of the gods was merely one part of the great Dao.
The Divine Hall was crowded. Master Wang wore a golden wolf-head mask, making him particularly conspicuous.
It was a little trinket he’d had forged at the Divine Artifact Pavilion. Nothing special, just something to hide his identity.
Wang Meng liked wolves. He was the Wolf King, but now his pack was gone. He was just a lone wolf.
A rather young Female Cultivator walked up to Wang Meng. A short distance away, a few other Cultivators seemed to be arguing.
The Female Cultivator looked Wang Meng up and down, then smiled, revealing a set of pearly white teeth. "Hey, fellow Cultivator, a few of us are getting ready to take on the Divine Sealing Tower. Want to join us?"
She pointed to the group a short distance away. There was a gigantic Power Cultivator, a Sword Cultivator, and a Pill Cultivator. The entire group had an air of arrogance about them.
Nowadays, any young Cultivators who dared to be so brazenly arrogant in a group were usually from powerful backgrounds.
Wang Meng glanced around. "Are you talking to me?"
’Even with this wolf mask on, someone’s trying to talk to me.’
"Yeah. I’m standing right in front of you. Who else would I be talking to?"
The young Female Sword Cultivator wore her hair in a long ponytail. She couldn’t have been very old, a teenager at most, but she was quite tall and slender. She wore a golden Dragon Robe, marking her as a member of the Imperial Family—and a spoiled one at that. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be so bold.
"Not interested," Wang Meng said flatly.
"You’re from Great Zhou, and I like your mask. My name is Jin’Er. I’m from Great Zhou, too. How about we be friends?"
Jin’Er was clearly very interested in Wang Meng. "You’ve been crouching over there by yourself for a long time. What are you looking at? I remember seeing you here looking at the same spot two days ago. Is there something good over there?"
’Great Zhou Imperial Family, Jin’Er... Jin’Er... The name sounds a little familiar.’
"Hey, kid! Don’t think you can act all mysterious just because you’re wearing a mask. Are you coming or not? Be quick about it! You don’t even have to do anything, just follow us and get a free ride!"
The one who spoke was the Power Cultivator. His arms were bare, and he was chewing on a blade of grass, looking extremely impatient.
"Jin’Er, if he doesn’t want to come, just leave it," said a Bow Cultivator dressed in purple.
Wang Meng glanced over, and the entire bow, from its core to its surface, was laid bare before his eyes. "That’s a nice bow."
"You can tell? Big Sis Ningzi’s Celestial Simurgh Bow is a Divine Weapon of Great Zhou, you know!"
Jin’Er said, clapping her hands.
