I Pick Up Talents on the Interstellar Battlefield
Chapter 1086 - 678: Overwhelming Destruction
Chapter 1086: Chapter 678: Overwhelming Destruction
The sound of the wind sobbed across the battlefield.
Qin Tian and Dongfang Haoyue stood side by side on the willow branch. The dark, mysterious golden limbs under their feet gently undulated as if rhythmically breathing like a living creature.
Willow twigs still hung around, like thousands of suspended ancient spears, vigilantly aimed at the black-clad men below who had yet to leave. The light of blue-green continued to flow slowly through the canopy, resonating with the spiritual energy fluctuations emanating from Dongfang Haoyue.
Dongfang Haoyue slightly adjusted his breathing and asked solemnly, "Qin Tian, is Han Xu alright?"
"He’s fine, I’ve already moved him to a safe place," Qin Tian nodded slightly.
"Good." Upon hearing this, Dongfang Haoyue finally let out a sigh of relief.
In fact, Han Xu was led away by the Stele Demon as part of a plan he had discussed with Qin Tian in advance.
Qin Tian, using spatial techniques, transported part of the Stele Demon near their route of advance, while Han Xu possessed an exceptionally keen sense talent, capable of detecting the Stele Demon’s trail from miles away.
Han Xu was one of his most loyal subordinates, with the strength of a Peak Tier Six powerhouse, a formidable warrior anywhere, but in this intense confrontation, Han Xu not only couldn’t protect him but would become his vulnerability instead.
Therefore, for the safety of Han Xu, and for his own unfettered freedom to confront Wei Dong, he needed Qin Tian’s assistance to temporarily remove Han Xu from the battlefield.
The current situation proved this step was the right move.
"Five Tier Six, and three Tier Seven," Qin Tian’s gaze swept over the scene below, his eyebrows slightly raised, with a hint of amusement in his tone, "What on earth did you do to provoke such animosity?"
"Guess what."
Dongfang Haoyue, who had been tensed, finally relaxed at this moment, and a familiar lazy smile reappeared on his face.
"I’m not interested in your antics, just don’t drag Ming Yue into this," Qin Tian pouted.
"Don’t worry, my sister’s safety is more important than anything else."
Dongfang Haoyue’s tone became serious, "Besides, with the Master of the Dan Tower shielding her, those people wouldn’t dare to act brazenly against her."
The two stood on the willow branch, chatting as if nothing unusual was happening.
The black-clad men below watched this scene, although their faces were obscured by masks, the rising anger in their eyes couldn’t be concealed.
Ordinarily, they, as Tier Six and Tier Seven experts, commanded authority akin to regional lords, wielding the power of life and death, feared and respected wherever they went. How dare anyone treat them so lightly?
"What do we do?"
Several turned their gaze to the most burly man among them.
The leader in black gritted his teeth, his voice low and decisive, "Kill!"
The chance to catch Dongfang Haoyue alone was extremely rare.
If missed, and should Dongfang Haoyue hide in the Dongfang Clan headquarters and never venture out, they would never have another opportunity.
So, even though they dreaded Qin Tian, fully aware of the dire risk — this time, no matter the cost, Dongfang Haoyue must be killed.
"Yes!"
The eyes of the black-clad men blazed again, their suppressed momentum under Qin Tian’s presence erupted explosively, their killing intent like a tide.
"You handle the Tier Sevens, I’ll deal with the Tier Sixes," Dongfang Haoyue tightened his grip on the longsword, the willow twigs rising again, the blade-like leaves emitting a faint hum.
"With me here, is there still need for you to act?"
Qin Tian, unhurriedly, drew a segment of the Black Frost Saber from its scabbard, its dark blade tracing a cold arc through the air.
His gaze fell on Dongfang Haoyue, a slight grin on his lips, "Haven’t you always wanted to see my real strength? Today, I’ll let you witness it."
Before the words finished, Qin Tian’s figure vanished from where he stood.
There was no eruption of spiritual energy, no trace of spatial fluctuation, not even the wind stirred—he vanished as if he had never stood on that branch.
In the next instant—
The blade flashed like a moon wheel across the night sky, dazzling and icy.
"Slit—"
The black-clad leader’s body jolted suddenly, a bloodline appeared across his neck.
Immediately, his head detached smoothly from his neck, the cut mirror-like in cleanliness, blood gushing from the stump and spreading a dark red fan shape in the air, hissing as it hit the desolate wilderness.
The head tumbled several times in the air before landing heavily with a "thud," raising a cloud of dust.
Upon closer inspection, inside the headless corpse, meridians, flesh, and bones had been completely shattered by a violent force, destroying his life force from within entirely.
The remaining black-clad men were shocked, whirling around to search for the figure but found nothing.
One strike.
Just one strike.
The strongest among them, the Tier Seven leader, decapitated, and they couldn’t even see when Qin Tian had drawn his saber.
In that moment, a vast fear swept over them like an icy tide, flooding their hearts and drowning their will inch by inch. Their bodies felt as though plunged in an ice cave, fingers trembling slightly.
At the same time, Dongfang Haoyue witnessed all this firsthand.
The shock within him no less than that of the black-clad men.
He knew of Qin Tian’s prowess.
Before entering the Secret Realm, Qin Tian even battled and defeated a Tier Eight powerhouse from the Golden Clan—there was no doubt his strength had stepped into the realm of Tier Eight.
Yet he didn’t expect Qin Tian to be this formidable.
