News | Hunter Association’s Major Pillar, Director Choi Seunghee, Goes Missing Inside Gate

It was officially announced that Director Choi Seunghee of the Hunter Association went missing inside the Gate that appeared on the 2nd. The Gate was D-rank, significantly lower than the rank of the Gates Director Choi normally entered.

Hunter Association Hunter Kim Jibin (26), who had entered with them to clear the Gate at the time, cited the toxic minerals inside the Dungeon and the unstable Dungeon terrain as the primary causes.

And that was not the only piece of tragic news for the Hunter Association. Lee Euntae (26), who had accompanied them, also showed symptoms of poisoning from toxic substances inside the Dungeon. He was urgently transported to a nearby hospital immediately after the clear, but Hunter Lee ultimately lost his life on the morning of the 3rd.

Citizens have pointed out that both Director Choi and Hunter Lee were high-ranking B-rank Hunters, while the Gate they cleared was only D-rank, and concerns are being raised over whether Dungeon Gate ranks need to be reassessed.

On the other hand, current Gate rankings are determined based on the energy (GE) waves emitted by a Gate.

- If we only believe what the people who entered the Gate say, then where the hell is the truth? There’s been this and that said about the Association for years, but every time there’s no evidence, so they just listen to what people say and close the investigation. Look at this time too. Someone died in a D-rank Gate and they’re just believing what the survivors say. How do we know somebody didn’t just shove them off in there.? Articles like this are what violate the public’s right to know. The public should.know the truth too!

News | “A Proper Investigation Into the Hunter Association” Citizens’ Voices Grow Louder

Director Choi’s disappearance in the Gate that occurred on the 2nd has ultimately been confirmed as a death. With the Gate clear completed, further investigation in the area is no longer possible.

Hunter Kim Jibin (26), who participated in clearing the Gate at the time, released a statement saying they were ‘deeply devastated’ by the news.

There have been a total of 17 cases of Hunter Association Hunters going missing and dying over the past five years. While that is an average figure, only 2 cases had their exact causes of death determined from beginning to end. Choi Seunghee dying like that was way too shocking and I still can’t believe it... Honestly it’s not like I was some huge fan or anything, but I’ve been watching them since their Special Response Team days and lately they barely even went into the field anymore, so it’s even more shocking....

But just closing the Gate and saying the investigation is over is way too weird. This wasn’t in our country, but remember that S-rank Dungeon in Australia before (the one Seo Jehyun, Kwon Taehan, etc. went to support)? Chase was S-rank too and died there, and there wasn’t even a proper eyewitness account

Of course that one was an S-rank Dungeon, but Sung Uijae, Kwon Taehan, and foreign S-ranks all went in as support, and he wasn’t some low-rank Hunter but an S-rank Hunter, yet there was no proper explanation of what happened....

Once articles related to the Hunter Association and all kinds of stitched-together Shorts started being uploaded indiscriminately, the reaction definitely got noisy. I skimmed through a few summaries of the reactions and comments, then turned off my phone screen.

“Hunter Seo.”

Sung Uijae called to me in a slightly lower voice than usual. When I belatedly raised my head, Sung Uijae had leaned forward and lowered his voice as he questioned me.

“What kind of promise did you make this time....”
