"Because you’re working on cases at the police station?" Shen Yanzhou asked.

Shen Yanzhou glanced at her, then lowered his eyes. "Why the sudden move to working on cases with the police?"

Su Miaoyi looked up at him.

Shen Yanzhou raised his eyes, and they met hers for a moment. "Do you like working at the police station?"

Su Miaoyi’s eyelashes fluttered.

No one had ever asked her that question.

It seemed she had never really thought about it herself, either.

Shen Yanzhou cleared his throat and stopped laughing.

"Didn’t go well?" Su Miaoyi asked.

"The other party wasn’t too pleased with my profession," Yan Cheng said.

"She wasn’t happy with my profession, either," Lu Zhishen added.
