’Wang Hao is arriving in Rongcheng today. That woman, Chen Xiaoyan, should be on her way to the airport to pick him up right now.

Li Ying was watching Zhu Daqi’s car, lost in thought, when a voice pulled him back to reality.

Noticing Li Ying was spacing out, the elderly vendor called out to him.

"Come on, get in the car! We don’t want to be late." The portly man opened the car door and motioned for his son to get in.

In a nearby greenbelt, two small stray cats watched the entire exchange between the father and son.

"Meow... That little fatty who gets spanked by his mom is trying to get out of school by pretending to be sick," the Little Black Cat said.

"Meow... Zhou Tongtong loves going to school. Why doesn’t he?" the Little White Cat muttered in confusion.

After saying this, it turned to look toward the stairwell of Building Three in the distance, then said to its companion, "Zhou Tongtong’s coming out."

The Little Black Cat turned its head toward the Building Three stairwell. A moment later, Zhou Tongtong emerged, her hair tied in a ponytail, skipping happily. Her mother followed behind, calling for her to slow down so she wouldn’t fall.

The two little strays stared at Zhou Tongtong. As if sensing their gaze, she immediately looked over in their direction and gave them a wave.

"Little White, Little Black! I had the weirdest dream about you guys last night..."

"Tongtong, hurry up! We need to go, or we’ll be late," Xia Qing said, wheeling her electric scooter out of the shed.

"I’m off to school! I’ll tell you about my dream when I get back," Zhou Tongtong said to the Little Black Cat and Little White Cat before hopping onto the scooter.

The Little Black Cat and Little White Cat watched Zhou Tongtong and her mother leave, their curiosity piqued by her mention of a dream about them.

"’That guy’s coming out,’ the Little White Cat said, its gaze shifting back to the Building Three stairwell."

The Little Black Cat knew exactly who its companion meant. A moment later, Lin Li emerged from the stairwell, a half-eaten ice cream bar in his hand.

"Nice weather today..." Lin Li commented as he stepped out of the stairwell, glancing up at the sky.

He then finished the rest of his ice cream, tossed the wooden stick into a trash can on the side of the road, and headed for his parking spot.

’Those two little strays are staring at me again...’ Lin Li thought as he passed the greenbelt. He noticed the Little Black Cat and Little White Cat sitting on the grass, their eyes fixed on him.

"Hey, have you two had breakfast yet?"

"..."

The two little strays remained silent in response to Lin Li’s question.

With a mere thought, a package of sausage links appeared in Lin Li’s hand out of thin air.

The Little White Cat and Little Black Cat froze, stunned to see the package of sausages materialize in Lin Li’s hand. They then watched as he unwrapped one of the links and beckoned to them with it.

’The sausage doesn’t seem to be tempting them... How did Zhou Tongtong get so close to these two strays, anyway? They’re so attached to her.’

Recalling how docile the two little strays were with Zhou Tongtong, Lin Li muttered to himself before tossing the sausage link over to them.

Lin Li had other things to attend to, so he didn’t have time to tease the two strays. After tossing them the sausage, he left.

VRRROOOM...

The silver-white van’s engine roared to life. Lin Li drove out of the complex and sped toward Zhang Yuxi’s jewelry store.

The Little Black Cat and Little White Cat watched Lin Li drive away. Their gazes then shifted to the patch of grass nearby, fixating on the fragrant sausage link.

"Meow... His hands were empty, and then a package of sausages just appeared out of nowhere. Did you see that?" said the Little Black Cat.

"Meow... Of course I saw it! I’m not blind," the Little White Cat retorted.

"Meow... Do you know how he did that?" the Little Black Cat asked.

"Meow... Back when we were living in the park, we saw someone make candy and other things appear out of thin air.

The people watching all said the magician was amazing. Maybe he’s a magician, too!" the Little White Cat guessed.

The Little Black Cat nodded, putting the matter of the spontaneously appearing sausage out of its mind.

Its attention was now entirely focused on the sausage link lying on the grass nearby, giving off an irresistible aroma.

The two little strays then split the sausage link Lin Li had tossed them and ate their halves with gusto.

Explosive music blasted inside the car as Zhu Daqi bobbed his head, humming along to the beat.

Suddenly, he stopped humming, his eyes locking onto a silver-white van pulling out of the complex’s main gate up ahead.

’I thought you were going to stay cooped up at home all day! Didn’t expect you to head out this early.’

Zhu Daqi watched the van pass by. Once it was a few dozen meters ahead, he quickly started his car and began to follow.

He was worried about being spotted, but with the tracker, he didn’t have to worry about losing his target. He kept a significant distance, tailing the van from far behind.

After tailing him for over twenty minutes, Zhu Daqi saw the van pull into a parking spot in front of a jewelry store.

’Leaving the house this early just to go shopping at a jewelry store...?!’

Just as Zhu Daqi was reeling from the surprise of Lin Li’s early morning trip to a jewelry store, Li Ying, who had been quietly tailing him, was equally astonished.

On the second floor of the jewelry store, an employee led Lin Li to Zhang Yuxi’s office.
