Chapter 367: Chapter 291: Awakening (2)

"Besides, once you’re all dead, the Wanxiang Sect will be furious. That would be quite interesting, but how could they ever prove it was me? I’m starting to get impatient."

After speaking, the Purple-robed Cultivator licked his lips. His eyes gleamed with excitement, flashing with a bloodthirsty light. He looked at the group and took a soft step forward.

"Heaven’s Collapse!"

CRACK... CRACKLE... The protective sky-curtain shattered like glass, the sound of it breaking echoing continuously. Black cracks appeared in the void, and an endless pressure, like mountains, bore down on Yu Changsheng and the others.

Their bodies sank, their backs bent under the formless pressure, unable to straighten up. The oppressive feeling targeted their physical forms, growing heavier and heavier, as if countless mountains were crashing down—a heaven-collapsing moment.

"Pfft—"

Yu Changsheng’s face paled as well, but he managed to hold on. The golden protective light from his Divine Light Body-Breaking Celestial Technique enveloped Li Minghan, Zhang Tianwen, and the others.

"Interesting. How long can you last?"

The Purple-robed Cultivator spoke with faint amusement, pointing his right hand to the sky and pressing his left hand to the ground. In the next instant, endless blood-red light seeped out from the cracks in the sky-curtain.

"Blood Evil!"

WHOOSH... An eerie wind howled. Endless Blood Evil Qi, carrying a foul, metallic stench, poured continuously from the cracks in the sky, spreading out like tidal waves until it covered the entire area.

Unlike Heaven’s Collapse, this Blood Evil was an attack aimed specifically at the Divine Soul. As the blood mist spread, Yu Changsheng and the others felt their Sea of Consciousness tremble. A sharp pain, as if their Divine Souls were being pricked by needles, shot through them.

Yu Changsheng was still holding up; after all, his Divine Soul and physical body were far stronger than an ordinary person’s. He could barely withstand the Purple-robed Cultivator’s assault. But Zhang Tianwen and the others couldn’t. At this moment, aside from Li Minghan, whose Status was still decent, the rest were already at their limit.

"Thousand Thoughts Slash!"

Yu Changsheng gritted his teeth. He glanced back at his companions, their faces pale and their bodies swaying unsteadily. His Sea of Consciousness rippled, and his Divine Sense wove a black protective net, enveloping them all.

"A futile struggle, nothing more."

The Purple-robed Cultivator snorted coldly. Looking at them, he gestured with both hands and then flicked his sleeve. Within the sealed space, countless Blood Needles materialized inside the churning blood mist and shot toward Yu Changsheng.

"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"

Yu Changsheng coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground. He struggled to prop himself up with his hands, gasping for breath. Under the assault of the Blood Needles, both the golden protection of his Divine Light Body-Breaking Celestial Technique and the barrier from his Thousand Thoughts Slash were instantly covered in cracks, on the verge of shattering.

"Changsheng, don’t worry about us! You have a chance, get out of here!"

Li Minghan’s face was grim as he watched Yu Changsheng struggle to hold the front line. His voice trembled as he spoke, his body and Divine Soul shaking under the dual pressure.

"Shut up!"

Yu Changsheng roared, his eyes bloodshot and his voice hoarse. He glared at the mocking Purple-robed Cultivator, veins bulging on his face, his expression savage.

"Then let’s start with you. The Young Master should be quite fond of your True Spirit."

The Purple-robed Cultivator chuckled lightly at Yu Changsheng’s state. With a gentle flick of his finger, purple lock chains materialized from the blood mist. They pulsed with a thick, bloody light, carrying the dual pressure of both a physical and Divine Soul attack as they appeared around Yu Changsheng, completely surrounding him.

"Extract!"

The Purple-robed Cultivator bit his tongue, spitting a mouthful of bloody essence onto the purple lock chains. The chains immediately began to glow with an eerie, violet-red light. With a CLANGING sound, they abruptly tightened, about to bind Yu Changsheng completely.

"BZZZZ..."

Yu Changsheng spat out blood, his mind reeling. He could only let the chains tighten around him, circle by circle. Excruciating pain assaulted his body and Divine Soul simultaneously. His very soul trembled, and a heavy buzzing filled his ears.

A bloody light pulsed as the chains constricted, aiming for the top of Yu Changsheng’s skull, about to bore inside.

!!!

In that instant, a sense of mortal danger exploded, sweeping through every cell in Yu Changsheng’s body. At the last possible moment, the purple lock chains suddenly froze. They stopped an inch from the top of his skull, as if trapped in a mire, unable to advance.

"Hm?"

The Purple-robed Cultivator’s brows knitted. His eyes narrowed as he stared at Yu Changsheng in surprise. He poured out his Magical Power, increasing the force.

"Alas..."

A soft sigh rippled outward. The voice was ancient, its cadence strange. It sent waves through the void, carrying a primitive aura, as if it had returned from a distant antiquity to the present world, stirring up gust after gust of an ancient wind that howled without end...

"You brat. How long was I asleep? You nearly got your Divine Soul obliterated..."

The deep sigh echoed, resounding through the heavens. At the sound of this voice, the wind stopped, and the clouds and mist began to churn. With a flash of light, the Profound Turtle’s enormous body abruptly solidified, appearing before them.

"Senior..."

Yu Changsheng struggled to lift his head. He gazed at the massive form before him, his mind reeling.

CRACK... CRACK...

The purple lock chains suddenly shattered. The pressure from Heaven’s Collapse vanished completely, and the blood mist churned and receded. In its place stood the Profound Turtle’s colossal body, suppressing the very heavens and earth as an even more intense pressure rushed toward the Purple-robed Cultivator.

"What?!" 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

The Purple-robed Cultivator cried out in astonishment. He stared at the behemoth that had suddenly appeared, sucking in a sharp breath, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"Th-th-this... This is his tamed beast?! Impossible! It wasn’t in the intel!"

The Purple-robed Cultivator’s scalp tingled with fear, his mind exploding in shock. He felt the Profound Turtle’s terrifying pressure, and his gaze was filled with extreme wariness.

Aside from a select few, no one else knew about the Contract with the Profound Turtle. Even Zhang Tianwen and the others were seeing it for the first time, and the Purple-robed Cultivator certainly had no information about it.

Oooooom...

The Profound Turtle stared coldly at the Purple-robed Cultivator, a low hum emanating from its mouth. At this sound, the once-still wind began to move again. The ground trembled, the void rumbled, and the winds surged like gathering storm clouds.

Moreover, the thick water vapor that was already ever-present on Huishui Mountain began to surge in from all directions. In moments, it enveloped the entire space, swallowing everyone within, as terrifying waves of pressure erupted one after another.

"Water Country, Boundless Calamity!"

RUMBLE!

The void trembled. The entire space was sealed off as the water vapor churned within, quickly condensing into real raindrops and forming a hemisphere that pressed down upon the earth.

Inside this dome, massive pillars of water shot up, reaching from earth to sky like dancing tornadoes. In an instant, the world’s colors changed, the ground collapsed, and trees were shattered and snapped. The Profound Turtle’s massive silhouette replaced the sky itself, its icy gaze fixed on the Purple-robed Cultivator, like the supreme Dominator of this watery domain.

And so, the watery domain contracted. The heaven-reaching water tornadoes converged and spiraled, completely surrounding the purple-robed figure. The Boundless Calamity erupted, howling as it charged!

"Impossible!!!"

The Purple-robed Cultivator roared. The composure on his face vanished, replaced by incredulous panic. A powerful sense of life-and-death crisis washed over his mind. Faced with this Boundless Calamity, which was like the might of heavens itself, the Purple-robed Cultivator finally panicked.

The water carried immense weight; every single drop held boundless power. It gathered into an ocean pressing down on the Purple-robed Cultivator. In comparison, his body was like a lone boat in a vast sea. Faced with this tremendous power, he couldn’t even muster the will to resist.

"Blood Evil Heaven-Overwhelming Light!"

The Purple-robed Cultivator gritted his teeth. Suppressing the sense of crisis in his heart, he performed a Finger Technique to cast his spell. A massive wave of bloody light, thick with Blood Evil Qi, shot toward the sky and into the watery vortex. But it was like a stone ox sinking into the sea—it vanished without making a single ripple.

"Pfft—"

The Purple-robed Cultivator’s face was ashen. He watched this, spat out a mouthful of blood, and looked up at the Profound Turtle’s indifferent eyes in the sky. His heart trembled, and he reached out, grabbing the shivering Chen Buhuo and pulling him in front as a shield.

"My lord!! Don’t!"

Chen Buhuo’s face was filled with terror. He struggled, but to no avail. Turning to face the brilliant, heavenly might, the fear of death washed over him in wave after wave.

The Purple-robed Cultivator clenched his jaw. He plunged his fingers into Chen Buhuo’s chest, right where his heart was, and then squeezed. A crimson light bloomed.

An expression of unwilling terror spread across Chen Buhuo’s face as his heart was suddenly crushed. His Vitality dissipated, replaced by an intense, bloody light that erupted from his corpse, forming a scarlet barrier that enveloped the Purple-robed Cultivator.
