Chapter 392: Chapter 304: Fame Shakes Haoyue

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

The sound of something tearing through the air blasted through the clouds, creating concentric ripples in the void. An invisible shockwave swept out in all directions. An explosion of immense force propelled it forward, drawing a long streak of light across the sky—a scar upon the heavens—as it stabbed viciously toward Chen Geng!

"No!!"

Chen Geng turned his head. The spear grew rapidly in his eyes, quickly filling his entire field of vision. Like a crack of thunder, the sense of imminent death swiftly consumed him, reaching its peak in that very instant.

At this moment, the surrounding Domain flickered, manifesting as an immense pressure weighing down on Chen Geng’s body. The Divine Thought of the God Shocking Needle continuously ravaged his Sea of Consciousness, bringing with it a violent tearing sensation that muddled his Perception. And so, his end came as no surprise. The Golden Spear pierced through his heart, his organs instantly turned to pulp, and his Vitality slowly faded away.

He turned for one last look at Yu Changsheng, his expression a mixture of astonishment and regret. Then, his eyes slowly closed, the Flame within them extinguished, and his body plummeted from the sky.

Meanwhile, with Chen Geng’s fall, the battle below involving Zhang Tianwen and his companion was also drawing to a close. After Chen Geng perished, the three remaining members of the Dark Stream lost all hope and fell into despair. It wasn’t long before they, too, fell at the hands of Zhang Tianwen and Li Minghan.

"The battle... is over?!"

"A Golden Core expert in action... Truly terrifying!"

"A complete rout! And he’s a Beast Master? Can their combat strength be this frightening?"

As the battle concluded, the various powers, large and small, who had been secretly observing, watched from a distance, filled with shock, suspicion, and caution.

"Wait, is that? Changsheng?!"

The site of their battle was not far from the Yu Family Mansion. When the fight ended and the aftershocks dissipated, moonlight spilled down from the heavens. The members of the Yu Family, who had been watching the entire time, found the silhouette bathed in moonlight growing more and more familiar.

In the end, it was Yu Cheng who, relying on his intimate familiarity with his own son, cried out in a tone of disbelief.

"What? Are you sure it’s Changsheng?"

At his words, the members of the Yu Family erupted in an uproar. Their eyes went wide as they all turned to stare at Yu Cheng.

"Yes, it should be... It’s definitely Changsheng. There’s no mistake."

Feeling the fervent gazes upon him, Yu Cheng took a deep breath. He turned back to stare intently at Yu Changsheng’s silhouette and spoke with certainty. Meanwhile, his heart rippled with emotion—a mix of deep feeling and surging excitement.

Seeing Yu Cheng’s certainty, the crowd could no longer remain calm. Yu Taoran, in particular, strained his eyes toward the distance before transforming into a streak of light and speeding toward Yu Changsheng.

Along the way, his heart was a tempest of doubt and unease. But eventually, these feelings all melted away, replaced by an expression of utter disbelief and raw excitement that was plain to see on his face.

After all, judging by the combat strength Yu Changsheng had displayed, he was no different from a Golden Core cultivator! If it really was Yu Changsheng, then the implications of that...

At this thought, Yu Taoran took a deep breath and pushed his speed even further, the anticipation in his eyes growing more intense.

’The heavens have blessed my Yu Family! If we truly have produced such a young Golden Core cultivator, then... the Yu Family’s true rise is about to begin!’

Swept up in this complex torrent of emotions, Yu Taoran didn’t even notice that his flying body was trembling slightly.

Elsewhere, seeing that Chen Geng had fallen, Yu Changsheng glanced down and saw that Zhang Tianwen and Li Minghan had also finished things on their end.

"Haaa..."

Yu Changsheng let out a long breath. Sensing the almost completely depleted Magical Power within his body, he inwardly clicked his tongue and shook his head with a wry smile.

The battle had ended quickly. In fact, Yu Changsheng hadn’t felt much pressure at all in killing Chen Geng. The key reason for this was the Profound Turtle.

’Just two ultimate moves and all my mana is gone. The cost is truly terrifying.’

Yu Changsheng grumbled to himself, glancing over at the languid Profound Turtle. A moment later, however, he felt a slight thrill of excitement.

From the moment the Profound Turtle appeared, it had only used two moves. The first was Domain Water Country Abyss, which restricted Chen Geng’s movements. The second was Vast Sea Without Limits, which erupted with full force and grievously wounded him. The power of these abilities was undeniably terrifying, but their consumption was just as staggering.

’However, part of the reason is that Chen Geng’s Cultivation was hollow; he didn’t attain it through diligent practice. His actual strength was likely much weaker than his superficial Cultivation level suggested.’

Yu Changsheng mused. The people of the Dark Stream had rapid Cultivation speeds, but they all used strange and demonic methods. Their Realms rose quickly, but their actual combat strength was probably a few notches weaker.

"Changsheng, are you alright?"

Zhang Tianwen and Li Minghan exchanged a look, suppressed the shock in their hearts, and took two steps forward to ask with concern.

"I’m fine. It’s all over. This Golden Core from the Dark Stream was a bit weaker than I expected."

Hearing this, Yu Changsheng gave them a light laugh, waved his hand, and spoke gently.

"That’s just because your strength is terrifying, Changsheng. Even the weakest Golden Core is still a Golden Core."

Li Minghan muttered, swallowing hard before giving a sheepish laugh.

"It hasn’t been that long since we last saw each other. It seems Changsheng’s gains in Huishui Mountain were quite substantial..."

Zhang Tianwen stood to the side, watching Yu Changsheng, somewhat lost in a daze. He gave Yu Changsheng a complicated look, which eventually softened into a smile.

His feelings were complicated. Originally, when Yu Changsheng had said he would handle the Golden Core cultivator, Zhang Tianwen had assumed he would use some other means to temporarily restrain him. He never imagined that Yu Changsheng would deal with the man so effortlessly.

Once upon a time, he had been the number one prodigy of the Wanxiang Sect. Now, it seemed that title no longer suited him. The excitement he’d felt just moments ago from recovering his Eighth-Layer Spirit Platform Cultivation was largely washed away by this feeling of inadequacy.
