I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 190 - 183: The Dinner Party and Lady Anita
Chapter 190: Chapter 183: The Dinner Party and Lady Anita
If nothing unexpected happened, this young Baron Vili would be highly valued by Count Lumbar in the future.
Although his fief was just the coastal White Bear Town, there was no telling what the future held. Perhaps he would even become a Powerful Viscount, just like Kirk.
Inside the manor where Vili was temporarily staying.
After meeting so many strangers, Vili finally had a rare moment of peace. He had secluded himself in the study to read.
The manor had an extensive library; after all, every ambitious noble held knowledge itself in high regard.
Vili discovered that the collection here was far more extensive than the one he had inherited back in Blue Whale Town. He had already decided to ask Kirk to help him acquire some books to bring back to White Bear Town before he left Golden Flower City.
"Lord Baron, Sir Kirk has sent a letter for you."
One of the Guards handed a sealed letter to Vili.
As one of Count Lumbar’s men, Kirk wasn’t always available. Thus, some messages were conveyed through simple, handwritten letters.
Vili took the letter and slowly opened it.
’The Count’s dinner party?’
Vili frowned, clearly surprised.
In the letter, Kirk told Vili to get ready to attend a dinner party at Count Lumbar’s manor that evening. It explained that this was a long-standing tradition in Golden Flower City, held almost every month.
The attendees were mostly the elites of Golden Flower City, powerful nobles from the surrounding fiefs, and some visiting nobles present to report on their duties. All were of high standing.
’We’re in the middle of a war, and the Sosen Duchy has already allied with the Wata Duchy, yet they’re still holding this kind of party in Golden Flower City...’
Vili shook his head lightly, unable to understand.
’If it were him, he would be focused entirely on war preparations, not wasting time on such pointless affairs.’
Still, Vili could understand the reasoning to some extent. Perhaps Count Lumbar wanted to use the event to steady people’s nerves and show his core nobles that he was confident about the war.
Combined with the nobility’s inherent love for ceremony, it made sense that the dinner parties would continue.
Vili put the letter away.
Since Kirk had invited him, he would certainly have to attend.
「That evening, in the dressing room.」
"Lord Baron, do you need any other adjustments?"
A tall, beautiful, blonde attendant was looking at Vili with a gentle smile.
She was an attendant at the manor, assigned to personally see to Vili’s food and clothing. If Vili were willing, she could even provide him with impeccable service in bed.
"It’s fine now, thank you."
Vili offered a charming smile and gave the attendant a slight nod.
"Well then, I hope you have a wonderful evening."
The beautiful attendant placed her hands over her stomach, bowed to Vili, and then withdrew from the room.
The moment she left the room, a flash of disappointment crossed her eyes.
She had served many nobles and top-tier merchants here, but none of them had been as young, handsome, humble, and polite as Baron Vili. Most of those noble masters were gentlemen only on the surface; in private, they would reveal their crude, bestial lust.
Moreover, Vili was not only charming, but his status also seemed to be more than that of an ordinary Baron. Even Sir Kirk treated him with great kindness.
If she could have some sort of wonderful encounter with Baron Vili, she would put in a hundred times more effort than when she served other noble masters.
But to her disappointment, although Baron Vili seemed somewhat tempted, he remained very restrained.
This filled her with both admiration and regret.
"Phew..."
Watching the attendant leave the dressing room, Vili let out a deep breath.
While the beautiful attendant had been helping him dress, she had kept "unintentionally" brushing against sensitive spots, and it had been almost too much for Vili to handle.
Vili had also noticed that as his body matured, his ability to suppress his instinctual urges was weakening. He was finding it increasingly difficult to control his desires.
’Is it time for me to stop holding back, just like the other nobles...?’
Vili rubbed the tip of his nose and grimaced.
As a normal man, Vili had never planned on being celibate his entire life; that just wasn’t part of his philosophy.
It was just that, with his body not yet fully mature, Vili wanted to hold himself to a higher standard for a while longer. From the looks of it, however, that was proving difficult.
’Whatever, I’ll think about it later.’
Vili shook his head.
While he didn’t mind losing his virginity, Vili was still reluctant to give it to a beautiful attendant who was so obviously experienced in "combat."
Shaking the chaotic thoughts from his mind, Vili left his room, boarded a carriage, and headed for Count Lumbar’s manor.
As soon as he stepped out of the carriage, Vili saw people greeting him.
These were the new noble friends Vili had made over the past few days, all of whom seemed to regard him kindly.
Seeing this, Vili hurriedly returned their greetings.
The nobles and top merchants of Dawei Province who didn’t recognize Vili began to speculate about his identity.
After all, the people who had just greeted him were of no small status themselves.
"Vili."
As it happened, Kirk’s carriage had just pulled up as well.
"Sir Kirk."
Vili gestured in greeting.
Kirk walked over to Vili with a smile, and they headed toward the ballroom where the party was to be held.
"You can enjoy yourself a bit tonight."
Kirk lowered his voice, a teasing glint in his eye. "With your looks, you’re sure to attract plenty of young noble ladies. If you’re willing, you could spend the rest of your time in Golden Flower City without ever leaving your bed."
Vili just shook his head at the remark.
At thirty, Kirk was also considered a young noble. Though he was strict and meticulous in his duties, on occasions like this, he revealed the nature that ran in every nobleman’s veins.
"I’m not yet prepared to sow my seed in a foreign land."
Vili replied jokingly.
Hearing this, Kirk gave him a meaningful smile and said no more on the matter.
Soon, the two arrived at the ballroom where the evening’s festivities were to take place.
Quite a few people had already arrived and were mingling in small groups of two and three.
And just as Kirk had said, there were young, beautiful noblewomen and mature, graceful noble ladies present.
The party had yet to officially begin, but an air of decadence already filled the room.
Seeing Vili’s expression, Kirk gave an imperceptible smile.
"When will the Count be arriving?"
Vili deliberately pretended not to have seen Kirk’s smile.
"The Count won’t be attending," Kirk replied. "In fact, he only makes an appearance at the New Year’s ball. He doesn’t show up for the others."
Vili nodded. That made sense. As the supreme ruler of Dawei Province, constantly appearing at such parties would indeed be beneath his station.
Vili was just about to pick up a glass of red wine when he saw that Kirk’s gaze was fixed on the ballroom entrance, his eyes filled with longing.
It wasn’t just him; most of the other men in the room seemed to have focused their attention on the same spot.
Vili instinctively looked over as well.
A woman in a low-cut black gown was striding gracefully into the ballroom.
Her figure was voluptuous yet graceful, and her every movement carried the unique allure of a mature woman.
The faint smile on her exquisite face was, to Vili, nothing short of breathtaking.
Vili had to admit that she was, without a doubt, the most alluring woman he had seen since coming to this world.
"Who is that woman?"
It was a rare occurrence for Vili to proactively ask Kirk about a woman’s identity.
Kirk reluctantly tore his gaze away from the woman, a smirk playing on his lips as if mocking Vili’s earlier reserve.
"That is Lady Anita."
Kirk explained to Vili.
"Lady Anita..."
Vili muttered to himself.
’So, she’s some nobleman’s wife...’
