I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 199: Silver-Level Magical Beast: Volibear
Typically, when a Magical Beast advances, the resonance between its internal elements and the external Power of Nature can cause it to behave unusually. Some become frenzied and irritable, while others grow incredibly weak. It all depends on the beast’s species and habits.
Vili wasn’t there when Wally advanced from a mutated cub to a Bronze Level Magical Beast.
However, Vili later learned through Colson, who acted as a translator, that nothing unusual had happened during Wally’s first advancement to a Bronze Level Magical Beast. It was as if he had just gone to sleep and woken up having completed the process.
Therefore, Vili had always assumed that Wally’s advancement from Bronze Level to Silver Level would be just as peaceful. But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.
Vili slowly released a wisp of his Fighting Spirit, letting it circulate once through Wally’s body.
‘He really is about to advance…’
Vili could feel the Elemental Power within Wally’s body was incredibly unstable.
Vili stroked Wally’s head, trying to soothe him.
He took a few quick bites of his meal and left the table.
Wally’s current condition was genuinely starting to worry him.
After eating, Vili carried Wally directly to his den downstairs.
‘A Magical Beast has to complete its advancement on its own. There’s nothing I can do to help…’
Vili stayed by the den with Wally, gently grooming his fur and talking to him.
Wally understood what Vili was saying, but right now, he just listened, not responding as he normally would.
‘Poor little guy…’
Seeing Wally like this, Vili suddenly felt the urge to laugh.
Wally was usually so full of energy; it was rare to see him this lifeless.
He wondered what outsiders would think if they saw Lord Volibear, the Beast Dominator of White Bear Town, lying in his den like a helpless pup.
With Vili by his side, Wally seemed to feel much more secure.
It was a bond they had formed ever since Wally was born.
As long as Vili was near, he could let down all his guards, even his awareness of the outside world.
Wally felt himself growing more and more exhausted. His eyelids grew heavy, and soon, he fell asleep.
‘Is he storing up Energy for the advancement…?’
Still worried, Vili sent another trace of his Fighting Spirit to sense the changes within Wally’s body.
Only after confirming that nothing was wrong with Wally did Vili finally relax.
He stayed with Wally for another half hour. Once he was sure Wally was sound asleep, Vili left the den.
He instructed his Personal Guards to keep their distance from Wally’s den and not disturb his rest.
Wally was at a critical point in his development. It was best to let him gather enough Energy to complete the advancement successfully in one go.
After leaving Wally’s den, Vili, who had been traveling for two days straight, felt a wave of exhaustion himself.
He took a quick bath and went back to his room to rest.
Night enveloped White Bear Town, and the evening was silent.
Silvery moonlight spilled over Wally’s den, and the sound of his breathing came from within.
HUFF… HUFF…
Inside the den, Wally was still fast asleep, but his breaths grew heavier and more rhythmic.
Puffs of hot, white air began to escape from Wally’s nostrils. As time went on, the puffs became thicker.
After another moment, sparks of electricity began to flicker in his breath.
Then, arcs of electricity began to dance across his fur.
All at once, Wally’s eyes snapped open.
The six-pointed sigil in his eyes began to spin rapidly counter-clockwise. Within a few breaths, a second, identical sigil materialized in the hexagonal center of the first.
In an instant, Wally was engulfed in azure lightning.
RUMBLE!
A clap of thunder shattered the silence of the night, seemingly erupting from the ground itself.
A bolt of lightning streaked down from the heavens, striking the ground in an instant.
The entire Baron’s Manor was suddenly illuminated as if it were day.
“What happened?!”
In the artificial lake, Selena’s head shot out of the water.
Her bewitching face was now a mask of terror.
She stared at the terrifying bolt of lightning as it fell from the sky, a tremor running through her entire body.
“This… this is the pressure of a Silver Level being, at least!”
Selena sensed the direction of that terrifying power’s source. ‘Could it be… Volibear has advanced…?’
Selena was stunned.
SPLASH.
Another head broke the surface of the water.
It was Kangbi’Er.
Kangbi’Er no longer possessed the confident air he had when he first invaded the Baron’s Manor. Now, he looked weathered and timid.
“Was that commotion caused by the bear?”
Kangbi’Er’s expression was even more timid than Selena’s. With the source of his Malice Power imprisoned, he couldn’t sense the fluctuations in the natural Elemental Power at all. He had only guessed after seeing the destructive lightning.
He was filled with dread for that white bear.
That creature, Volibear, would often circle the artificial lake whenever Vili wasn’t at the manor. He would only leave reluctantly after snatching a few fish from the water.
Whenever this happened, Selena and Kangbi’Er would hide obediently at the bottom of the lake, not daring to move a muscle.
They both felt that the white bear seemed to have some unusual intentions toward them as Sea Elves.
